Castle sets 2008/2009

I agree. A skellie fort would be awesome. A troll fort,too. I think, though, the coolest thing would be.....

I see some people are worried that the skelies might not return, i don't think that will be the case however.

The skelies will return, though i'm not sure when perhaps at the end of next year.

Unless he can make a spell or some orb thing which makes the skellies live on their own, I doubt it. Unless, of course, like KK and KK2, he escapes(Vladek, anyone? :-| ), then a new fortress would be perfect! Or maybe a mine where the skellies have the captive dwarves work to get them metals to make new armor and stuff! But I think as far as enemy fortresses have gone(the only real one ever made was the KK2 Vladek fortress, and it didn't even count; it was just a wall :-| :-P ) we'll just have to watch and wait.

I agree that a skellie fortress is probably not in the cards but I definately think we are getting a big evil fortress this year. It follows the basic pattern Lego seems to be falling into with alternating good and evil big sets. I think if KKII hadn't been fading out by that last year we would have gotten a big new good castle instead of a medium neutral/goodish Mistland Tower.

My guess is 'Troll King's Lair' with Trolls, a giant troll, a dragon because they love to put dragon's in big sets', and a small siege thingy held by 2 dwarves outside.

but I will say this. The troll/dwarf line took me completely by surprise so maybe they have something just as surprising scheduled for the second half of the year. I extrapolate sets that are coming like I play the stock market by looking at past performance and trending forward. And I lose money in the stock market.

Very good points there Vader, I had forgotten about that marketing strategy. If they do return though, I have great doubt that they will have "their own" sets, since they have been used already. More like a couple of skellies on horses attacking a goodguy tower or something. I believe this because kiddies might not buy more skellie sets if they have been done already, and the same sort of thing has happened to crownies this year too (on a slightly less scale, because they are still the knights after all)

So the skeleton sets are definitely fading out already? Crap. Bad timing. I just started buying them. Barely have any. I need to get like $500 or $600 dollars worth. And twenty Dwarves Mining. Yeah, that's going to happen.

Also, that knight impulse set. Could it come out already? April? That stinks.

Orc sets all look awesome. But, I think the skeleton line is pretty cool to begin with. It's all so different. A nice twist after 20 years of knight on knight experience. That sounds wrong. Hahahaha.

And I expect a new sideline of city, like school, and a ne era of exo-force(new characters, mechs, story, etc.)

The biggest (from the box pics) is the ship, with the mine wright behind.

i think that elves would add the right amount of depth to the castle:

men:skellies

dwarves:orcs

elves:trolls

and then wizards

but with elves it might be about even and this castle line seems fantasy oriented anyway it would just be logically cool to me *sweet* *sweet*

I'd say the evil army in an elves theme would be either dark elves or evil humans. Mabye if we're lucky, we could get minotaurs, centaurs or cyclopses *wub*

I doubt we would get greek mytholgy minifigs :-/ I can only see ths line having LOTR style, I reckon a dark humans faction could work though.

Just imagine, a whole army of wizards. That would be awesome. That's a pretty good idea. Now if they make the Elves, what new weapons could they make? I think they use the Qui-Gon hair for the men and make a new one for the women, then make new bows, swords, and maybe even new quivers.

You could leave a few skellies in with your castle sets. I'd imagine Orcs would be useful aswell for your post-apoc world, as some sort of aliens or mutants *sweet*

This is why, if you're like me and love the skeleton faction, now is the time to stock up on them because they may not return. I myself am trying to obtain a multiple of each of the four smallest sets.

Although there are rumours they may return, hopefully they do! :'-)
