Only the 88000 is bolded on the back of the box, so maybe that's the only one you need.

I think 88000 is bold because you can exchange it with 8878 (then you can leave out the 8879 and 8884 too, if you want it just to run at constant speed).

I'm all in for the idea to have a train station this year, well actually I'm all in for any idea, as long as it's not a toy shop.

This is what I am hoping for! A Winter Village train station could also come with a holiday trolley, something so the station would not be "train-less". That or a steam tram maybe.

What i heard (Got no source, only trough a facebook group where the group advertise cheap deals) is that they think it will be a train station.

Tough like i said, have no source but hoping it will be as it will be a nice add-on to the winter village :)

It would make sense since the last set was a train.  Such a set will do well as long as the ability to buy the train remains.  If it is a station, perhaps it is the North Pole Depot?

Big is not always better! That's what's wrong with the WV Cottage and the WV Market Carousel, too big and do not work well with the original models... like the Toy Shop, Bakery and Post Office.

I agree with you, AFOLguy 1970, that a train station would make sense. I mean: If not this year, then it would take til the year after a next possible winter train to get a WV train station.

But perhaps we are completely wrong and TLG won't release a train station but - due to "big" - some sort of small town place with two buildings? (That would be really cool!)

A train station would make a ton of sense. Obviously it makes sense with the release of last year's train. It makes even more sense when you consider that the train will be available for sale again this year and TLG would likely sell more trains to go with a train station. That being said, maybe it makes too much sense? Every time I try and figure out what a set will be based on marketing and sales it seems TLG go a different direction lol

While I'm not sure about a gingerbread house being done for the Winter Village series, I do think that small 2015 holiday train set you mentioned was indeed a possible precursor/predictor of the 2016 set.

Here is a theory I proposed on @peterab's Future Train sets speculation thread about that and how I think it is entied to the lack of a succeeding Creator Expert train set.

Well, Lego has followed up rejected projects with similar such sets elsewhere, the 2014 UCS Sandcrawler and 2015 UCS Helicarrier being examples of that it seems. And for that matter, many Dimensions packs had been based off of licenses that had rejected projects tied to them.

So I guess that could make such a set a possibility for the Winter Village series.

In this video, go to 17:45 to hear the bit about the large Christmas model that is being designed.  He actually says that the model will be out in December.  So I don't think he is referring to a Winter Village model.  I think it is some other theme that will just happen to be released in December.

Yeah it does seem to be referencing something else mabey a set coming out in winter

That's probably most likely the case, since Winter Village exclusives aren't released that late in the year. Someone initially posted that video on the future DC speculation thread, hypothesising that Marcos is speaking of either a DC or TLBM D2C @just2good has spoken of for next year.
