First post:

I would love a forestmen set! I also wish they would come back out with the classic packaging. I loved when Lego sets came with the flip up cover with the plastic window to see the figures and pieces.

I'm sure it will be a classic car.

If it has to be a hot car... Porsche 911!!

Nostalgic = Yes Hot = YES A good D2C = Of course! Not from DC = yes

So yeah, 911 confirmed.

Please be Indiana Jones.

I seriously doubt that would be it... but next year is the 35th anniversary of the franchise. I'd dearly, dearly love for this mystery D2C to be an awesome Indiana Jones set. :cry_happy:

If that were it, which again I seriously doubt, and assuming it were minifigure scale (as opposed to a UCS / Creator Expert-ish biplane or something like that), the aforementioned Grail Temple would be one of my top picks, along with the Dunn & Duffy Combined Circus train and the Bantu Wind.

Of course, there's still a slew of things they haven't yet touched from all four movies, to say nothing of the completely unrepresented TV series, but those seem to me to be some of the stronger candidates for D2C sets.

Agreed, one of those three would be excellent. Something like a UCS flying wing would also be a good candidate.

It's probably just a Simpsons set.

Very curious how a Simpsons set can ever, ever, ever be nostalgic... The only thing that the Simpsons can be nostalgic is if it was there house but that's already been done. I'm sure we're getting one but pretty sure that wasn't what J2G was referring to...

The rumored Simpsons 2016 set is the Andorid's Dungeon Comic shop.

That's right I forgot about that...

I really wonder what J2G's reaction was when he saw this thread xD

It definitely would be, if not for the fact the "real" Flying Wing has swastikas on it. Of course that didn't stop them from simply omitting the offending markings and releasing a version of it in a regular minifigure retail set, but would they do that for a UCS-type set, where fidelity to the source material is especially important?

With Ghostbusters 3 in production now, I could see that "nostalgic" set being based on the original flick. I mean,it's even getting its own level in Dimensions.

The only thing that makes sense from this tiny bit of info is something that calls back to early days of LEGO like a homage to classic space, castle, pirates, or town.

Well, that settles it then. It's going to be a new set of Road Signs

I'm gonna toss a guess out from left field!

The Midway Arcade. A giant neon mall-style 80's arcade with licensed Midway arcade machines. That's nostalgic, right?

I was thinking, Simpsons had a minifigures series and a D2C. Since Disney is (supposedly) getting a minifigures series next year, is it possible that the D2C is Disney related? I mean, some Disney films are pretty nostalgic, right??

Hundred Acre Woods please! That, would be super nostalgic.
