Castle sets 2008/2009

I quite like this set, although I'll probably only get 3 at the very most. The chariot looks nice, and it's good that a scythe comes in a cheaper set (though it is easy enough to make). Also I remember people discussing how to fill the gap in a skelliehorse, looks like TLC did a good job of it *sweet*

I notice that a number of the 08 sets say 7-14 as opposed to 7-12 like the 07 ones. I wonder what prompted the change?

I've been hearing alot of talk about new armour recently, yet I can't quite figure out what people are talking about. Is the armour in 7037 actually new, or is it simply a recolour of this:

I'm always hoping for new castle bricks, but I would expect a new breastplate would be used more extensively.

Well, judging from the picture at the very beginning of this thread, I would definitely say it's a new piece.

Thanks for these pics Vader, this confirms to me that that silly shooting system is easily removable and that the "tail" at the end can ve easily shortened as well *sweet*

Oh that tail has to go, i just hate the look of it and don't even get me started on the missile..... :-X

Apart from that this set looks like a great addition to the line, now all those orcs need is somewhere to rest their helmets.

I agree, like someone stated before, I definitely think this is one of the best things to come of the new castle line because, its not another castle, its something never done before and a totally unique design. Not only now do we get awesome fantasy minifigs, but the sets are touching on fantasy too :'-)

Luckily that tail and gun is easily modified too.

Thanks for the new Battle Wheel pictures! And I thought this line for the most escaped the crappy launching systems *wacko* but as always, lego deceives me and finds more imaginative ways to hide them and integrate them. The tail is an eyesore, but understandable.

I love the Castle '08 poster! It would like nice next to my Castle '07 one. :-D The Dwarf wielding a chicken leg is funny, although I don't see a Dwarf's Mine Defence catapult. Oh well!

I think I found another impylse set, I think. I haven't seen it posted on the front page so here we go:

Definitely different from the other troll impulse. It includes a crossbow, a brown, not grey sword, the new armour too. I'll definitely get a few for that cool gold helm and awesome new armour.

I hope this hasn't been posted before, I never find news :'-(

Now if only the Troll Impulse set had the minifig from the final set (as the other one is more higher ranking, and the other one seems more like yuor everyday Troll Warrior) and the siege weapon from the prelim., thus avoiding the FFM. Or maybe the prototype with a silver helmet instead of a gold one. Hmm.
