Dubbadgrim Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) A trio of crocodiles occupy this ramshackle fort in Nocturnus, which sits over a river inhabited with all kinds of strange creatures. Conveniently, the crocs can 'fish' all of their food from right below their home - much easier than hunting humans or anything their own size! EDIT - Could a mod move this to Guilds of historica section? Thanks. Edited August 24, 2015 by Dubbadgrim Quote
Naijel Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) Some of the best wall technique ever. Amazing work! Edit: I don't just like the wall technique btw, it's all fantastic, the whole idea, the architecture, the characters, their catches, the swamp and rock work. Edited August 25, 2015 by Naijel Quote
MiloNelsiano Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 While the wall texturing looks great and works very well, I especially like the architecture and landscaping you've done here. It looks excellent together, and looks overall very pleasing. Great work! Quote
LegoPercyJ Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 This looks beautiful! I love how you did the stonework! Quote
LittleJohn Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Fantastic entry, Dubbadgrim! The lime works wonderfully for the water and I love that stonework Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Love this- fantastic walls, and love the shape of the building! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Beautiful - great wall, great rocks and great river (?) (liquid...) Quote
Bregir Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Wow, this is absolutely stunning! It must have taken for ever to put that wall together. The overall composition of the building is great, and the wall techniqie really makes it look old. Plus, it does not have the polished look of ornate mansions and castles from more accessible places. It looks very fitting for the setting. And btw, I really like the different creatures hanging all around! Quote
mrcp6d Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Superb work here! The brick walls are great, the rockwork is great, and I love the purple snake minifig head in the water. Quote
SEE AR AR THREE Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Really, really cool! I haven't really tried to MOC a building yet but will keep this build in mind when I do. Quote
Halhi 141 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Great entry! The wall looks fantastic, and the rocks are pretty good other than the gaps between the layers. I'm not entirely sure what I think of the lime green river though....I'm thinking that dark green or sand green might look better, although the lime is certainly unique! Quote
Naijel Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 The lime certainly has precedence in Nocturnus... :) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73930&hl=abyssian Quote
Blufiji Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Absolutely stunning build and awesome concept. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Wonderful build, as usual. The fort layout is lovely, especially how it arches over the swamp Wonderful textures as well, very nice incorporation of technic parts. Looks like they've had some good fishing lately, though I don't find most of their catches very appetizing Quote
Garmadon Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Fantastic entry, Dubbadgrim, wonderful texture on the walls there, and the rock-work is superb! The lime green water works well for Nocty too, though all the food lying around looks - well, to tell the truth - not very appetizing Ha, ha, excellent work here! Quote
Jorrith Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Awesome wall technique, and interesting building! Quote
Dubbadgrim Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Thanks very much everyone for your comments and feedback ! Great entry! The wall looks fantastic, and the rocks are pretty good other than the gaps between the layers. I'm not entirely sure what I think of the lime green river though....I'm thinking that dark green or sand green might look better, although the lime is certainly unique! Thanks, yeah the water was quite flamboyant, however I decided to stick with it as I really liked the look of it in "Abyssian" which has been linked above. Still, the more washed out greens would definitely be nice to have in my collection Edited August 27, 2015 by Dubbadgrim Quote
Spader Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Very nice! I love the stonework, and the rockwork, too, is good. Quote
Petric_G Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Cool build. Thanx for sharing. Next to the wall i also like the 'croco minifig compositions' Quote
Lord Tulkas Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Great build! I particulary love the colors used, they look just perfect! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 How did I miss this? Incredible work, man! Quote
Gideon Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Very nice build with a great atmosphere! I like the rightmost minifig a lot. You've also paid attention to the photography and presentation which this build deserved Quote
