8BrickMario Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I've seen a lot of people saying they stoping after Series 5, but I don't know why. IMO, After this theme got a lot better from Series 6 onwards. This is how I see it: S1 - S5: These are going but kind of "conservative". A lot of already seen miinifigures. S6 - S13: Golden age. The best CMF's (so far) are in these series (Genie, Gingerbread Man, Aztec Warrior, Scarecrow, Medusa, Roman Commander, Wizard, Classic King) S14: The wtf? age Just kidding. Let's say Silver Age I simply didn't need all of S6. I don't see them as "ages". I see a few golden minifigures per series, as each one is a mixed bag (even when themed) and I always like some figures more than others. In S1, the Robot was my favorite, then the Witch, Space Alien, The Monster, Cavewoman, Clockwork Robot, Ocean King, Vampire Bat, Mr. Good and Evil, Medusa, Marsha, Maggie Simpson, Goblin, Patty and Selma, and the Banshee, Spider Lady, and Gargoyle. So there's no golden age for me, as every series manages to produce great figures. Quote
fred67 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) 256 CMFs in 40 inches of shelf space. Sometimes I just stand there and scan through them... sometimes I see one that inspires me to make something for them. At the same time, someone thought that putting them on display was a waste, and what would people like me do when we got to series 50. Well, a 5x5 arrangement of these boxes would be pretty darn impressive, if you ask me. I also have a number of TLM figures that I didn't display - did not collect them all; nor do I have TGB or Mr. Gold. I'm still quite happy. 1) I didn't really think they looked that good displayed when there were so many of them. They started looking a bit messy and you miss the details when there are so many. 2) The price rises meant they were too valuable to just leave in a drawer. I always loved the display... like I said, I can just stand there for an hour sometime and just scan through all of them. They are a bit tight, but they all have their accessories and the color coding even helps me some times. I do army build the right figures - elves and dwarves, for two, and I have MANY duplicates loose in a drawer that I've got ideas for. Edited September 9, 2015 by fred67 Quote
