xwingyoda Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Cool comparison pics !! Bley is so much better looking ;-) The design is really well one !! I just love it. There is only the problem of the lack of "hump". When you look at it from the top there is a bloody hole >:-( The only problem is that if you add weight on top, will it still move properly ?? We'll see but I can't let a hole on top !! G 2 people already have it, impressive. *yoda* Quote
Dfenz Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 EDIT: yeay France has it at 129.99 X-D Cheaper hehe Come On TRU, move it !! *yoda* Yoda, I hope you ordered it at that price. Its now gone up to Quote
Svelte Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Wow, that is way too expensive in $AUD. Normally our pricing is OK in comparison with the Euro/ UK prices, but if you compare the difference between Euro/ UK MTT price and this, the difference is huge. 10 pounds translates to $AUD70? (The same strange logic is at work with Cafe Corner.) Generally Aus is priced quite reasonably, but these higher end items (Eiffel Tower, UCS Millenium Falcon) are in a league of their own. Still, maybe we'll be lucky and it'll be discounted in Toys R Us as sometimes happens :-) Quote
zz-80 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Maybe one could blame the higher shipping costs for these big boxes? Quote
Vader Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 This gallery has some comparison pics between 4483 and 10178:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=276440 Tks Sam, hmmm it looks ok but not all that different from the first. Well not enough for me to go buy it, i think i'll pass on this one and wait for another. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 The new AT-AT is great! There is indeed no speederbike included like in the old AT-AT, but the walking function is much more interesting and perhaps there is even a speederbike included in the new Rebel Speeder Bike BP in 2008. The price (139,99 Euro) is very OK in comparison to the old AT-AT which had no walking function, I'd say. You could quarrel over if the General Veers minifig is a "real" General Veers minfig. In my opinion it is a normal imperial officer minifig because the face doesn't show any individual patterns. But nevertheless a new officer minifig (Is it a new minifig? I can't see it on the pics because they are too cloudy.) is great even if it is no "real" General Veers! By the way: Has anyone got a detailed pic of the General Veers minifig and would be so nice to post it here in order to see if this minifig has a new suit or not? Quote
natelite Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 this set is now available from s@h for the us for $129.99. whoa...wasn't expecting that. was kinda expecting $99.99. well, let's hope amazon screwed up on the pricing again and list for $99.99 :-P Quote
lucajuventino Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 By the way: Has anyone got a detailed pic of the General Veers minifig and would be so nice to post it here in order to see if this minifig has a new suit or not? The torso of the General Veers is the same of that Minifig: Sorry, I cannot post new pictures at this moment. Bye Luca Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Tks again Luca for the info ;-) So they produced a cheap "new" MF. An officer torso with the AT-ST head. What annoys me with the use of the head are the glasses !! As you can see in that pic, Veers has the black helmet attachment but NO glasses |-/ Well at least lets say we'll have a new fig :-D *yoda* Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 The torso of the General Veers is the same of that Minifig: Sorry, I cannot post new pictures at this moment. Bye Luca Thank you for this information, lucajuventio! If the General Veers minifig has the same torso like the "usual" officers TLC released until now TLC made a mistake to name this minifig General Veers because - how you can see on the photo on the link xwingyoda posted above my reply - General Veers has four red "emblems" and four blue "emblems" and not in each case three like the "usual" officer. By the way: I would like so much a Smowtrooper Commander like the one on this photo: http://theforce.net/swtc/Pix/dvd/ep5/veers3.jpg I hope that TLC will one day release a minifig like this one! yellost Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 manomanomanoman!!! That ATAT is nothing short than Hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing for 15 min after seeing it. It just looks sooooo ridiculous. Well, that'a another 130 Quote
Joey Lock Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 manomanomanoman!!! That ATAT is nothing short than Hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing for 15 min after seeing it. It just looks sooooo ridiculous.Well, that'a another 130€ saved for the RC, I guess... I suppose I should thank TLC for making it so easy for me to chose between sets to get... But I'm not sure it's such a good thing, though. I think I'd rather lots of great sets instead... ATAT BAMBI ON ICE ON! Hey guys mabye one of you who have the set could take a video of it walking to show its movement. That would be a big help to me :-D Quote
EyesOnly Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Ahem ;-) ttp://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/euroforum/index.php?showtopic=11382&st=30# Quote
sam89 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 There's two videos here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=276448 This one's the best. Quote
EyesOnly Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 (edited) The last one is the one linked to in the post i linked to. The first one. 8- Edited September 20, 2007 by EyesOnly Quote
Asuka Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 It seems like it walks not that bad.... pretty nice, indeed. Thanks for the links. *y* Quote
Svelte Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Maybe one could blame the higher shipping costs for these big boxes? I don't think so - if it's an exclusive available through Shop at Home then shipping is extra anyway. Quote
zz-80 Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I meant, shipping this thing from TLC factory in Danmark down to Australia... or do they have a factory in Australia as well? Quote
Siegfried Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Watching it walk makes it seem cute and cuddily. *wacko* Yep, it sounds odd, but it's just what first sprung to mind and I thought I would share it. :-D Quote
PaulC Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Anyone wanting to build this could just download the instructions from Dark Side Developer kit since it uses the same legs.Looking more closely at the photos, I think you're right! The walking mechanism looks identical to 9754 Dark Side Developers Kit. This means importantly that it does drag the rear feet along the floor. I have 9754 and it does precisely that.It also means I could combine my 9754 with my 4483 to make my own walking AT-AT without spending all that money. Hmmm. I'll have to see what I can come up with... X-D Quote
Steff Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 http://shop.lego.com/ByCatalog/onlinecat.aspx?c=25 the new online catalog for america is online.. you can see all new 2007 Star Wars Sets, at the last site is the AT -At with Pics of the Minifigs, like veers. good night ;) Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Indeed !! As you can see its just a regular officer torso + AT-ST head and helmet !! OK lets consider that a new fig X-D Lego says so so it has to be true loool *yoda* Quote
Scouty Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 It seems like it's available for Pre-order on S@H...or is this already anounced 8-| . It's a very cool set! It moves very well. Quote
EyesOnly Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I don't recall if i said it so here goes, anyone wanting the motor in this set could just pick up the ferris wheel instead for much less money. Quote
