Castle sets 2008/2009

I think I found another impylse set, I think. I haven't seen it posted on the front page so here we go:

Definitely different from the other troll impulse. It includes a crossbow, a brown, not grey sword, the new armour too. I'll definitely get a few for that cool gold helm and awesome new armour.

I hope this hasn't been posted before, I never find news :'-(

I'd love to have loads of goblins and few leaders, but how about giving some of those armor pieces to the silver helmeted goblins? 8-

I think TLC would be a little stupid not to give us a dwarf impulse, they could get some great sales out of those.

Okay, I'll finally pitch in about the Dwarf Impulse.

If we were to see one, I think it should/would come with the wingless helmet in bronze or silver, or the winged helmet in bronze. A brown beard, as we have red in Dwarf's Mine Defence. For weapons, a gold axe (probably single-bladed) with a shield, and a pickaxe. Perhaps some crystals, 1 gold and one silver, and a barrel, or maybe even a mine cart. I dunno. Anyway, I'm getting off topic, sorry. :-$ I've already expressed my opinions on the Troll Impulse set.

Same here! :-D I was thinking maybe instead of a mine cart, it could include a small brick-built rock sculpture. Or maybe there could be two Dwarf Impulse sets (I'm getting quite what-if now, and I apologise if I'm heading off-topic, I'll stop after this post). Here are some ideas;

Dwarf Miner

Includes one Dwarf with silver wingless helmet, dark brown beard (same as the one in Dwarf's Mine), small brick-built rock formation, pickaxe, and 3 crystals, 1 gold, 2 silver. Also includes frown large barrel.

Dwarf Defender

Includes one Dwarf with bronze winged helmet, frown beard (as opposed to that new dark brown they currently use in Dwarf's Mine), 2 black lightsaber blades, and 2 golden axe heads (so you can have 1 double bladed or two single bladed axes), round shield with Dwarf emblem, pearl silver sword, and a barrel to put the spare weapons in. Then you could either have a small fireplace (keeping in mind Impulse sets only use about 10-14 bricks) with a hammer and anvil, or a brick-built sledge hammer.

Or here's one just for fun.

Dwarf Diner

Includes one Dwarf with red beard, silver wingless helmet, a golden cup, and the rare turkey/chicken piece with 2 legs. A brown 4x8 plate with 4 1x1 bricks on each corner as legs can also be included as a table. A barrel with tap piece included as a wine refreshments dispenser. ;-)

I don't expect this last one to be released, as I said it's just for fun, and I don't expect two Dwarf Impulse sets were to be released. But if one were I think it would be like my original idea, as that included aspects from both the mining and the fighting side of the Dwarves.

I'm not liking that Catapult impulse much, old torso, a useless accessories. I'll get one for completion, but the sentry and others are FAR better.

As for the barrels, good point, but I still think its the weakest of the impulses, I would've preferred a skellie army builder with no horse or something.

I'm assuming that 3 Euro is the regular price for Impulse sets? If so, I think the chariot may be a little big. That said though, it's only 25 pieces, so it may well be. The catapult is more than likely Impulse.

Yeah but, the crossbows are like, part of the siege weapon. I think they look better on it. :-$

Good point again, but overall I'm getting these for the minifigs, and the new torso is better anyway.

The new torso doesn't look very armoured, it looks just like an undercoat for the armour piece, wheras the old torso had nice armour plating, and a big steel 'bib' thing with the crown symbol on it.
