iamded Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Also, we get an Exo-builder head for the dwarf, and the battering ram operates on a swinging mechanism, which is also realistic (although I think they didn't have giant rubber bands back then... :-P). ~Peace Quote
hollisbrick Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 thanks for the pics! i really *wub* dwarves mine defender!!! and finally!!!! a different catapult (yay) Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Thanks for the pics, I still love that siege tower *wub* I'm dissapointed with the mine defender though - first of all- gears? And second of all, would it kill them to add a shield? Or at the very least, a weapon for the dwarf? |-/ (although I think they didn't have giant rubber bands back then... :-P) What?! There weren't giant rubber bands on battering rams?! Next you'll be telling me knights didn't use giant flick fire missiles! :-| :-P Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Tks for the new pics guys !! The only good point about them is the sweet close up of the new troll armor *wub* + that hilarious big troll on small ship !! That should not even be possible, it should have sunken way before !! Come on those giant trolls weight way too much too sta,nd on such small barges X-D Apart from that there are no real novelty: the dwarf thingy looks even more crappier with these pics and I will sure buy several but I won't even build one of those monstruosities thats for sure !! The Tower & Boat are must have sets !! *yoda* Quote
Hinckley Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 :-D :-D :-D :-D What's next? A dwarf in a Hummer set? Thanks for the pics LOP! Quote
Vader Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 :-D :-D :-D :-D What's next? A dwarf in a Hummer set? Thanks for the pics LOP! I really love these kind of joke pics X-D , they really show a lighter side of lego and what can be done. Quote
Shadows Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Greatest Contest Idea EVER. *sweet* Transport-a-Troll: Build the craziest vehicle possible for the troll. Sadly, some people don't have the troll. Perhaps they could use the snow beast instead? Oh, stop looking at me like that, I know it goes against my "make it something everyone could enter" rule, but it's such a good idea! Quote
Batbrick Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I really love these kind of joke pics X-D , they really show a lighter side of lego and what can be done. I agree, its great seeing TLC cracking some jokes :-D Greatest Contest Idea EVER. MUST. BE. DONE. A troll is easily purchased in the assault wagon set, so I see no problem in this wacky contest of crazy proportions. Trolls riding on skateboards ON! Batbrick Something! *wacko* Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Or perhaps on a motorbike? :-D I like the new troll he looks very funny in the rowing boat, I just hope the rest of the set is that good. Quote
Batbrick Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Atleast we get a chain in each catapult, I'll keep maybe two together just so the Dwarves can have something to fight with, and then dismantle the rest for those great brown parts and chains! *wub* Did I mention I have a love for chains? *wub* Batbrick Something! *wacko* Quote
Brainbox Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Nice new pictures, there, so thanks to whoever brought them to our attention. Not sure why the catapult has lever controls, but never mind. Just another one of those TLC weird moments, I suppose. And that pic of the troll in the miniboat is hilarious :-D I know! Isn't it hilarious? Did I mention I have a love for chains? *wub* You know Batbrick, I really wouldn't have guessed. ;-) Quote

X-D Yea, I still don't get whats up with the catapult having controls though, nor what the rubber bands actual purpose is. Batbrick Something! *wacko* Quote
Visorak-kal Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Really? X-D Yea, I still don't get whats up with the catapult having controls though, nor what the rubber bands actual purpose is. Batbrick Something! *wacko* I don't know about the controls, but the rubber bands are for the saw function. When the wheels turn, the rubber band causes the blades to spin as well. Great new pics, I am definitely planning to get that Attackship, not sure if I have room for the others. But the Attackship is superb! I like the gold hues on the dragon, I was afraid it was going to be green and yellow. All these sets are great, though, wish I could get them all but I need room and money for other sets. VK Quote

When the wheels turn, the rubber band causes the blades to spin as well. I don't know about that. Surely the rubber band would just stay in place as the wheel turns. Wouldn't they have to put the part that holds the rubber band to one side of the wheel? I could be wrong though :-$ Quote
iamded Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Not sure why the catapult has lever controls, but never mind. I always thought of Dwarves as quite technological, so maybe it's some new-fangled contraption they've whipped up? Imagine wooden levers and a maelstrom of cogs and gears inside. :-D I don't know about that. Surely the rubber band would just stay in place as the wheel turns. Wouldn't they have to put the part that holds the rubber band to one side of the wheel? I could be wrong though :-$ No, it works. I'm sure I've seen it done before. ~Peace Quote

I'm sure I've seen it done before. ~Peace Thats a pretty cool point, the dwarves do seem pretty technological from the Dwarf's Mine. Hey, maybe the catapult won't be as bad as we think it is, it looks to have some nice features and pieces. Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 ...Or maybe the dwarves have a strange love for blue elastic bands? Why did it have to be yet another catapult, we always get catapults!! I don't care how good the new one is *sing* ;-) Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 It is sad that we have gone from discussing new Lego sets to the colour of odd elastic bands in the space of around 3-4 posts. *wacko* As for the sets I love the look of the troll attack ship, looks like a slim-line boat and the added Giant troll with drums is hilarious. :-D Quote

Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 (edited) It's blue I tell you, Blue! I like the troll siege tower too, I have not commented on that set yet. Seems like a good source of new trolls and mysterious crownie towers. X-D Edited February 1, 2008 by Lord Of Pies Quote

I like the crownie tower too, though its pretty random, and the seige tower looks like it won't even get the chance to board it as it will be running it over :-D Plus you get a troll king in that set, and its well priced. Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
