Castle sets 2008/2009

It makes me think that either TLC or retailers are not really supporting the Castle line - things are out in sporadic bursts with no real impetus to get the whole line (cf with Indy 4, for example, where all the sets really work well together as one mega-set). TLC sets release dates but they're all over the place. And some things don't get restocked, eg people have had problems finding King's Castle Siege. Hopefully 2009 will see a more coordinated approach - most other lines have simultaneous releases of linked products - why not Castle? I don't think it builds anticipation as most casual buyers have no idea what is released when anyway - if anything it just annoys people because they can't find the sets featured in the current release's instruction manuals.

I also don't see how it makes commercial sense for Lego to manufacture large quantities of Castle 08 sets in February and then warehouse them for 8 months!

By the way: Is the witch in the big chess set the same as the one in the advent calendar? And does someone now know if the advent calendar will be available in "normal" toy shops, too, and what it will include?

I wonder why they only post 3 new sets out of the 8 impulse sets. I would of thought they would release a whole new wave of sets?

Hopefully we will get the advent calendar in Australia too

Lego Australia informs me that the new Castle line is set for release in September! (spose i can use this time to save up the cash )

and the only stock of 7094 in Australia is TRU with 48 left Australia wide (just not the 2 i visited)

No, Nikola, this is just for the troll line (Tower Assault, Warship, Dwarves Mine Defender etc).

It's odd because it means they'll have been available at Shop at Home for 8 months prior to being in stores in Australia.

This new Jester head doesen't quite fit in with me... I think I'm getting the same reaction I got when I saw the first and second Flex(Alpha Team ).

I'd rather get two of those great lefty smiley mouths!

Thanks for the pics metalandi, I simply love that calender and must get it! The peasant torso looks wonderful, and the jester is fantastic, hopefully we'll be able to see what parts are in it soon

I just noticed on the box that the advent calender includes 24 gifts (including figures) so i believe there will be building required just like previous releases of city advent calenders. We may see scenes like the witch with cauldron and the dwarve sitting at a table.

On a side note its great to see so many australian castle fans posting in this topic.
