What about Christmas GWPs. Nothing on that. I hope we get them this year.

Becaus se it’s GWP stuff, wewon’t know more about them until we get closer to Christmas season. Just like last year, I believe.

.Winter Village and Advent Calendar sets are not GWPs. GWPs are usually short-lived during the specific period of time after they are available or are sold out very fast. Winter Village and Advent Calendars are often avaialbe 3 months before Chistmas season but not GWPs.

So we won’t know anything about GWPs until around late October or November. Who knows…

Find it odd that they would do another toy shop. Especially when the original was re released.

Yeah, that’s the least exciting bit about this set. A third* toy shop is a lot. I’m very intrigued by the rest & even still, I’m sire the toy store’s building will look good.

hmm, does not sound too bad. And what's wrong with another toy shop. There can't be too many :pir_tong2:.

But I am mainly attracted to the rumor of the tram. Actually hoping it will be narrow gage.. Ah well we will see soon.

For me it’s the price. I can handle another toy shop if needs be and do some modding. But I don’t know how I feel about having to spend so much if it’s 2 buildings. I would much prefer one build with a tram and for the price to be more like the original sets (toy shop, bakery, post office). Or a really beautiful detailed build and pay that little bit more. Well either way, we shall see. I will probably get it either way as I have every year since 2009

Guys gals, it’s best to reserve your judgement until you see the official reveal of that Toy Shope & Music Shop set. I mean, there is not much detail about two buildings and tram like..what they look like?

Anyways, I am quite optimistic about getting Toy Shop - it may be a perfect rival toy shop in Winter Village when there is a crazy deal like Black Friday in USA, lol.

Interesting to hear is potentially two buildings. Do you think it was inspired by folk, including myself, who modded the Hogsmeade Village Visit and used those two buildings in their display last year?

If the £100 price point is correct it would be about right for two smaller buildings and a tram from a non licenced theme.

Each store is it's own separate building or are they next to each other? Probably the former, right?

That’s an interesting point. They could be one building with 2 shops. All I know is I’m starting to struggle with my impatience now 🤣

Ha, I didn't pick up the Hogsmeade set until this year, so its sitting here next to me awaiting assembly, just to add to my WV.   And I agree, 100$ U.S. seems about right for two buildings and a tram, as the Hogsmeade was 80$.  I don't think there is going to be a price hike this year, that information would have been known by now.  When they release the set, they want you focused on the set, not the price, so they would have announced the price change early.  But next year.. I am expecting 120$ for the same sized sets, or smaller sets.

I would like to see one building (combination of two stores).  Like a street lined wit shops.

But the rumor says it will be two buildings. So i guess each store has its own shop.

But the set hasn't been announced at all by LEGO, so the price could still be anything. All we have is a leak of a set at $100, but we don't know when that information was provided. It could easily be out of date.

And Hogsmeade is $90 now. And only 850 pieces. Although it has seven figures which is probably more than we'll get in this set. Could they take two figures away and use that budget along with an extra $10 to make a tram? Possibly. Hopefully. But I could also easily see them increasing the price.

My problem with two buildings vs one is the scale of these buildings. Santa's Visit is like as big as the Fire Station and bigger than the Post Office.

Agreed with you on the scale stuf.

If you want buildings to be larger than Santa’s Visit set, it would be more than $150.

Perhaps.  I prefer to remain optimistic, but if I am wrong, so be it,

I was sincerely hoping for something different this year. LEGO had the opportunity to do something bigger and more interesting, also due to the fact that the 90th anniversary fell.
I don't want to judge anything until the official images come out (hopefully soon!). But the general idea of the set, as far as we know now, doesn't drive me crazy. The tram will hardly be applicable in a winter village (usually located in the mountains), and there were many other possibilities to do buildings or other things (like a village park). Another toy store sounds strange to me but maybe it's a conceptually different thing from the Toy Shop. In any case we will see what comes out.

Rumour has it that reveal will be on 22. 9. It is 9 days from now:pir-hmpf:

I share the dismay - such a late reveal date when considering it should be available for sale 10 days later!  I guess that means that maybe we'll see a leaked photo a week from today?  At the same time, I'm guessing nothing this week at all.  I hope they make up for this with some outstanding GWP's.

We don't know it is a toy store. The rumour is a rumour, it's not a fact. The store could be a general store that has toys in the window. It's not like this theme makes a lot of sense.

Trams, also known as trolleys, are not uncommon in small towns, especially touristy ones.  I have been thinking of adding a trolley to my village for years, and so if this one looks right, I will be excited.  Especially if its compatible with current lego track.

For me, trolley would be welcome. It would be a nice change of pace from the holiday train. I display my village on a fireplace mantle so there isn't enough room for a completed train track, instead my train just sits static. It's a fine way to display but the train itself takes up a fair amount of space. Looking forward to the new set.

There's a famous tram in Switzerland.

cr-Riffelalp-Resort-1_front_large.jpg

Riffelalp is a hamlet in the municipality of Zermatt in the canton of Valais. It is located at a height of 2,222 metres (7,290 ft) above sea level, just above the tree line, approximately halfway between the town of Zermatt and the Gornergrat mountain. Once the site of the prestigious Riffelalp Grand Hotel, today Riffelalp mainly consists of a large hotel complex, the Riffelalp Resort 2222m, and a chapel.

The nice thing about the trolley/ tram is that it can just run up and down a street and make total sense, where as the train is more like something that circles a layout.  And the idea of adding more kinetic energy to a set up  is always welcome.
