Instructions for those who have forgotten about these sets.

I made that with out buying it

Sorry for the large pics, but I figured the resizer would do it's job to keep the thread tidy, and if you wanted a good view of the build, you can click the image to see a bigger version. :sweet:

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

In my Lego store in Cologne I found this piece of paper with pictures for all four corners.

The only special thing here is that the trolls/orcs like their flags.

Looks like the skeleton Knight has one of the scythe-blades/sword in black.

Nope. Check the zoom picture. :sceptic:

Ah well, black and grey wouldn't be so much of a colour difference anyway if you know what I mean.

We've only got the Troll Battle Wheel in Windsor, ON. Only a few copies left actually, all indy was sold out except for a single jungle cutter, the Ark set and about 10 copies of the motorcycle chase. :hmpf_bad:

Hey guys! I'm new here... so yeah.

I have to say that the new Fantasy Era Castle-line was the sole reason I got into legos after ten years. I've spent much of my salary into collecting the new sets, but I still lack about eight of them (getting the Skeleton Tower today, though).

I adore the dwarves and can't wait to see if Elves are really going to happen. I'm still a big fantasy fan despite being all grown-up and stuff. But I also want to cherish the child within me, so I returned to my lego-hobby.

Hmm, I had a point here to post... Oh yeah, my old legos are stashed away at my childhood home, but once I fetch them here to my own place, I'll try and build some castle creations of my own here. You guys are just so good that I don't know if I can match up, heh...

But yes, I too wish to see more Fantasy Era sets in the upcoming years. They could ease up with all the catapults, though, and come up with some other action features...

Good to see another AFOL discovering the child within again. You should post a hello thread over here so everyone can meet you!

Hope to see some castle creations soon :sweet:

Now I know that the Advent Castle Calender 7979 has been updated and now features new figs, and the pre-pic is no longer useful. However I was looking more closely at the pre-pic and it seemed to me that the knight was carrying a quite bright broad sword, and even looks like it might of been pearl or chrome gold. Below you can see the pic for your self. On another note does anyone know any information about the set, its release date(probably Sept) or any new pics floating around? Ive seen that on the new box pic there are the parts detail on the box top, any possible close-ups? Ide sure like to know more about this special set!

A major Italian online seller states this set will be available in September. Since we usually are the last in line, it will hardly hit the shops anytime later in the rest of the world.

Do you have any new pics, because as far as we know on EB this is the only pic seen, so we dont know if the calendar will be different or not.

Not that big of a difference. :sceptic: Just a change of colour for the Dwarf's beard (darn), a different face for the Jester, and new designs and clearer pics for the maiden and witch. Okay, so that's quite a few differences.

<snip>

has this been spotted yet or is it out already?

steel...

ps: the maiden looked hotter with the first design...

I'm pretty sure I saw I review of this somewhere around here... An exclusive to Legoland or something.

And the first maiden may look hotter, but the new one has more 'defined' curves.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this, and I apologise if they have, but the Lego Castle page has been updated, and now features a story section. It explains the alliance between the Undead and the Orcs, characteristics of the Dwarves and Trolls, and the story of the turkey leg on a stick  But dragon enthusiasts be warned, for there is plenty anti-dragon propaganda here

It can be found here.

I don't like the sound of that, I better go read it to see what I'm up against...

EDIT: Ah huh. Not to bad. But the writer definitely got some things wrong. He got some things right though, like dragons love gold, as well as any shiny and/or precious objects. However I don't like the way dragons have been treated in this little story. It's not their faults they're in love with gold. It's just in their nature.

I would go on but I'm supposed to be working on an English Research paper, so I'll stop...

...for now...

I wouldn't agreed less. I thought TLC had forgotten about updating those pages. I am glad they did. At least, it gave us some insights towards this Castle theme. :classic:
