December 19, 200816 yr Having only six sets in 2009 doesn't bother me all that much. I'll have that extra cash to spend on all of the sets that I missed (and wanted) in '07/ '08.
December 20, 200816 yr Well... me on the other hand... I don´t want to spend my money on Lego just to buy Lego. There´s not really anything in the 2010 lineup that got me interested. Agents (I know, already out, but just recently here in Germany), Power Miners, Pirates, City, Star Wars, Indy... Nope. Maybe. MAYBE, if I really start collecting City sets such as Cafe Corner and company, I might start getting into Indy. But if not, TLC won´t see the most of my money. I´ll just get the castle sets for my wife and thats it. I guess I´ll spend my money on bricklink orders then.
December 21, 200816 yr That queen look a human..but she could be an old elf queen, since elves often has queens. Well,Im sick of those darn crownies. Shes pretty cool to be an old woman, heh

Shes pretty cool to be an old woman, heh Heh, don't get your hopes up - there's absolutely no elven qualities to that queen, she's human through and through. And she's not even that old, middleaged at best.
December 21, 200816 yr We should not forget that it is officially confirmed that there's no elves in 2009. I personally can easily go without elf sets until 2010, since next year the incredible market place set comes out, abd also the other set names sound pretty good. I think TLC now concentrates on making a base for the otrcs and after that maybe we will see a new faction.
December 22, 200816 yr For those of you who are interested: I checked the prices on kiddiwinks for these new sets and translated them (circa) into Euros (no guarantee! ): 7078 King's Battle Chariot - 22,50-24,99 Euros - I think that it'll be 24,99 Euros 7079 Drawbridge Defence - 45-49,99 Euros - I think that it'll be 49,99 Euros 7097 Trolls' Mountain Fortress - 108-119,99 Euros - it's very hard to imagine what TLG did include in this set that the price is that high?!, I think 109,99-119,99 Euros Since the Trolls' Mountain Fortress is going to be that expensive it's no wonder that there'll be only two more additional Castle sets. Btw: Whung's list didn't mentioned these two more sets. So do you think they both will be exclusive sets? - I'm very sceptic about that since three exclusive Castel sets sounds to me very unrealistic. Klaus-Dieter
December 22, 200816 yr Wow! I don't even have to know exactly how much euros translates in to Aus dollars to realise that's going to be one big and expensive set! Hopefully it'll be worth it, I'd really love to buy that sucker. Batbrick Away!

King's Battle Chariot falls to the same price rank as Trolls' Assault Wagon and Skeletons' Prison Carriage (go figure!). Drawbridge Defense is about the same price as the Troll Battle Wheel. But the Trolls' Mountain Fortress... Hmm, I believe it's as expensive as King's Castle Siege when it was first released here (although now you can get that set for 80 euros from a sale). Let's just see what the prices are when they hit the stores.
December 23, 200816 yr Just saw pics of the new sets. Some description of what I saw, Trolls' Mountain Fortress -- There will be 2 crownies, 1 knight (on horseback) and a king (which is pictured as captured in the fortress cell). There will be 2 orc soldiers, 2 giant trolls (1 tan and 1 green, both holding clubs that are brown in colour and have black coloured helmets with a print), an ORC KING and an orc shaman. The fortress is huge, from the pic, I believe the size is comparable to the Crownie castle. Drawbridge Defense -- The jester, queen and the "golden" knight can be found here. The golden knight basically comprises a yellow torso and leg piece with the king armor. As this is a prelim pic, I am not sure whether this is how the golden knight will finally turn out. (I am saying this becos' prelim pics of the Space Police sets uses the City Theme Police torso... ) The enemies are basically skeletons, 3 in total (one of them on horseback). King's Battle Chariot -- Basically the King and a soldier on a single horse drawn chariot. I find the chariot a bit big for a single horse but then this is Lego.... Anyway, the enemies here are 2 orc soldiers.

I know it can be hard to do from memory
December 23, 200816 yr Ultraman thank-you for the exciting news but I have a couple questions. What pieces are used for the fortress? Are they a lot of brown bricks or a more traditional castle? And does the troll king have a new torso or anything special? I am now even more excited about these sets, especially the fortress.

December 23, 200816 yr Thank you for the descriptions, ultraman! I pardon for my scepticism, but I won't get my excitement up until I see the pictures of these sets with my own eyes. But going with what you said, I find the minifigs in these sets quite interesting, especially in the case of Drawbridge Defense: only one knight with the jester and a queen fending off three skeletons is quite a scene. I can just imagine the queen with the angry side of her face whacking skeletons with a frying pan or something like that. But yeah, I'll be waiting to see the pictures, hopefully soon.
December 23, 200816 yr I guess TLC realized that even kids who can't get bigger sets want Kings and such.
December 23, 200816 yr Pics please! I don't particularly like the description of Drawbridge Defence. Didn't Lego learn from KK2 that no-pants knights look a bit silly?
December 23, 200816 yr What shall I do with three Human Kings? Could be be good for dragon food, though.

December 23, 200816 yr The sets sound very nice. It's good to see a return of the skeletons, although a shame we haven't seen any dwarfs in the sets so far. The Troll Mountain Fortress sounds great, nice to get a stronghold for the trolls at last. With their lack of structures I had always thought of them as nomads or pirates. I do wonder what Drawbridge Defense is. A bridge, a castle section, or a small castle itself? Seeing as though the queen and jester are included, I would assume it would be a part of the castle, hopefully including a royal court or something similar. All in all, it sounds like we'll have a great castle line-up for 2009.

December 24, 200816 yr I will be interested to see pictures of the these sets. The descriptions sound realistic except for the mini-figures. Some of them don't sound very realistic for the set name and type of set. One knight, a queen, and jester for the Drawbridge Defense. That doesn't sound right. Plus, for how large the Troll Fortress was described as, it should have more figures especially if it is comparable to the Kings Castle.
December 24, 200816 yr I'll believe the 'pics' when I see them. The jester would be much better dangling from a chain above a boiling cauldron in the troll fortress set!
