mccoyed Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 The cast of Final Fantasy 6 rendered in Lego! Please check out Flickr for individual shots and alternate poses. I may do some alternate figs (flesh for instance) at some point if people like these. I'd also like C&C if you think you have a better piece use or idea to bring these characters to life. I'd also love to see others' versions! Quote
DarthBrickus Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Good Work! Sabin and Cyan havent shaved in a while though Quote
mccoyed Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Always preferred the Yoshitaka Amano concept art to the sprites and redesigns. That's why Terra is blonde, Sabin has a beard, and Cyan's moustache is huge. :D Quote
DarthBrickus Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Ah ok, i'm coming from the Super Nintendo (FFIII-Version), so those sprites were my reference Anyways, i especially like your Shadow, Gogo and Umaro! Quote
thetang22 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) Good stuff. I've long wished there was a good way of making scale-accurate moogles and chocobos to go with Lego minifigs. I've never personally been a fan of blonde Terra. I like Amano's concept art too, but put in WAAAAAY more hours playing the game on SNES than I did looking at his art...so Terra will always have green hair in my opinion. Despite that detail, I like everything. Several of them are standouts, but Gogo is probably my favorite. It's the least expected I'd say. Edited August 21, 2015 by thetang22 Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Fine - where is the white hair from? Quote
thetang22 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Fine - where is the white hair from? On Umaro? If so, isn't that the hair from the oldest dwarf from The Hobbit? Quote
Sandy Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Yay, Final Fantasy stuff made out of LEGO! I love when people combine some of my favorite things. Always preferred the Yoshitaka Amano concept art to the sprites and redesigns. That's why Terra is blonde, Sabin has a beard, and Cyan's moustache is huge. :D Ah, that makes sense, since I didn't think some of the minifigs were very true to their original looks... But Amano's artwork is quite different from the sprites, after all. Anyway, I love your Celes, Cyan, the brick-built Mog, and I applaud you for not taking the obvious solution with Umaro and just use the default Yeti minifig. Fine - where is the white hair from? If you mean the one on Setzer, it is the hair of Storm from the X-Men. Quote
mccoyed Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 I love the SNES version too guys, but what the heck was I gonna do for that green hair!? Quote
Sandy Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I love the SNES version too guys, but what the heck was I gonna do for that green hair!? I guess Toxikita's hair is the only passable solution from the current hairpiece selection, and it's far from perfect. Quote
mccoyed Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 Actually, it would have been great! The problem is I didn't have it. I also considered one of the Elves hairs (the aqua-green one) but the ears ruin it. I may have to order Toxikita's hairpiece and toss it on for my next pass at these characters. I want to do a Fleshie version probably with purist accessories and a better Gogo! Quote
