TigerMoo Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Hi to all....I am thinking that it would be very interesting if they had made the Drawbridge as a separate set but still able to connect to the Kings Castle Siege!! Quote
Scop Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Alas that the Drawbridge appears to have no windows, is this the new open-style living? It appears... Quote
Dadster Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Hi to all....I am thinking that it would be very interesting if they had made the Drawbridge as a separate set but still able to connect to the Kings Castle Siege!! I'd say that's a good guess. Both the Castle and Pirate lines already have the ability of modular building within the larger sets. Quote
MrBlack103 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 As for multiples of unique figs, I wouldn't mind getting a few of the gold knight. I could use them as royal guards/crownie commandos etc. Quote
TigerMoo Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Another reason that it would make sense is that what better way to introduce the queen and jester!! Plus the addition of golden knight and maybe thats the reason skellies are back just like from Kings Castle Siege!!! Just my thought? Quote
Derek Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 To all of you who are mad about the king in the chariot set, boo hoo. You forget that Lego is targeted to kids, especially this line. And not all kids can afforrd a $100 castle, or a $200 chess set. Now I'm sure that is a primary reason why Lego put the King in a small set. What's the worse thing that can happen? You don't buy it? You use the minifig parts to make a new one? You sell the figure on Bricklink? I'm not trying to be mouthy, but some of you people should really hear yourselves sometimes... -darthperson (PS- Dont you trash-talk legomilk, he is very helpful on here, even if his English isn't perfect...) Quote
KimT Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Thanks for putting things straight darthperson. Remember that the pics floating the internet are preliminary and most likely to change before the sets are finalised. I really don't care wether I get a king in every set or not. The torso's great and the crown will do well in any treasure chamber - be that human, skellie or orcish. Judging from the preliminary pictures, the sets look fine to me. They may look a little KK2, but given the fact that the previous Castle sets we're awesome in a non-KK2-way, I am assured that the 2009 wave wont be a step backwards to the rainbowwarriors and the most hideous castle theme ever. Anyways, if you don't like the new wave, then get another 10193 instead. - The set most likely meant to be aimed at us AFOLs anyway. No need to complaint when we've been given such an awesome set. Being a fan isn't solely about bitching about the sets to come. It's also about appreciating the sets given. Quote
Scop Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Sometimes I get the feeling, that negative opinions on sets are not very welcome at all. If someone thinks, that there are too many kings in the new sets, he has the right to think so. But if you write someting like that, there are immediatley posts saying "remember the children", " You are not forced to buy it", etc. This may be right, but doesn´t seem to make much sense to me. I know that lego is aimed to kids, but nevertheless I don´t like having 2 Kings in 3 new Sets. Another example are the prelim-pictures: They are blurry and, as the name says, preliminary. Someone wrote, he didn´t like, what he saw. Then there were 2 comments: "You can´t judge from what you see, it´s too blurry", but in the same post was written "I like the new sets so far", and nobody did complain, but if someone says that the pictures are too blurry to critisize something, how can he say they look good? Just my two cents... Quote
KimT Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Good points Scop. Screw the kids, loose the kings and let's have some real deal Castle sets Quote
General Armendariz Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I do love castle how I have ever so much of it. I totally want the queen!! Quote
posades Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I'm actually looking forward to multiple King figs, that way I'll be able to sell off the extras to bring down the total cost of the set in the first place. Is the queen different from the fig in Skeleton Tower? Quote
Sandy Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Is the queen different from the fig in Skeleton Tower? Yes, she is - the one in Skeleton Tower was a princess, actually. But to admire the queen in all her glory, just take a look at the first post of this topic. Quote

With the King not being in a low cost set, I don't know how much the King figure will be worth. As of right now, he is only available in expensive sets, so he is probably worth a fair amount. But, once he is released in a cheap set, he will become cheap. Quote
dhaas06 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 The current king figure from Castle Siege is only worth around $5 (USD). Maybe I'm just used to the pricing of Star Wars figures, but that's already not very much . Quote
JimBee Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Can anyone take a guess at what that dark blue thing is in this picture? Looks like a small dragon to me, but any other ideas? I am also glad to see that white skeleton horse, which probably means the return of Skellies. Especially since in the 2009 catalog has an article title of "Knights, Dwarfs, and Trolls!". Where's the Skellie love? I can wait on Elves as long as Skellies are here to stay. Also, it seems like we won't be getting those new rumored Castle sets until Wave 2 this year... Quote
Dadster Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Which picture? Back a few pages... They were blurry. Quote
Etzel Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Which picture? Back a few pages... They were blurry. No, I think Pencoin asked which picture JimButcher was asking about, with the dark blue thing. But I don't know either what picture he is talking about :) On topic: I think the drawbridge looks really nice and the chariot is certainly interesting. But the picture of the trolls castle is way to blurry for me to judge from. Hopefully it is stacked with dark brown. Quote
JimBee Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Page 140. This set. I was asking about the dark blue thing in the background, near the middle-left. Quote
natelite Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Page 140. This set. I was asking about the dark blue thing in the background, near the middle-left. i think your eyes are seeing things. i see a skeleton on a skeletal horse. and another black skeleton running down the mountains slightly above it. Sandy Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Page 140. This set. I was asking about the dark blue thing in the background, near the middle-left. That's just the skeleton rider's hood and scythe making that shape. But it took me a while to see that, too. Quote
Dadster Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) 500th Post on 1yr Anniv! Did anyone else see the yellowish flags on top of chariot? Almost looks like there is an insignia or mark on them... Edited January 2, 2009 by Dadster Quote
Pencoin Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Could be, I think it is just shadow though. Quote
KimT Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 500th Post on 1yr Anniv!Did anyone else see the yellowish flags on top of chariot? Almost looks like there is an insignia or mark on them... Sorry but that's a no-go. They're regular golden castle flags..at least in that preliminary picture. Quote
JimBee Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) i think your eyes are seeing things. i see a skeleton on a skeletal horse. and another black skeleton running down the mountains slightly above it. Probably... but somehow I am seeing something else... That's just the skeleton rider's hood and scythe making that shape. But it took me a while to see that, too. Ah, thanks Sandy. Still, it looks like it might not be a skeleton horse. It looks dark blue to me, and there's a tail to the right of it, like the end part of the regular dragon's tail (not the spike thing, the smooth, tail part that attaches to the the big tail part, an then to the spike thing). EDIT: Now I see how the scythe makes that weird shape by the horse's head, but I still see a dark blue tail. Edited January 2, 2009 by JimButcher Quote
