Wout Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 These here: They're actually included in the dwarve's mine set, and i believe also in some others before where they were used for "children". and for ewoks and house-elfs I like the extreme happy jester face. They have not so much that sort of faces. And you can always change him for a neutral face. the maid looks still good. I hope she has the same face as the princess. Pity we still not can see the witch. Quote
metalandi Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 According to the witch, i played a little with photoshop, and that came out: I know, not the best quality, but at least it's bigger. The face looks much more "witchy" than the one of the fright knights witch, and i love the dk. green torso Quote
MoonCheese Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I hope Lego comes out with a good witch, as I could use one for the Lego castle story I want to write (illustrated with pix of Lego). Who says witches have to be evil? Lego eventually gave us a good dragon (although the evil ones don't look evil or anything aside from the colours)... Quote
Pencoin Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 isnt the girls torso just the indy 4 marioan (sp) torso? Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 isnt the girls torso just the indy 4 marioan (sp) torso? WTF?????? You certainly have a very active imagination! Marion's wearing a vest and a white long-sleeved undershirt. Quote
Pencoin Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 sorry it was my first impression i havent seen the other one properly Quote
metalandi Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 and the "cleavage" actually wouldn't be yellow, if it was the same torso as marions. Quote
Archdoom Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Tru Australia has Troll Battle Wheel (60), as well as New Indy sets (all 4)I picked up the small indy set, which is loaded with cool accessories. still not sure if i want the BW or not! Thanks for the news, I should probably check that out when I have time. (Exams in a few weeks, and loads of tests etc before them, not to mention I'm pretty short on cash, spent much of what I saved on an IJ set, the one with the ark, because I was dying of not having a new lego set, and they were there, and castle wasn't. Good set though.) Also, on getting the calendar in Australia: well, I think we will get it, like we had the ability to get last year's calendars. It will likely be an S@H exclusive, like they were. And yeah, there is some building involved, normally, but tiny things, nothing large, at largest, the size of the impulse sets. (Think the size of the equipment in the soldier impulse, but maybe with less equipment). Have a look on bricklink if you want to get an idea. Quote
Jipay Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I hope we can get our hands on those fast here... Quote
Sir Dano Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 (edited) Edit: New sets found in U.S. confirmed.(last post on page) Edited May 16, 2008 by sir dano Quote
legobear Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I have not been on here for a LONG TIME, due to grad. school. Please Please if any has info, can you please tell me if LEGO decided to release a Dwarves only set (battle pack) or a set with lots of dwarves (besides the billion dollar chess set). Thanks alll!!! I've been waiting all year. Quote
iamded Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Well, there's the Dwarves Mine. I know, it's not what you wanted to hear, but the only sets that haven't been released that we know about so far are the Chess Set and the Advent Calendar. ~Peace Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 OK! For the U.S. people, I saw the Dwarves' Mine and got one at the TRU in Downers Grove Illinois. Also saw the Troll Warship, the Dwarf's Mine Defender, the Siege Tower, and the Troll Cart. So.....things are starting to show up! WOOT! But still no new impulse sets as of yet. Quote

Visorak-kal Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 For all U.S. Castle 2008 fans... Can't wait to get your hands on LEGO Castle 2008 sets, but don't have a TRU near you, or like me, are stuck with out-of-date stores? You're in luck, because you can now order three of the new 2008 Castle sets on Toysrus.com, just happened to notice that now. There's the Dwarf Mine Defender, the Tower Raid, and the Troll Battlecart. Prices are, as usual, about a dollar or two higher than Shop@Home should you wait for them to pop up there. Also, I think they are selling the Agents sets on TRU.com as well. Seems like those who are waiting for the Troll Warship (like me!) in the U.S. will have to wait some more for it to be available online. VK Quote
Zarkan Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 That castle advent callendar is simply amazing - Finally, exclusive figs that you can't get anywhere else! We've been needing that to happen for a while. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) That castle advent callendar is simply amazing - Finally, exclusive figs that you can't get anywhere else! We've been needing that to happen for a while. I totally agree with you, Grievous! In contrary to all the other "Castle" sets this and last year (despite from The Good Wizzard and The Good Knight) - which I really dislike because of this fantasy overcrowded aspect - I really  this advent calendar! Despite from the minifigs we already know for a long time: Does someone know more about its contents? Klaus-Dieter Edited May 20, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Dovchenko Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Last years castle was better, but only due to a lack of organization this year. Four orc vehicles, one good guy tower with a cart, barricade and dragon; and a random Dwarf Machine. It's like they expect you to have bought the earlier sets, as to have a "frame" for everything. The vehicle accompanies the mine, but there's a lack of any base- just Orc vehicles to fight it with- and far too many of those! A Crownie tower and stuff comes with the ORC sets I don't exactly want to collect. There is also a lack of two of my favourite factions: Dwarves and Skellies. Combining this year, we've got an impulse chariot and war machine for both of them- two dwarves and one skellie. And hundreds of useless Orcs? Along with the overuse of Orc Generals in some sets? Crownies at least get a tower and supplies, but there are so many Orcs- last years was understandable- an introduction to the Orc Raids of this year. But the lack of any buildings and skeletons/dwarves is just a pain. People LOVED the mine mostly for the dwarves. The orcs and troll of course, but the dwarves had the most appeal. So, we get two dwarves this year. Great. I like their vehicle a lot, at least. It looks like a wild contraption and though people thought it was ugly, it's like the dwarves-practical and efficient. It even looks cool if you ask me. The Orc Wheel was wonderful, people really liked that. But now with an airy 30$ set for the Orcs, a great 40$ set for the... Orcs, and an 80$ set for the... Orcs, I feel like I need a faction change. No 400 piece dwarf vehicles? No mine extensions? Not even a Dwarf Impulse?! Skellies got it bad with only one chariot and all. Last year, they didn't exactly rule either! The Crownies always seemed to have more. Dwarves are opinionably better than the others, and deserve more. The Advent's nice and I'm sure some people will love the chessboard, but in the end, it's the LEGO that counts. I'm just starting to collect now, and with Dwarves Mine out of Shop@Home, I can only really buy that machine. It's nice, but it DEFENDS THE MINE! Dwarves need something fast. The Orc Vehicles are nicely designed (the Wagon seems like a rip off for being only 10$ less than the Siege Tower and yet having half the pieces, as well as its airy design.) but it's unbalanced, and to be honest, not counting the mine defender, ship, wheel or siege tower, the lack of variety really ruins it for me. Only 2 possible new dwarves, and they're practically the same. I expected more, but still, design wise, the sets are nice. It's just that the wagon looks pretty effortless. Quote
Batbrick Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I'll have to agree with that. We only got very few dwarves this year, and too many orcs in comparison, I hope we can get more next year. Batbrick Away! Quote

But it's hard for someone who wants to collect dwarves, a favourite faction, who only has one small war machine and a base mainly meant for resources, not war (not in a bad way, I should buy the mine soon.) Visorak-kal Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) Technically, from the point of view of the majority of customers, you have to look at it as being 6 dwarves this year, because while being released Special Edition at the end of last year, the Dwarf Mine technically is a 2008 set, it was re-released on purpose. But yeah, I can see what you mean. I think that besides the mine there really should have been a large structure this year; the Troll Warship should have been the mid-size set at around 50-60 US dollars; instead, the price is 80 USD, and that ship does not compare to other sets of its price range, no matter how great a set it is. I think the Tower Raid is really the only well-organized set in terms of good versus evil equality. There are just so many troll siege machines, when you include the Troll Battle Wheel. I mean, I've got no problem with trolls since I am not a buyer of many, many sets, but I can see how collectors or MOCers could find themselves frustrated with somewhat a lack of variety that has accompanied what is otherwise a superb line in terms of design.
