I would have this as part of the school production. You can’t have a school without kids putting on a Xmas play

Nah, there are some kid and adult actors on the stage in the professional teacher…. In my area, there is HARDLY a Christmas play at school.  Only Christmas songs.

Here are my Winter Village suggestions:

Village: Windmill (I plan to 'Winter-ise' this one: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/designer-sets-for-adult-fans-of-lego/215752/Mountain-Windmill)
Barn / farm house, inn, Christmas tree shop, clock tower, B&B, theatre, cafe, Town Hall Winter Ball, a house that has gone overboard with Christmas decorations.

Fantasy: Christmas magical forest, elf school, reindeer stables, Jack Frost home, North Pole mail room, large toy factory, candy shop, the Grinch home.

I also want to see these Lego Ideas 'in review' sets get up:
Polar Express: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/d8f0433c-efdb-454d-9a7d-981df8d55ead
Magical Village over the Bridge: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/5bb9d71f-5f3f-47b5-843b-b394fb3554fd
Santa's Cottage: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/63ccbebe-4e6f-44ba-9efb-6cace3e9b8ba
Farm Life (a barn I want to convert to reindeer stables): https://ideas.lego.com/projects/796cb47e-e37b-443f-aaf2-674dc6a51e54
And these Lego Ideas 'Not Approved' ones get up in a future Bricklink Designer Program:
House of Chocolate: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a03a4054-e23f-4987-8d72-72245f70329e
Claus Toys: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/795e5791-8109-47d0-875e-b706a4052692

Polar Express:

So, for me the WV train set was what got me into collecting the Winter Village.  I has wanted a winter village, i love Lego and I love trains.  So when that set came out I bought it, and the previous sets I could find that were reasonable and over time I have gotten all the WV sets except the post office.  My point is that I think WV benefits greatly from having a train, it creates kinetic energy, give's people something to look at, and trains are associated with Christmas.  So while I know some WV fans were not happy with a train and train station taking up two slots, they will need to bring out another train set at some point.  And a great way to do that is to do a Polar Express, and market it as a regular set, so it does not take up the WV spot.  It would be a great set for the WV, and it would be a great set for the train collectors, who want another proper steam engine, especially since the new Hogwarts Express is not compatible with lego track.  Ideally the set would come with the engine, motorized, track and the END passenger car.  Then you sell the middle passenger cars separately, allowing people to run the train with as many passenger cars as they can manage.  I realize I have veered off into blue sky thinking, but a Lego Polar Express seems so obvious to me.

It is a wonder why they haven't done it yet, especially as it's been in the review on Ideas (is it twice or three times now?), so maybe there are distinct reasons why they've not done it.

I fear it may be that they can't come to a licensing agreement.

My patience gets thinner when there is no proper rumor on the next Winter Village. Let’s hope September 1st would be a good timing for us to see its offical reveal.

I would think that if we ever get a Polar Express set, it might be closer to the scale of the current Hogwarts Express.  Perhaps the success of the HE set will help determine the fate of a Polar Express set of that stature.  Or, maybe a set that big is too big a risk with a new IP?  I would think they would do something at least at the same price point as the Home Alone set.

As for this year's WV set, I would think we're 7-10 days out from some sort of leak, if not an outright reveal.  Hopefully, it'll be sooner, but I think definitely not until September.

That would be awful, because you can't run the new Hogwart's Express on Lego Track.  I would only buy it if I could run it.

Maybe it is winter village cottage. It is 10 years anniversary. And maybe few details corrected and few more bricks. I will be happy if this would be true.

A hundred bucks? Dang.

No, you know what my biggest WV wish is? That they'd go back to modest $40-60 sets. Last year we got Santa's Sleigh for a very affordable price, but it was like the add-on to the Santa's Visit house. I haven't kept up with collecting these in part because the size and price have blown up.

It's not inexpensive at $100, but also probably predictable? The last four have been $100. Of the 13 sets, 7 have been $100. If anything, given LEGO's recent price rises, I'm sort of pleased that it's still $100 and not $120, especially as it has the highest piece count of any set (just). Gosh, that shows how expensive this stuff is to be pleased that it's 'only' $100!

As you are aware, they just brought out a residential house last year that you can still buy.  I don't believe there is any chance of them doing two blue houses in a row.  I also think the only way they start doing remakes of previous sets is if its 20 years from now, or they start doing two WV a year, the current line, and a "Classics" line.

But it'd be nice if they keep releasing a smaller $40 set along with the Winter Village every year, in case one cant afford the WV set.

I think they will.... I am kind of annoyed that they apparently only brought out Santa's sleigh for one season.  I want more reindeer!

I’ve seen Santa’s Sleigh at the Lego Store many times throughout this year, so you might still have a chance to get it.

I’d love it if they did a town square set this year. Maybe a couple small buildings and a little park area in the middle.

I personally would love remakes of some of the older sets I don't have, the updated Toy Shop is probably my favourite WV set. That said the reception for the Toy Shop remake taking up the spot of something new was so bad I doubt they'd do it again anytime soon. They'll have to do two seperate releases I think.

I'm really hoping the larger piece count means a bit of landscaping? Like the Grinches' House ontop of a hill to over look the village in disgust.

If you just want more reindeer why not try Bricklink?

I'm shocked to see that the Santa's Sleigh set is not on the website right now.  I thought for certain that set would run for at least a couple years, if not become an evergreen.  However, at a similar price point they are bringing out that Christmas Tree set this year.  I think that one looks quite nice.  And the 4+ Santa's Gingerbread set looks fun - perhaps it could be worked into some people's winter villages.

As for the main set, 1500+ pieces, but only a $100 price tag, makes me think we'll get a building with quite a bit of detailing.  1500 pieces just screams lots of small pieces to me.  With the Christmas Tree set coming out separately, I would think this set will not have its own tree, but perhaps we'll see a new vehicle for the village.  Seems like it's been a few years since we got one of those.

I do notice that the Elf Clubhouse is still available in the US - if you haven't already, probably need to think about grabbing up that one soon.  The sets from two years ago tend to be sold out by sometime in November, if not late October.

The same thing happened with the Christmas wreath. It was out for the holidays, then gone completely from the website, before being released again (with no changes) the following year. Santa's Sleigh could well be following the same pattern, so hopefully don't get too frustrated (yet).

I think they will be selling it again this year as it says temporarily out of stock on the uk site

Yeah, I think remakes would be great! I mean, likeWinter Village Cottage is more expsnive in the secondary market and I never owned that one, sadly. Thankfully, TLG decide to make that set into Santa’s Visit so it’s the best opportunity for us to afford. I don’TK now if Santa’s Sleigh is a remake from Santa’s Workshop set (I never owned that one too) but I am happy I got that sleigh set.

Any remakes of these old WinterVillage sets would be neat. You see…TLG is completel unpredictable as always. So yeah I’m pretty optimistic. :)

I think Winter Village line just need something different…something artistic. Yup I know I did mean a professional theater .

But I would love to see an ice sculpture display and light show. Yeah, yeah….I know it’s absolutely unlikely. For ice sculpture, we will need clear trans minifigure. For light show, how can we make them light up if light brick is not enough? And Power Up is pretty expensive.
