Klaus-Dieter Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Some additions to my last reply: I hope that the "5612 police and a dog" will be a police officer, a dog and a lead. I hope that the "7731 post cargo" will be a post office with two floors (maybe first floor: desk and little storage, second floor: office), a post car with doors, two post officers and a female citizen. I hope that the "7732 cargo airPlane" will include a little cargo plane with some cargo stuff, a pilot and an airport worker and I hope it won't be a set only available at special airlines. I hope that the "7726 Coast Watch HQ" will come with a big lifeboat, a little lifeboat, a little car with doors and some nice minifigs. But if there will be a seperate set with a big lifeboat it would be OK if the 7726 "Coast Watch HQ" would only include a little lifeboat. I hope that the "7733 truck and Fork-Lift Truck" will include a not so big truck (at the most six, but better four stuck wide and with doors), a fork-lift similar to the one in the new last year's RC cargo train, a lot of cargo stuff and two until three workers. To the other sets: No addition. I know that I'm very ambitious and have partly maybe utopian wishes - but that's how it is! By the way: I hope that this year's harbor won't be the only set for the next years which includes a cargo ship. That wouldn't be nice. How I proposed http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=9448, I'd like another cargo ship, a fuel tanker and(/or) a fishing cutter. ... And I'd like some shops, some apartments and a bank! But let's see, perhaps we've got luck?! Quote
Brick Miner Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 (edited) The description is "7731 post cargo" This may not be a post office as we are all hoping. It could well be a cargo terminal to go with the cargo plane. Maybe an extension to the airport.A bit like: 6391 Cargo centre Alternatively wouln't it be great if it was a sponsored set by a parcel company like UPS or FedEx? i agree... im not reading "post cargo" as a post office. but perhaps the confusion is a result of a bad translation to english ??? maybe ???in any case, i read "post cargo" as postal cargo for a plane (like how the harbour sub-theme had the container stacker 7992 to support the bigger 7994). and if that is true, it could lead to a post office later. but right now, it looks like we have another expansion to the airport sub-theme of city. ------------------------------------------------ man, would i love a mail box though. but this brings up an interesting question that has been killin me for sometime. what color of mail boxes do european countries have ??? ours (here in the states) are blue, and these yellow and white ones LEGO produces don't suite me. what colors do everyone else have ??? ------------------------------------------------ also, i agree with glyman, and am a bit surprised by the reaction to this list. i would love to see a bank, etc... before two (two ?????????) cargo planes. - BM Edited September 20, 2007 by Brick Miner Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 what colors do everyone else have ??? In Norway they are dark green, but those you deliver the mail to are red. ;-) Quote
alex54 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 yeay loool indeed !!Its fun because we AFOLs always rant on something: when Lego produces crappy set, we complain, and when they release a lot of great sets, we complain yet again X-D But I really prefer ranting that way :-P :-D I'm like you! what colors do everyone else have ??? In France, the mailboxes are yellow, like the postecars. And for the idea of a bank, why TLC doesn't use the mechanism that they used in the Wild West sets in the bank and prison sets? It will had the playability touch for the kid, and a bank for AFOLS... Quote
Batbrick Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Thanks a heap Legomilk, this is brilliant news! *sweet* I am so glad we are not just getting more police *sad* , but Post and Coastwatch! I am definitely gonna go broke next year! :-D Heres hoping for a post office, City 2008 is ON! :'-) Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
CF Mitch Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 5610 Includes worker minifigure and accessories - Might buy these, if, like someone said before, there harbor workers. 5611 Includes worker minifigure and accessories - Same here.... 5612 police and a dog. - Not gonna buy these...I have enough police stuff already.... 5613 the fire chief - Not gonna buy this one either, I already have a fire chief. 7726 Coast Watch HQ - Probably will buy this one, sound really cool, I think it wil be (a lot) bigger then the previous sets like the one from ResQ. 7741 police helicopter - Perhaps I will buy this one, I already have a helicopter, depends on how much bigger and cooler this one will be ;-) 7743 police truck - Not gonna buy.... 7731 post cargo - Sounds like some cargotruck, or cargo plane for mail to me...dunno yet... 7732 cargo airPlane - I don't think so...I prefer the bigger planes...yes the one with the big piece :-$ 7734 big cargo airplane - Thus I willl be buying this one :-) 7733 truck and Fork-Lift Truck - Dunno yet, doesn't really sound appealing to me... Well, that's my opinion.... City 2008 On ! Ow btw, I believe all dutch mailboxes are red-orange...but I only know about The Hague for sure... perhaps Simonwillems, Wout, or Mr. Tiber can verify... or unverify :-P Quote
Hobbes Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 According to amazon.de 7731 is a Postauto which translates to "mail car" or "mail van" 7732 is a Postflugzeug which translates to "mail (cargo) plane" and 7734 is a Frachtflugzeug which translates to "cargo plane" (that was clear anyway). The others I couldn't find, and everything else is already in the 2008 list thread... Quote
Batbrick Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Thanks for that Hobbes! I guess that means no Post office then, I should learn never to get my hopes up...... Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Wout Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Policeman with dog, nice Postoffice?, Yes please! :-D The color of postboxes were red, but the post organization of the netherlands ( before 1995 PTT, After 1995 KPN, After +/- 2000 TNT) is now fused to a big world economic player whose colors are orange. So the postboxes become since this year orange. (I know it is a good color for the Netherlands, but they were always red, so I sometimes cannot find the postbox at once X-D ) I think they are in most European countries different. It's still a long way to a united europe :-P Quote

xwingyoda Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Well, if there will be no post office in 2008, there is still hoping for 2009... ;-) In january ;-) Lets not forget all the other sets coming out from may till the end of the year, so there is hope for a small post office hehe ;-) *yoda* Quote

Hope is restored! Lets just hope it isn't dashed again 8-| ............ :'-( The selection we have now is pleasing, I can finally make a fascist police state! :-D The "Cargo" and Post sets are interesting, and hopefully feature new designs. I am also hoping that the Harbour theme can continue. Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Engene Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 It is very good news , but in russia ,we haven't got all Lego's sets.I'm afraid of... Quote

Hopefully it will not be as big as the planes which were released last year and hopefully it will be available in each toy shop (like I already mentioned). I hope that this set will include a little cargo depot, too - similar to http://www.peeron.com/scans/6377-1/1. That would be great! I don't think that 7731 will be only a "mail van". If it will nevertheless be like this then there surely will be another set which is/includes a post office because releasing a "mail van" and a "mail (cargo) plane" but no post office would make no sense! jamtf Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I was at my local Lego supplier this afternoon and got a sneak preview in the 2008 Lego dealer catalogue. The new line includes very nice sets such as a yellow beach house, a small postal van with a red mailbox on a stand, a small classic yellow post cargo plane similar in size and style compared to the 7903 helicopter and the 4032 airline promo planes. The big cargo plane is a bit disappointing as it does not seem to be different from the 7893 big passenger plane except the cargo plane will be green mostly with some white accents. The cargo truck is OK but not that great. The new 2008 police station will be a major improvement and there will also be a new mobile command truck similar to 6348 surveillance squad. Also, I saw the small pictures of the new Lego impulse line. As expected, each small box will contain 1 minifig and matching accessories, such as a police man with a dog and some more stuff, a wizard with a magic wand, a knight with armor and weaponry and so on. Also, for those who want to know, the 2008 castle and SW lines will be more than excellent. And there is of course Indiana Jones that we all heard about. Bad news for many wallets I am afraid... :'-( Quote
Asuka Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Wow, great news, jamtf, thanks a lot! *y* Well, that big green cargo plain Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 (edited) Thank you very much for that great news, jamtf! That the post plane will be in classic style is a very good news. A yellow beach house - that's brilliant! We didn't get apartment houses for years - so this has been the absolutely right decision of TLC to release a new apartment house! I hope it will include a palm and a little boat, too?! By the way: Jamtf, will there be a post office, a new cargo/passenger ship and some more Star Wars sets from episode 4-6 in 2008, too? Edited September 22, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
casewindu Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 (edited) thanks for that great news jamtf! I will be getting most of those sets! especially the impulse sets they sound fantastic, now they should go the way of playmobil and do this: X-D Edited September 22, 2007 by casewindu Quote
The Executive Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 For the the love of Lego, we need a post office. We haven't had one since the eighties and I think it's about time. Quote

Freddie Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 (edited) The cargo truck is OK but not that great. A few quick questions: What kind of truck is this? Is it a tractor with semi-trailer or is it a box-truck or? And the color? And how's the fork-lift? Edited September 22, 2007 by Freddie Quote
