Lol, it's almost as if they know exactly when sam is on, so they upload the pics whenever they see him sit down at the computer, and by a stroke of luck he finds them! :-D Once he puts em' on EB, off they go to make it look like they unintentionally put them there and didn't notice it until he posted them on the net! :-P Anyone notice the prison underneath the left(if you're on the evil side) tower? Lego knows how to make a good giant chess set! It look really good! Better than the previous mini-fig one! I luv the detail on it. *wub* I'm falling in love with a lot of Lego nowadays... 8-

After calming down (a bit), I probably won't be getting this. I like castles, but all my Castle sets are currently on top of the dresser, collecting dust. I'll wait until we get a beautiful UCS castle to display. :'-)

I'm more interested in the prospect of getting my hands on those battle packs. Given that they've been spotted in LEGOLAND Windsor and California, I'm wondering whether they will be available elsewhere. My current castle army is modest at best with only 250 or so troops. I was hoping to add another fifty or so with those sets. Impulse sets just aren't ideal for building a real army.

Anyone notice the prison underneath the left(if you're on the evil side) tower?

OK, usually I'm not a big fan of castle stuff... BUT THIS IS JUST AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! I mean, look at all those details: All those dwarves and orcs, all those weapons and flags, all those towers and that little gold mine... *wub*

Just imagine what cool epic battle scenes one could set up with these! :'-)

This year sure is a great year to be a castle fan! Too bad I am not one! :-P As lovely as this masterpice looks, I'm afraid I won't be getting this one as all my big money is gonna go into CW, Agents, and smaller Castle sets (BPs) this year. :'-( But maybe it will end up in the sales section with up to 50% off! *sweet*

These are my feelings about the New Castle:

I am usually more into futuristic Legos like SW, Agents, or Batman and used to dislike the castle theme for its simplicity: castles, knights, swords, horses, and maybe some wizards/witches and/or dragons. That was it. |-/ But since last year started getting much more interested in the whole Castle theme somehow. :-/ It all began when TLC decided to make the knights actually "shiny" and pit them against an army of UNDEAD *sweet* ! That was already pretty cool, but now they fight all new orcs and trolls, too, and have dwarves on their side! I am not sure why that makes Castle so much more interesting; I think it adds a great deal of a fantasy feel to the theme as it never had before (not even in Harry Potter) making it more LOTRishly epic! What I like best about the orcs is that they don't seem to have an HQ like a castle and employ very inventive vehicles instead! My faves are the Armored Wagon (pulled by a troll following food that is being held in front of him by the driver) and the Battle Wheel (a 2-wheel vehicle powered by orc feet)! What will those orcs think of next? X-D

Btw, when does the orc stuff finally come out anyway?

Interesting. I wonder where that UK seller on ebay got his hands on them.

Right now, those and the advant calender are tops on my must have list for this year so I'm hoping that they are easy to come by. The tic-tac-toe sets came and went too fast for my tastes. This set also has the added benefit of having both soldiers and knights, so I am really hoping for info soon.

hmm, so far TLC has steered away from making dwarves an engineering genius race. the mine defender while looking like an advanced machinery is still pretty crude. How would you feel if TLC decides to up it a little and perhaps start making "steam punkish" contraption for the dwarven race? things like steam powered helicopter (call it the dwarven gyrocopter - like from WoW), or steam tank, or buldozer, etc.? will you warm up to that idea? :-P

i think this set looks awesome, but i won't be buying it -- it will undoubtedly cost at least $170-$200 and i only want some of the figs -- namely the trolls, witch, and dwarves. I dont want to pay for the other stuff..

The new chess set looks awesome but more of a collectors item than a army builder.

Slow down there, my friend, if you want Legos, you should check a store first. If TLC listed the new Castle sets on your SAH, where ever you are located, you should look around first. Why pay the shipping? ;-)
