Castle sets 2008/2009

Thanks for the news, Christan! Even though there's only three kits, I like the sound of all of them. Here's my thoughts:

King's Battle Chariot - Hm, this sounds like a Crownie version of the Skeleton Prision Carriage. I hope that this includes two horses, two crownies, and an ork or two.

Drawbridge Defense - I hope this is modular so you can add it onto the Castle Siege from 2007. I would like to see at least three orks, two crownies, and a dwarf or two.

Troll's Dark Fortress - Yes, finally the Trolls get a place to call home! I personally expect that this will be built up using lots of black arches, brown plates, and grey burps. I hope we get at least four normal trolls, one giant troll, the Troll hag, two crownies, and two dwarfs. Maybe the Crownies could also have a small siege tower as well.

This is not the full release of the 2009 castle sets. These will be spring release sets. The majority of the sets will be released in the summer like they were last year in the USA. We must all be patient. Although it must be harder for people in other countries. The 2008 sets were released much earlier for you folks, and hence a longer wait between product lines.

Huh? How do you know that? These seem to be most definitely the summer sets, not spring sets.

I'm sorry if this was mentioned before, but what happened with the Medieval Marketplace set? Was it delayed or what? I can't even find the box image in the bricklink reference catalog. I desperately want this set to flush out my castle sets with some "innocent civilians!" Thanks in advance for help and info.

It would be nice if the Drawbridge Defense was attachable to the Castle.

The quantity of sets coming up is a little disappointed, but I'm still excited just looking their names. I'm hoping the Drawbridge Defense set is reminiscent of 6078:

These were exactly my first thoughts, as it comes to the drawbridge. I don't really see this becoming a set that is attachable to the big castle, but more of a stand alone set, that would be somewhere outside the castle in the kingdom.

Brickette, Medieval Market Village is intended as a special January Exclusive release, so it wouldn't be in the latest (rumored) set list as it's already been confirmed and scheduled.

Amazing! Thank you for the info. Also, I suspect that at least one part of the drawbridge defense will have the little 2x1 technic bricks like the other castle parts so they could be put together if you wanted. The modular building is actually something I really like about the new sets, I was thinking about buying another king's castle set and making a bigger castle with a full inner keep.

Here's hoping for some dwarf and orc/troll battle packs. :D

Even though there is only three sets that we know of so far there could two waves of sets, these sets could be the first wave and there could be more that we don't know about that'll be the second wave.

Perhaps TLG manages to design it in that way that you can put it in front of the King's Castle in order to feign a forework, SWMAN.

I must say that I'm very curious about what the jubilee set will be . But I think that we'll unluckily have to wait a long time until we'll get more information and pics since the amazing 10193 is already released in January. And so another Castle Exclusive set will imo surely not been released before summer/fall. So we'll have to wait unitl (late) spring for pics and more information.

And of course an archer (with bow) Impulse set and a dwarf Impulse set would be great. But which would be even better than these would be a medieval citizen Impulse set.

You know that clone helmet in your sig pic, well for a long time I thought it was some weird puppy dog on a bubble type thingy, you know the two eyes and nose. Creepy! It wasn't until I saw your travels around the world that I realized it was a clone helmet.

Same here! But then I saw another pic of the KimT fig, and realized what it was.

The troll fortress sounds great, hopefully the queen will be included in this one. I also am hoping for troll and dwarf BPs.

I assume the poster found something interesting about 2009 sets, but i don't know if pictures or only the list we already know, or if it even has got to do something witch castle. Interesting. I'm sure we will eventually see this "poster" or whatever the fuss is about. A witch Castle? Doesn't seem to match up with the set names we've got. Maybe she is the leader of the trolls and is in their fortress, like the evil wizard is in the Skeleton Tower...
