Does anybody have an insight on whether Amazon.co.uk will sell the Market Village, too?

I 'm in Holland but I prefer ordering this set from the UK of course!

Germany 99.99 EUR

Austria 99.99 EUR

Belgium 99.99 EUR

Spain 99.95 EUR

Finland 99.99 EUR

France 109.99 EUR

Ireland 116.99 EUR

Italy 99.99 EUR

Luxembourg 99.99 EUR

Netherland 99.99 EUR

Portugal 99.95 EUR

EUR countries only (avoid change rates), why do France and Ireland have to pay more? By the way buying the set from an UK Ebay seller will be cheaper than ordering it from shop at home France obviously. I know that TLC has already explained the price differences between US and the rest of the world, but i guess the reasons for Europe are a little bit different (Taxes perhaps?).

Well, I have emailed Lego about this, and failing any change in pricing for Ireland, I think I'll have to get someone in Northern Ireland to order it (and other sets) on my behalf at UK prices, and I'll collect next time I am visiting them. Awkward to arrange and a bit of an imposition, but when the price difference is so vast, how can I pay over the odds? I'll be buying enough Lego next year (e.g. Pirates, Castle, Farm) despite the circumstances that I can't afford to pay over the odds for anything.

I'd be happy to pay €99 rather than the £70 (€75) I'd pay from the UK - I understand the UK price being so low, as people there aren't getting higher wages just cause the pound has depreciated.

Skellies already have the dark wizard´s tower as their headquarter ;)

Nope, thats the Evil Wizards Base, thats not where the bulk of the Skeletons hang out. They must have a barracks somewhere...

To me, the Undead faction is just a bunch reanimated corpses - the only barracks they have are their coffins! I think it's strange to think the skellies as some sort of society with their own houses or castles or country or anything like that. They're just bones that move thanks to dark magic, really.

The trolls are the opposite, and I think they're pretty much equivalent of a barbarian society, the only thing different being their impressive warmachines. But I can definitely envision a troll city with troll civilians. I cannot imagine skeleton civilians.

But that's just how I see this.

Hey, I'm getting a GREAT idea for a MOC here!

So far the only thing that I don't really like is the chariot. It just looks a little weird, and the color scheme is blue. Then again, it is very blurry and it is preliminary. I think my favorite will be the Drawbridge Defense. Just another building to be raided, and hopefully the golden knight will wear pants!

I guess.

I wonder what this Orc King looks like though, I hope he doesn't have a crown.

Sorry to disappoint you... the reason why I say there is an Orc King... is becos' the pics showed him wearing a crown (the same replica as the crownie king).

Since the pics are prelim, hopefully TLC will make it a different mold from the normal king's one.

Can we really start saying how terrible they look after extremely blurry preliminary pictures? :sceptic:

I think they don't look bad at all and we can barely even see much. I'm definitely holding off further judgement until better pictures arrive.

I agree, Although the drawbridge looks nice, did he take pics of SP as well?

I am really glad that Lego is releasing a Troll castle. They are my favorite faction. I wish they would stop with the Skeleton's and focus on Trolls, Dwarves, and Crownies. I also think that people shouldn't worry so much about the minfig counts that have been speculated on, because from the pictures, at least for the Troll fortress, there are more figures than previously though.

Oh, I know. That post was more of a 'nudge-nudge' to go get better pics.

:wink::grin:

Well in that case let me join you!

C'mon! Better pics! *Shakes fist angrily*

Trolls are my favourites too. They're just so evil.

I don´t know if it was posted before (haven´t found something), but I read on two different sites, that there won´t be a castle advent in 2009. Instead we will get a pirates calendar. Can somebody confirm this?

No...so hard to confirm something that isn't "in the open".

But I agree, it looks like a Pirate & City advent calendar year to me.

I certainly hope not, I'd much rather have an effeminate, resplendent, flamboyant, well-dressed, hilarious and devilishly campy Orc King! Maybe it could say 'Orc Pimp' on the box instead, even...

If someone had them, they would have posted them to be honest....we're just gonna have to be patient dude.

You just go be patient somewhere else limey!!

I'm American and I want those pics/ sets now!!!

Hey everyone. It has been a while since I checked the boards. Holidays and all.

I am rather confused about this thread? A german poster comes on the boards and types a few lines of what I would consider jibberish. The last line saying atleast 6 castle sets, and all of a sudden only 6 sets are coming out next year total? Wow, I don't know who this person was, (I am new here) but I am guessing it must have been the lead designer of lego?

I firmly believe there will be more than 6 castle sets this year. As for the 14 sets that were mentioned to me earlier. I, of course, cannot be certain of this but my source has been right in the past every time. As for 14 sets being outlandish, I would note that last year there were 12 castle sets. And most of the 2007 sets were still in production. I am still hopeful for a glorious year of castle.

I do agree completely that the castle sets will wait until later in the year mostly due to the pirate lineup.

As for the photos. I hope to all that is magical in castle that these are not the final versions.

I have little to comment on the troll mountain fortress as it does look big and thats fine by me. I have to wait for better pics to get any idea of the quality of the set. (I do note the 2 kings included)

What the heck is the jester doing in the drawbridge defense? The structure itself looks fine. I agree more royal knight-like than KK. The gold Knight looks ridiculous, atleast in that fuzzy pic. I admit I may have been wrong to trust lego on minifig design if this is the character that is released! (Also note the queen and jester are in this set)

The chariot does look way overly large, but the pic is fuzzy so better analysis will be needed. (note another King fig)

Special comment: The king fig included in the chariot ruins that set for me. It is a cheap set that I would usually buy multiples of. I already have way too many King figs. The last thing anyone wants is an army of crowned kings. Even when you modify these figs you have to buy a helmet and often other gear seperately for them. Putting individual characters into the castle sets keeps people from buying multiple copies for army building. I thought TLG learned from this in the past. Last year they limited certain special figs to only a few sets. Now we are getting atleast 1 or more special characters in every set we know about this year including the queen, jester, and gold knight figs. I am afraid that this will really hurt sales.

Lego really needs another good faction to be released. The dwarves were a welcome relief to me as allies of the crownies. No dwarves to be seen in this years sets is a total disappointment. I really expected the dwarves to be the foe of the trolls in the troll mountain fortress set. The crownies are now in their third year and by all accounts still going strong. I am an army collector and I think I've got too many of these guys. I will have to wait patiently for better pics and future releases before I can get excited about the 2009 lineup.

Oh, I think that´s easy: The Queen and the King have split up, so the Queen´s new residence is the Drawbridge, but she is still very angry with her former husband, because she wanted a more luxury home. Her new favourite, the golden knight, thought, that it would be the best, if the Queen could at least laugh a little bit and that is why he hired the jester

Alas that the Drawbridge appears to have no windows, is this the new open-style living?
