VBBN Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 For anyone interested, the 8th Legoland Discovery center in the U.S. is being built in the Great Lakes Mall in Auburn Hills, Michigan I don't really know much about these, but I was in Great Lakes the other day and it looks like it's going to be quite large, about the size of four individual stores. I think I'll be sticking to the Somerset mall Lego Store in Troy, but this is only a 5-10 minute drive from my work so I might as well check it out when it's done. Quote
GallardoLU Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 heard about that back in march, and just by happenstance my first child arrived that week, he will probably be a little on the young side when it first opens but I am looking forward to taking him when he is old enough to enjoy it (and maybe as an excuse for me to go a few times too ) Quote
jamie75 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) That's cool, wish they would open a store a little further north for me. Troy is about a 90 minute drive for me! I'll have top check this out when they have it finished, I haven't ever been to a Discovery Center. Jamie EDIT: I was just reading up on the Lego Discovery Center and wondering.? If I buy the annual pass for $40, if the 10% discount is only available in the Discovery Center, A Lego Store or if I can use it on S@H also. Might be worth looking into, if I can use it online too! Thanks, Jamie Edited August 15, 2015 by jamie75 Quote
ogelivation Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Lego takes up a good proportion of the toy section here in Australia in stores like Kmart and Target, so I imagine it's popular, but we have not one single Lego store in the country. :( It pains me to read that you guys in the US have more than one within driving distance! We have an online store but shipping is $35 unless you spend $200. While it's not too hard to spend $200 on Lego, it does mean longish gaps between my orders so I can hike the shopping cart up to $200 and get the free shipping. I would also love to see an actual real live pick-a-brick wall. They have that service online (the bricks ship from Asia) but the range is limited. Quote
