Ashnflash Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Hundred Acre Woods please! That, would be super nostalgic. In minifigs I don't know... but I still only remember the Duplo sets! Edited August 14, 2015 by Ashnflash Quote
Tariq j Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 It definitely would be, if not for the fact the "real" Flying Wing has swastikas on it. Of course that didn't stop them from simply omitting the offending markings and releasing a version of it in a regular minifigure retail set, but would they do that for a UCS-type set, where fidelity to the source material is especially important? I agree that accuracy to the material is one of, if not the most important priorities in a UCS set however, I suppose you could argue that it's not like Lego are changing the length of the wingspan or shifting the position of the cockpit, structure wise it will still be the same, just of course without the offensive markings. But even without the flying wing, there are still many more vehicles and scenes that can be done UCS style. Quote

Oh, certainly, and don't get me wrong - I very much want more official LEGO Indy stuff (go see the post I just made here if you want to see how crazily passionate I am about Indy). I'd definitely be up for a UCS Flying Wing if they did it. Heck, I'd dearly love a big, Diagon Alley-style D2C of Marshall College or Barnett College, or any number of other things. Quote
Borex Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 So why is lotr not nostalgic? The books were written in the fourties or so. Thats pretty nostalgic to me. My guess is Oz too. Or are they gonna give us dorothy, the scarecrow, the tinman and the scared lion in a dimension pack? But i like to see a ghostbusters d2c the most. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 I would love an Emerald a City more than words can say, but Ive also been thinking that with the release of the Midway Arcade gamer minifigure, the D2C could be the next Modular building, an '80s style Arcade building. It's nostalgic, and j2g bows about it, whereas he may not know about a liscense between WB and Lego for a Wizard of Oz set. Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a rumor that one of the new Modular buildings would be an Arcade? Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a rumor that one of the new Modular buildings would be an Arcade? There was, but we've now gotten new information from the same source that now says the Arcade won't be the next modular. Maybe the arcade is coming, it just isn't a modular set? Quote
Still Raindrop Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I know the chances of it being an Adventurers set are slim to none, but it would be a shame if we didn't see the CMF S13 paleontologist hair/pith helmet combination recolored and repurposed for Pippin Reed. Quote
just2good Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Hot like fire, yeah! Ghostbusters fire house? But i like to see a ghostbusters d2c the most. With Ghostbusters 3 in production now, I could see that "nostalgic" set being based on the original flick. I mean,it's even getting its own level in Dimensions. If this turns out to be a gigantic Fire Station.................................. DING DING DING! WE GOT A WINNER! The set is 75827 LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters! Here's what I know: - January 1st, 2016 release date - Over 4600 pieces - $349.99 USD - Opens like the Haunted House - Based on the original films - D2C set - There will still be a modular building next year, don't worry! It's either time to change the name of this thread to the set name (since it's a D2C) or Ghostbusters 2016 Sets Rumors and Discussions, if you'd like. Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) ...Really? What a waste. Wait, 4000+ pieces and $350? Don't care if you're J2G, I call BS. Edited September 18, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
6ix Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Are you freakin' kidding me?! This is awesome! Been there two times on my visits to NYC. Wow! Quote

When we get a press release, I'll make a new topic in Licensed with it. For now, the discussion can stay here as it is. 'Ghostbusters 2016 Rumors and Discussion' would be misleading since this is the only known new Ghostbusters set, unless you have some other info about there being more.I do really question the market for such a large, expensive set based on Ghostbusters of all things. Sure, there are Ghostbusters fans out there, and I bet the model will be decently cool in its own right, but $350 for a big building is asking a lot. Quote

It is a lot, actually, but I'm sure it'll really attract City fans as well. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm just glad it's not like the Helicarrier, where it's 2996 pieces, but $350 as a licensed D2C. Quote
Boromir Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I may not be the biggest ghostbusters fan but wow. 4600 pieces!! I have to get it! That's gonna be my biggest lego set ever. Looking forward to seeing official images. Quote
allanp Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 4600 piece GB fire house? Take my money! Quote
x105Black Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 That's kind of sad. I was hoping for a Castle, since there will be no Castle sets next year. But the price point vs piece count is tempting. I hope it looks as good as it sounds for what it is. Still doubt I'd buy it. I haven't spent over $100 on a set that wasn't in some way related to Castle or Historic themes since I got back into LEGO, and I doubt I will. The modulars are really calling to me, though. If only there was a modular medieval. I wonder what minifigures this set will come with. And I wonder if I'd be able to buy any of them for less than $20 each... Quote

'Ghostbusters 2016 Rumors and Discussion' would be misleading since this is the only known new Ghostbusters set, unless you have some other info about there being more. Well, as it happens, we do in fact already know about three other Ghostbusters sets besides this one - one Level Pack and two Fun Packs for LEGO Dimensions. They've all been officially announced, and they're all due next year. Surely three known, confirmed releases plus info about a fourth from one of EB's most reliable "advance notice" sources suffice to warrant establishing such a thread now? After all, we have a similar thread for The Wizard of Oz, and that's on the basis of a single set. Why didn't we make one for Ghostbusters as soon as we found out about even one of the Ghostbusters packs, never mind three of them, to say nothing of this D2C? I do really question the market for such a large, expensive set based on Ghostbusters of all things. Sure, there are Ghostbusters fans out there, and I bet the model will be decently cool in its own right, but $350 for a big building is asking a lot. I'm guessing you haven't been to DragonCon anytime recently. Each of the last three times I've gone (2011, 2014, 2015), there were large numbers of Ghostbusters cosplayers, usually with screen-accurate gear, and even multiple Ectomobiles in the Saturday parade (last year there were I think six of them, one of them a fully decked-out accurate replica of the original, the other five various other makes of car representing different local Ghostbusters franchisees, one presumes). The overall franchise appears to have a significant fandom, and of course there's a reboot movie due next year. Edited September 18, 2015 by Blondie-Wan Quote
6ix Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) Also, don't forget Ghostbusters HQ gathered 10.000 votes on Ideas. Edited September 18, 2015 by 6ix Quote
just2good Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Remember, Winston has new hair in LEGO Dimensions, and all their outfits are updated with arm printing. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 This sounds fantastic! Hopefully Janine, Louis, and Dana will be in the set along with the four GBs. Oh, great, now I'll need to have both of the Nostalgic D2Cs... It sounds a bit too large, though. Is it minifig scale or in line with the Modulars in size? Quote
6ix Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 This set needs Slimer popping out of a hotdog stand :-) Quote

Oh, great, now I'll need to have both of the Nostalgic D2Cs... It sounds a bit too large, though. Is it minifig scale or in line with the Modulars in size? Erm... wouldn't it be both? The modulars are minifigure scale. Are you thinking of the Architecture sets? I'd imagine this would not only have Peter, Ray, Egon, Winston, Janine, Dana, and Louis, but Slimer as well (we do now know there will be a specially-molded figure of him, after all). Dare we hope for Walter Peck? (j2g, would you know anything about the character complement yet? Your mention of how it opens up makes it sound like you've actually seen it...) I just hope that between this set and the LEGO Dimensions Level Pack, we get a full set of updated team torsos with arm printing. I could see them opting to put some of the team members in their civvies or lab coats or whatever, rather than the uniforms (unless they opt to give us multiple versions of those characters, à la the Death Star). I also wonder about the Ectomobile. I could see it being left out, as it's already gotten a set of its own, but if this monster will really have 4600+ pieces, it could easily just include the entire unaltered ECTO-1 build from the Ideas set and still have over 4000 pieces left over for the building and stuff. ResIpsaLoquitur Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 So would this be the first official minifigure-scale replica of a real building? Quote
legonerd54321 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I wonder if it will come with the Ecto-1A, since we haven't gotten one of those (officially) It'd be nice if we did. Quote
