Eldar Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 (edited) Judging from the fact that it has sets and other such things inside, I think that we can assume that it is real, and also we might see a medieval Santa Claus in the advent calander. Although the analogy seems a little off-topic and farfetched...I doubt TLC would draw something like that if they didn't want to make that faction. The Santa Claus was a bit far fetched but think about the Elves position, behind the Crown Castle close to nothing of enemy significance. So I believe that we might either see a revised map or a completely new map !! What does a Castle Santa look like in relation to a normal Santa ?! Edit: I just looked at the map and i guess they are somewhat close to the sea?, but I like my new map Idea better. Edited July 26, 2008 by Eldar Quote

I think a ye olde santa would bring weaponry to knights and more spells for Wizards, as for his look, a staff and a red wizard hat, he's also a Dwarf (i'm shooting this form the top of my head, so I guess this isn't all right ) Quote
iamded Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) Isn´t that enough conformation? Conformation? Noun conformation (plural conformations) The act of conforming; the act of producing conformity. The state of being conformed; agreement; hence; structure, as depending on the arrangement of parts; form; arrangement. I think you mean confirmation. Anywho, I do like the idea of a medieval Santa, all armoured up and ready to deliver presents. Or perhaps a skellie Santa, with his cadaverous sleigh hauled along by undead horses. :skull: ~Peace Edited July 27, 2008 by iamded Quote
Dragonator Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 About this amazing calender, has anyone else heard anything about a release date? I just ordered one for myself through the New Zealand Lego Club. Sometimes it's good to be part of that club. Anyway, that's being delivered in the first week of November. I can't wait to get it! Medieval Santa ON! And Skellie Santa too! Quote

Now you made me to don´t post in this thread for one week! *Go away with tickets for a fly to London*^^ P.S. I was yesterday in Cologne and every shop with LEGO sets had the whole 2008 Castle line. P.P.S. @ Sandy: It would be a little mean to the little kids that are paying for the LEGO magazine, that makes them get the idea of getting elves and LEGO can´t afford that. And what´s so hard about making a new helmet piece, a new hairpiece and a few new printings for the elv figures? P.P.P.S. LEGO doesn´t make confirmations for any new LEGO sets (except the Indy sets) that aren´t printed in the store catalogues. Edited July 29, 2008 by Navy Trooper Fenson Quote

And what´s so hard about making a new helmet piece, a new hairpiece and a few new printings for the elv figures? For cripes sake, I'm not saying it may not happen because elves would be hard or impossible to manufacture, I'm just saying that we have no solid proof of the line existing. For the last time, I want it to happen, but I'm not naïve enough to start jumping around announcing things that don't yet exist because of one single drawing. We will know for sure when we see pictures of the sets (or a representative of the Lego Group says so). That's the confirmation we all are waiting for, simple as that. Now let it go, please. Quote
AmperZand Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 About this amazing calender, has anyone else heard anything... Sorry, I don't have any more info about a release date or the contents. I'm thinking there may be a complete turkey in the set of which the dwarf shown on the box is eating a drumstick. That's pure conjecture on my part BTW. Quote

Or maybe just hope rather than conjecture. Seeing as we haven't seen one of those 'body' pieces for 9 years in a Lego set, I'm not sure there would be one. :skull: Quote

You could well be right but it wouldn't be the first time TLC had reintroduced a part after a prolonged absence or dearth. Take the shortsword for example. For a few years, not many appeared in sets only to see a comeback of late with the Fantasy Era knights. So while it may not be very likely the turkey will be in this year's advent calendar, I'm not discounting the possibility either. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Wow, nearly 100 pages in this topic. You guys really need to stop the speculation and leave this topic under the table until the sets come out. Otherwise there's really nothing to talk about. Quote
Quarryman Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Wow, nearly 100 pages in this topic. Only 38 pages here, but that's still a lot. I'd love to be able to get more posts in one go, 40 just isn't enough You guys really need to stop the speculation and leave this topic under the table until the sets come out. Otherwise there's really nothing to talk about. Actually, afterwards we can talk about how satisfied/disappointed we are because the sets were so great/bad, and whether they were exactly like we hoped or not, or better. So you see, there will be plenty to talk about once the sets come out. Quote

Quarryman Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 What?... There's 100. :skull: If you set your preferences to show the maximum number of posts on each page (40), there will 38 pages in this topic. Quote

So that's 1500 posts, I think. And yes, I said(I think ) that until the new sets(if any) come out or are announced... Oh who am I kidding? Keep the topic alive until they come out, right? OK then, carry on with your time tested chatter. Quote
hewkii9 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Here's some quality Lego Castle Talk - Anyone think that we might be getting a horse and skellie horse in the Advent Calendar? It'd make it easier on the designers and happier for us if we were to get a couple o' horses. Quote

It'd make it easier on the designers and happier for us if we were to get a couple o' horses. It would be great to have a horse included in this brilliant advent calendar, hewkii9. But I really doubt it since TLG is at the most time thinking about how much playability a (part of a) set affords. And they supposably think that it would afford more playability to include a little prison, a treasure box, ... And there is the important point of costs - horses are very expensive. And there are the little 24 "molds" - I don't think that a horse would lack space in them. And for the skeletton horses I think it's the same. I personally think that if TLG included a horse in the advent calendar they would have put it on the box that everyone can see it immediately. - But of course nobody can know. frogstudio Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 For those of you interested... :) Question to LEGO Customer service: "Dear Sirs, I'm planning on buying the Giant Castle Chess set (852293)and wanted to know if it comes pre built or if pieces come in thei poly bags for one to build it. Many thanks, Gonzalo" Answer: "You will be able to build the scenery for this great new LEGO Giant Castle Chess Set, item #852293. The mini-figures/pawns will be pre-assembled but you are able to take them apart if you would like to." To me, really good news... :) Quote
metalandi Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 That's what i wanted to hear. So, pre-built minifigs for display in the box, but the chess board itself is yet to be built. Now i just have to gain some money to get this Quote

metalandi Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) Seems someone got the set already over at classic castle, and did a little review here: http://www.classic-castle.com/forum/viewto...p=176265#176265 There has already been posted a part inventory on bricklink: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.as...amp;v=1&b=0 Going through that. i will buy this set for SURE. All other sets i wanted to buy, must wait. Edited August 5, 2008 by metalandi Quote
Derek Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) Wow, I would like to have the job of building the minifigures etc. That might get a little boring after a bit though... But it contains 288 EACH of the black and white tiles. Edited August 5, 2008 by darthperson Quote
metalandi Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) I almost missed, that we also got another pic of the witch now, i enlightened it a bit, since the original is a bit too dark: I'm looking forward to the first one here getting it and doing a picture review Edit: If you count, the thing with the 288 is right. There's 64 general fields in full, that makes 32 of each color. Every field containing 9 2x2 Tiles makes 288 of each color in total. Just wanted to test myself if i'm still good at maths Edited August 6, 2008 by metalandi Quote
