ziljin Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If they do make new Castle sets, it would be awesome if there is a cheap set with the golden knight(or any kind of armored knight for that matter) minifig. As of right now, its way too expensive. i have 2 lol. Wish I could afford more. I got into Lego just at the beginning of August, missing out on all the awesome Castle sets. =(. Quote
Earendil Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 But it also means no more Fantasy. No Elves. :( Quote
metalandi Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 What are you talking about? Just if they change the name it doesn't mean they don't continue the way they have been going since 3 years now. Although i have to admit that i'd love to see more civilian sets like the MMV set, i can see a lot of potencial in that, as you can see in moc's people have built, there are billions of possibilities for civil stuff, like shops, bakeries, handworker stores,.....gotta stop dreaming now Quote

That seems to cover everyone's interests. The kids get more action and AFOLs (and the kids who like them, I know I always wanted more) get civilians and buildings. I'm sure I am not the first to propose the idea, but I do wonder about it. Quote

I'm sure I am not the first to propose the idea, but I do wonder about it. I'm not that sure about this. Many AFOLs want civilians and kids want knights and fantasy creatures. So I think it is the best - and I even bet that this will be how TLG will do - to release a Caslte Exclusive every about two years with many medieval civilian stuff for AFOLs but release the regular Castle sets with only very few civilian stuff. Btw: Action does not necessarily mean that there have to be fantasy creatures and elements included. Of course it can - but there can be only humans, only fantasy creatures or a mixture between both. ziljin Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) I think his point was that, Lego can make a compromise on sets. Have civilians, and the soldier minifigs. Like 2 warriors duking it out with a peasant as a bystander. Or some merchant traveling to a distant land accompanied by soldiers and they are attacked by the enemy (like King's Battle Chariot, except replace the King with a Merchant). Edit: Random other examples, the enemy raiding a local farm plot for food. Invaders attacking a treasury for gold. Maybe a blacksmith/stable with valuable resources. A crypt/mausoleum being looted by bandits for the treasure. I say enemy so you can replace it with trolls, skeletons, or any human faction. Whoever the "bad guy" is. If he meant it this way than he's of course right! A pro-argument would be that there even appeared medieval non-war minifigs in non-exclusive Castle sets: the medieval maiden and the jester in last year's advent calendar and the jester and the queen in one of this year's Castle sets. You do think about something like a comeback of the Forestmen theme, don't you?! That would be ! Klaus-Dieter Quote

That was my intended meaning, to have sets that have civilians and that still satisfy the need for "action" so that everyone gets what they want. His examples are right in line with what I was thinking. Quote
howl.bricks Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Right now, we can only wait until the new sets come out, or at least the box arts Hopefully there will be a battlepack for the new castle sets (and new impulse sets) That's all i can afford here. i mean, RM89.99 for a LSW BP? insane pricing. (a bit off topic, i know.) Quote
KimT Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 There will be new impulse sets. At least 3 and one of them is a new wizard a lá the one we saw in the Fantasy Era impulse. There's also a castle coming up. Quote

Etzel Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Did we need another wizard? Not really, I agree. But on one of the pics I saw of the set he had a black beard so that could be a reason for buying it. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Sounds very intresting I can't wait to see what's going to happen, though I would like to hear some more if any more info is about! Quote

Etzel Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 @Etzel: Can you please describe us what you saw on the pics? Well, I saw two pictures of the wizard impulse set. One where the wizard (which has green clothes btw) has a white beard and one where he has a black beard so I'm not sure which one we will get. I don't really remember what there was more than the wizard but probably a crystal ball or a shelf with potions. Quote
