Klaus-Dieter Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) I'm hoping for some kind of court/tournament scene. Presumably the jester will appear in the same set as the queen. Maybe as has been suggested, some kind of tournament scene will double as an anniversary set, reminiscent of the early classic castle one, in the same way Town Plan (a modern set design) echos the old town plan. To say it again: In the forum from where I quoted the information of a jubilee set, it was said that it'll be a little set - so (imo) no whole castle and even no set which will be as big as the brilliant Town Plan. But of course I agree with you, brickzone - this jubilee set will be surely something which will remind us of the classic castle sets - mainly the first ones which were designed and released. It's a great idea of having the jester in this jubilee set - I didn't think of that yet! So perhaps for a possible tournament: king, queen, jester, two knights and two different knights on horseback (TLG included in the last time always many minifigs in the "Castle" sets). We will presumably have a castle set next year with the witch - it is unlikely it would be a once-off design just for the Advent calendar. I thought of that several times, too, brickzone. The witch was not only included in the advent calendar but even in the big chess set. Nevertheless I have my doubts whether these should be the only sets which inlcude her. On the other hand the princess minifig was only included in this horrible Skeletton Tower. So perhaps the witch was only designed for the two sets, too. Nobody knows. But the orc queen seems to be an official new minifig. And since the evil fraction then would already have their leader - what to do with a witch?! I am not sure if Legomilk meant this way, but I will try. 10193, Medieval Market Village is one of the 2 exclusive Castle sets from 2009 which will be available in Shop@Home. However, we will be expecting more surprises for 2009 if someone has already got hold of the information. Thank you very much for this "translation", WhiteFang! So hopefully we'll see an add-on for the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village! i like the way you think. unfortunately you know as well as i do that the second "knight" is either going to be the undead knight/champion or a troll warrior. either way, it is going to be an excellent set nevertheless. I'm not that sure, natelite. I mean: On the one hand you're right since it surely would be less work and less costs for TLG to release a jubilee set with a tournament where a king's knight fights against a troll or an undead. On the other hand firstly - like already mentioned - this would destroy the whole lovely and (more or less) realistic atmosphere of the set, secondly it would take away the classic style/design/mentality and thirdly you can never know. Nobody expected a set like the excellent Medieval Market Village (in the next years) - and what will TLG release?! Consequently this might be even possible for the jubilee set. TLG designed three new torsos for the amazing 10193 set - so again one new torso for the jubilee set surely would not been too bad/costly for TLG - plus the most people which will buy this set surely will be the same people which will buy the excellent 10193 set, so people which really want classic styled set with more or less classic characters. So let's see! And let's hope that we'll get a tournament without fantasy creatures! Klaus-Dieter Edited November 3, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Inertia Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) Wow, that new queen minifig is simply Awesome! I'm loving the idea of a new double sided head, I hope TLC keep making more, they're so useful! As for an add-on to the Marketplace, along the lines of a set the same size but with some different buildings, that would be awesome, but not just a parts pack that makes somethings that you can only build if you have a Medieval Marketplace. I wonder if we'll see a new Orc King minifigure? And are we certain that's the queen? She looks more of a Shaman/Wizard... For the other Jubilee set, I want to see a Minifigure pack that contains figs from all the factions, like two for each or something, with some peasant figures as well, but something like a Jousting set would be cool as well. DJ Force Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Soooo.... Apart from the Marketplace and two female minifigs... When do you all think we could expect pics of new sets for 2009? Since my wife got into castles recently, I am thinking about getting her something as a birthday present. But her birthday already is in february. So the only set I could get is the marketplace, but she´s going to buy that on herself. We´ve already seen Power Miners, City farms, Pirates... Where are all the cool Castle sets? Quote
WhiteFang Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 We´ve already seen Power Miners, City farms, Pirates... Where are all the cool Castle sets? I believe the Castle theme will be schedule for 2nd half of 2009 release, in around September apart from the Medieval Market village earlier next year. All of us can't wait for the new Castle sets. Dwarvenlord Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Hmm... the chariot would be nice to improve the skellie cavalry or just the white skelly infantry (as i have almost only black ones because of the chess set ). The knight is actually very dissapointing. NO shield and another catapult! Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Not not mention the barrel, and those darned useful 1x2 brown slopes and 1x1 grey cylinders... Quote
Dwarvenlord Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I think i have enough barrels lying around but you're right, those brown slopes could eventualy used in trees or particular buildings. Quote
randomparrot Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I hope they do come out, they'd be useful for armies. Quote
KimT Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I hope they do come out, they'd be useful for armies. They wont. They never went into production and they never will. It happens, just think of the Star Wars mini sets that's never been released, but has their instructions on LEGO's instructions page and several others on the internet. Accept and move forward in this discussion please (Do what I've done. Download the instructions and build them yourself) Quote
pfb Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 (Do what I've done. Download the instructions and build them yourself) This is the first time I've seen those two pics - wow! Could you please let me know where to find the instructions? Many thanks, Paul. Quote

hewkii9 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Really? I rarely use Peeron's instructions - hccamsterdam loads faster for me and it doesn't take 3 years for them to go up. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 (edited) I, too, now think that these two Impulse sets will never be released. Ok, the king's soldier with the catapult perhaps - since the king's soldiers will surely appear in next year's Castle theme again. But the skeletton chariot surely not - since we (hopefully) won't see again some of this undead on the Castle theme in the future. But now back to possible Castle 2009 sets: I thought again about where the queen minifig might appear. And I came to the result: There might be an Impulse set in which she's included - perhaps with davenport (in the Middle Ages nearly only ecclesiastical "people" and very noble women were aible to write, you know). I agree that this sounds very unrealistic. But only think about this year's wizzard Impulse set. Imo it's inapprehensible why TLG releases Impulse sets which include a special character of which you do only need one since then you even surely only buy one set. Impulse sets should be army building sets (which do not necessarily have to include only soldiers - but minifigs of which you need many exemplars). To other possible sets: How do you rate the possibility for a dwarves' hut next year? Klaus-Dieter Edited November 10, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
The Cobra Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Brickset has had those sets categorized since they were first announced, and I believe that those two sets are not coming out, at least during 2008. It seems like some actually owns them. See 5372 and 5373. Quote
metalandi Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I just noticed that the short review for the catapult on brickset is from VBBN, he's also active here. maybe he can tell us a bit more about these sets. Quote
cagri Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 An Australian retailer says we will have these sets in 2009: 7078 - Kings Battle Chariot 7079 - Drawbridge Defence 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress Quote
Asuka Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Now that sounds interesting, thanks cagri! Quote
