iamded Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Also, I really hope they cost less than $20. And less than $15. And if it's not too much to ask $10.~ M ~ In one of the pictures the receipt from Legoland said 10 USD. Which is great news. :-D Unless Legoland sets cost more in other shops. 8-| ~Peace Quote
lego.ryan Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 :-D That is absolutely amazing. Hopefully the price won't be more than $150, or my parents will say no way. :-$ Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 It's definitely real, as the pictures were taken from LEGO's cache. They've taken the pics down now, though. The way some sets appear and then disappear from LEGO's cashe, you'd have to wonder whether they weren't intentionally leaking these to the AFOL community. Quote

Lol, it's almost as if they know exactly when sam is on, so they upload the pics whenever they see him sit down at the computer, and by a stroke of luck he finds them! :-D Once he puts em' on EB, off they go to make it look like they unintentionally put them there and didn't notice it until he posted them on the net! :-P Anyone notice the prison underneath the left(if you're on the evil side) tower? Its gate is made of big horns! 8- Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Lego knows how to make a good giant chess set! It look really good! Better than the previous mini-fig one! I luv the detail on it. *wub* I'm falling in love with a lot of Lego nowadays... 8- Quote
Corvus Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 The answer is... 42. X-D I support this message... After calming down (a bit), I probably won't be getting this. I like castles, but all my Castle sets are currently on top of the dresser, collecting dust. I'll wait until we get a beautiful UCS castle to display. :'-) Will Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 do anyone know when troll warrior impulse comes out? Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 If the german catalouge apply for the world or just europe this set came out in june with the 3 other Impuls-sets Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 If the german catalouge apply for the world or just europe this set came out in june with the 3 other Impuls-sets The French catalogue states the same ;-) *yoda* Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I'm more interested in the prospect of getting my hands on those battle packs. Given that they've been spotted in LEGOLAND Windsor and California, I'm wondering whether they will be available elsewhere. My current castle army is modest at best with only 250 or so troops. I was hoping to add another fifty or so with those sets. Impulse sets just aren't ideal for building a real army. Quote
iamded Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Anyone notice the prison underneath the left(if you're on the evil side) tower? I did! X-D So, this comes out in June then? So that's like... hmmm... about August-March for me then. X-D Which gives me plenty of time to save. *y* ~Peace Edited February 11, 2008 by iamded Quote
Oky Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) OK, usually I'm not a big fan of castle stuff... BUT THIS IS JUST AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! I mean, look at all those details: All those dwarves and orcs, all those weapons and flags, all those towers and that little gold mine... *wub* Just imagine what cool epic battle scenes one could set up with these! :'-) This year sure is a great year to be a castle fan! Too bad I am not one! :-P As lovely as this masterpice looks, I'm afraid I won't be getting this one as all my big money is gonna go into CW, Agents, and smaller Castle sets (BPs) this year. :'-( But maybe it will end up in the sales section with up to 50% off! *sweet* These are my feelings about the New Castle: I am usually more into futuristic Legos like SW, Agents, or Batman and used to dislike the castle theme for its simplicity: castles, knights, swords, horses, and maybe some wizards/witches and/or dragons. That was it. |-/ But since last year started getting much more interested in the whole Castle theme somehow. :-/ It all began when TLC decided to make the knights actually "shiny" and pit them against an army of UNDEAD *sweet* ! That was already pretty cool, but now they fight all new orcs and trolls, too, and have dwarves on their side! I am not sure why that makes Castle so much more interesting; I think it adds a great deal of a fantasy feel to the theme as it never had before (not even in Harry Potter) making it more LOTRishly epic! What I like best about the orcs is that they don't seem to have an HQ like a castle and employ very inventive vehicles instead! My faves are the Armored Wagon (pulled by a troll following food that is being held in front of him by the driver) and the Battle Wheel (a 2-wheel vehicle powered by orc feet)! What will those orcs think of next? X-D Btw, when does the orc stuff finally come out anyway? PS: How do you like my new avatar? X-D Edited February 11, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Given that they've been spotted in LEGOLAND Windsor and California, I'm wondering whether they will be available elsewhere. I didn't think Windsor was open till March? Or is the main shop open, sorry I havn't seen this mentioned in the rest of the thread. Also if they are about at Windsor does anyone know the price? Quote

Also if they are about at Windsor does anyone know the price? Interesting. I wonder where that UK seller on ebay got his hands on them. Right now, those and the advant calender are tops on my must have list for this year so I'm hoping that they are easy to come by. The tic-tac-toe sets came and went too fast for my tastes. This set also has the added benefit of having both soldiers and knights, so I am really hoping for info soon. Quote
natelite Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 hmm, so far TLC has steered away from making dwarves an engineering genius race. the mine defender while looking like an advanced machinery is still pretty crude. How would you feel if TLC decides to up it a little and perhaps start making "steam punkish" contraption for the dwarven race? things like steam powered helicopter (call it the dwarven gyrocopter - like from WoW), or steam tank, or buldozer, etc.? will you warm up to that idea? :-P Quote

Oky Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) NEVER!!!!! :-D Oh yeah! I remember those! That's kind of what I was thinking of when I first saw the dwarve & Troll stuff, too! Isn't it great how TLC revived this kind of creatively inventive-but-simple design? I think this calls for a contest! Check out my "Castle Wars" idea in the new contests thread! Check out my "Castle Wars" idea in the new contests thread! i think this set looks awesome, but i won't be buying it -- it will undoubtedly cost at least $170-$200 and i only want some of the figs -- namely the trolls, witch, and dwarves. I dont want to pay for the other stuff.. Quote
Oliverphoenix Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) The new chess set looks awesome but more of a collectors item than a army builder. Also has anyone else noticed that Lego Shop@home UK and other countries have new castle sets in?Like the Dwarve's Mine Defender and Tower raid etc?I'm sure they weren't around a day before so I had to order some : D. If TLC listed the new Castle sets on your SAH, where ever you are located, you should look around first. Why pay the shipping? ;-) Quote
metalandi Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 you're right, man. gonna check out my local stores tomorrow. Quote
