metalandi Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress I can already almost see this The other sets sound to me like crownie sets, wh9ich is good imo, cause this past year was mostly troll-themed. Quote
The Rancor Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 An Australian retailer says we will have these sets in 2009:7078 - Kings Battle Chariot 7079 - Drawbridge Defence 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress Ah! I knew there would be a troll fortress! I'm interested to see what 'drawbridge defence is considering it's unlikely to contain a whole castle. Thanks cagri Quote

Thanks for the info! Drawbridge defense sounds great I hope it's cheap Btw, how did you hear from the Aussie retailer when you live i turkey, if it's confidential then dont worry Quote
WhiteFang Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 An Australian retailer says we will have these sets in 2009:7078 - Kings Battle Chariot 7079 - Drawbridge Defence 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress Thanks Cagri. I trust you and its look very promising by just looking at the set name. Do share with us some pictures if you come across any. Quote
Pickerel Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 But now back to possible Castle 2009 sets: I thought again about where the queen minifig might appear. And I came to the result: There might be an Impulse set in which she's included - perhaps with davenport (in the Middle Ages nearly only ecclesiastical "people" and very noble women were aible to write, you know).I agree that this sounds very unrealistic. But only think about this year's wizzard Impulse set. Imo it's inapprehensible why TLG releases Impulse sets which include a special character of which you do only need one since then you even surely only buy one set. Impulse sets should be army building sets (which do not necessarily have to include only soldiers - but minifigs of which you need many exemplars). To other possible sets: How do you rate the possibility for a dwarves' hut next year? I think that, although nice for army builders, impulse sets are also meant to be a little set for kids to be satisfied without emptying their parents wallet. How many children actually make an army of 40 orcs? After all, they are going to be the main buyers of a set! Dwarves' Hut sounds nice! An Australian retailer says we will have these sets in 2009:7078 - Kings Battle Chariot 7079 - Drawbridge Defence 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress I hope you're right! The Mount Fortress sounds like a cross between Agents' Volcano Base and the Vikings' Fortress! Quote
cagri Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 wow, this sounds great! Thanks for the info! Drawbridge defense sounds great I hope it's cheap Btw, how did you hear from the Aussie retailer when you live i turkey, if it's confidential then dont worry The same way you're hearing from a Turkish guy when you live in Australia, internet :) It's not confidential or anything. Maxlego (Brett) has a copy of the retailers catalog for 2009 and he posted some of the set names on Bricklink. He doesn't have any images though, I didn't ask if he could take some pictures. But I don't think he's playing with us. Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 An Australian retailer says we will have these sets in 2009:7078 - Kings Battle Chariot 7079 - Drawbridge Defence 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress My thoughts - 7078 - Cheap king minifig please? 7079 - Sounds epic, I hope it's done on a raised baseplate. 7097 - Why the different numbers? Imagine the dark brown tho... *drools* All of them - Dammit TLG stop making so many nice sounding sets... Quote
Pencoin Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I like the sound of those sets, I'll see what they are like, and I might get them. Quote
Matteo Kenobi Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Wow thanks for the information this is great, man my wallet just can't seem to get a break. I hope the Drawbridge defense is crownie and somewhat large, or at least bigger then the Gargoyle bridge from Knights Kingdom 2. The Troll Mountain Fortress definitly sounds interesting, I can imagine it will have a few BURPs which is ok I suppose, but it sounds very interesting none the less and I can't wait for pictures. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Troll Mountain fortress must have that troll witch we saw earlier. The drawbridge sounds good; I always prefer structure and mountain buildings than lots of vehicles. I hope the chariot has some good stuff... Quote
hewkii9 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I wonder what set the queen'll be in then. Quote
The Kid Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm guessing if these were true the Queen would be in the Mountain Fortress. But only three sets? I hope this line isn't dying out... TK Quote
UsernameMDM Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm guessing if these were true the Queen would be in the Mountain Fortress. But only three sets? I hope this line isn't dying out... TK Don't forget the Village Market, skellie chariot and crownie catapult. They so close to 09, you might as well count them as such. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 An Australian retailer says we will have these sets in 2009:7078 - Kings Battle Chariot 7079 - Drawbridge Defence 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress Thank you very much for that information, cagri! I (supposably) won't care about these sets since they surely wilk include orcs . I look forward to buy the amazing Medieval Market Village and - depending on what it'll include - perhaps the jubilee set. I hope the Drawbridge defense is crownie and somewhat large, or at least bigger then the Gargoyle bridge from Knights Kingdom 2. I totally agree with you, Matteo Kenobi! I, too, think that the Drawbridge Defense will be something very similar to the Gargoyle Bridge from KK 2 - perhaps a bridge with a gate, a catapult and some crownies and orcs. Klaus-Dieter Quote
legobear Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm pretty certain the troll mountain will have a dwarf or two (orcs definitely included). My other guess is that these dwarves will also have the newer shields found in some other ads?? When will they finally release some stand alone dwarf battle packs though The king's chariot may be the one with the queen. However, I am waiting for a set with that jester , wonder when it'll ever come. It's strange they didn't include him in the medieval town. The drawbridge is definitely going to be a crownie, I agree with you guys on that one. C'mon TLC more dwarves more dwarves , battle pack please, there are lots of ppl waiting for this one. Quote
legomilk Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 maybe you have the little holes in the castle but lego is little about the lord of the rings. Almost everything in the films occurred in the last few years almost as lego brought out. But it does not stay with 3 sets hear ..... Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Alright, the names are out! That means the waiting for pics has officially started. They all sound cool to me. It's great to see TLC back on the right track with Castle. It's the theme that got me out of my Dark Ages (kind of fitting, right - Castle / Dark Ages? ) Picture hunt on!! (Anyone remember when there used to be numerous posts ending with "(something) on!"? I miss those days... ) Quote

blueandwhite Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I'm guessing if these were true the Queen would be in the Mountain Fortress. But only three sets? I hope this line isn't dying out... TK Do you mean the human Queen or the Troll Queen? I kind of suspect that the human Queen might come with some other set. None of these sets seems to fit well with the figure. Idon't see her as being another damsel in distress (the angry head certainly doesn't fit with that image). Perhaps LEGO has something else in the pipeline. Quote
KimT Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I've added cagri's list to the first post for future reference. Thanks cagri Quote
Christian Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 According to this the piece count for each of the new sets are as follows: LEGO 7078 Castle King's Battle Chariot 103 pieces LEGO 7079 Castle Drawbridge Defense 335 pieces LEGO 7097 Castle Trolls' Dark Fortress 844 pieces Quote

Now, if there is anyone could have some nice pictures to spare? I am surprised by the piece count for the Troll Dark Fortress. It looks a little small. Perhaps, more BURPS to make it look massive? gladiator Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 wow, quicky rumors.... thank you very much Cagri and Christian perhaps in Monday or Tuesday, we find pictures... please and castle lovers will knock out again Quote

The king's chariot may be the one with the queen. I don't think so, legobear, since the set name is called King's Battle Chariot. And I don't think that the queen will fight with a sword against some ugly trolls. I kind of suspect that the human Queen might come with some other set. None of these sets seems to fit well with the figure. Idon't see her as being another damsel in distress (the angry head certainly doesn't fit with that image). Perhaps LEGO has something else in the pipeline. As I already mentioned, blueandwhite: Imo the queen surely will be included either in an Impulse set or - which I think is more supposable - in the Castle jubilee set. Klaus-Dieter Quote
