It would be awesome if there would come a impulse set (€2,99) with a dwarf (no winged helmet!) with some cool accessoires like gold ores and a pick axe... *sight*

Hmm, yea it would be cool. It should have some cool stuff packed into it, like a Mine cart with some jewels and something else, then it'd be one of the best Impulses ever made!

I would love a Dwarven battlepack with 4 different dwarves, 4 different helmets, 4 the same dwarven shields and something like a mine cart with cristals

or a dwarven impulseset with 1 dwarf, 2 different helmets and 2 different beards. (one for work and one for the weekend  )

Yeah, I definitely hope Dwarves will be given a major focus in next year's line up. I also hope a new faction is also here, and that Orcs are given much less treatment, like the same as the dwarves: A base and then only in a couple of other sets as minifigs.

Batbrick Away!

Actually, i don't want a new faction yet. I know it may be sound strange for the some of you, but i think TLC musn't rush with new factions and stuff.

Yes, you're right. I hope to get more orcs and dwaves this coming year. Hopefully battle packs are set to release for those two factions, and perhaps TLG can introduce two new ones next year (I say two assuming that elves will be on the Crownies side, so the Skellie side needs another faction as well, perhaps goblins).

I wouldn't mind a Dwarves Battle Pack! Now that I recently expanded my mine into a mountain fort thing I just need some Dwarves to fill in the cracks!

P.S. I just hope they don't do Dwarf women.

Although I must say that I'm really not interested in all that fantasy stuff (aside from a dwarves' hutt which TLG surely won't release) here my thoughts:

Since it seems as if there is an orcs' castle next year I think that there will not be a new fraction. TLG will imo extend the dwarves and orcs subtheme and perhaps give you the opportunity to get some locations for these two fractions where they might live, eat, sleep, battle, celebrate, ... since (aside from the Dwarves' Mine) there were no locations for these two fractions this year. So let's see.

I personally hope for an add-on to the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village later in 2009.

I don't think they'd do this. I mean yeah, it is the fantasy era, but the idea of a female dwarf did not even have tolkien himself yet

In tolkiens stories there were female Dwarves as is told in "the Hobbit" that Fili and Kili are the sons of the sister of Thorin. I read never very more about female dwarves there, but in the movie Gimli told something about mankind who thought all Dwarves are male, because the females also have beards.

Terry Pratchet use this idea also for his Discworld series where the first female dwarf who wears a skirt still wears a beard and a dwarvenhelmet (you can be a female, but it doesn't mean youre also no Dwarf) and diveded the dwarves in the City of Ank-Morphork.

personally I don't care if they are male or female, but a dwarf house would be nice.

10193 is the time for the 2 lego castle series through a shop at home but we can bring out even more in 2009 expect that someone already knows

Thank you very much for that news, legomilk! :sweet:

Since I don't understand the sentence completely: Did you mean that there'll be - aside from the regulary "Castle" sets which you can buy in toy shops, too - more exclusive S@H sets like 10193 next year?

That would be brilliant! :oh: (indeed not for my wallet, but ... )

I'm planning a female dwarf MOC minifig using the maid but with this hair and a skirt made from a slope like this but in reddish brown or dark blue. She won't have a beard! :sweet:

Nope I don't think so.

The questions is: Is this a castle set at all?

I've seen prelims of different sets like this and it seems TLG is doing a "basic" creator line with a dash of castle or pirates or city.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

I really hope that the future of Castle lies in the hands of a Creator set with bright colored bricks and a Figure thrown in.

Screw the elves we can recreate out favourite child hood adventures (well maybe a bit before my childhood adventures) with the new Castle vintage lego theme! No more one piece horses we get to have out very own brick built ones to recreate the golden days where lego has fewer specialised parts. Shame we don't get the old figs with it though  .

I can't really understand that fixation with the yellow castle... I mean, thinking of it as the "classic" LEGO castle, when in fact, it was the ONLY castle to be built that way. Personally, I think that the Black Falcon's Fortress reflects more the "Classic Lego Castle" and REALLY hope that TLG won't go the way of the yellow one (wouldn't mind if it was re-released as a collectors item). Just my thoughts...

I'm with you. I don't know if I dare to say it, but the yellow castle looks downright ugly in my opinion.

But on the other hand, compared to the other sets sold back in those days, it fits. And it really makes me appreciate how far the Castle Theme has come since then - the yellow castle and the Medieval Market Village don't even look like they're the same toy!

Arw man girl.

You're looking for a fight now.

I cried tears of desperation when the yellow castle didn't become a legend some years back.

Don't get me started on why it's the best castle ever made.

Now get back on topic both of you or else....:laugh:
