Castle sets 2008/2009

According to this the piece count for each of the new sets are as follows:

LEGO 7078 Castle King's Battle Chariot 103 pieces

LEGO 7079 Castle Drawbridge Defense 335 pieces

LEGO 7097 Castle Trolls' Dark Fortress 844 pieces

Even though four Castle-sets isn't that many, at least there's good hope now that each of these sets will be downright epic! I will surely purchase every one of these, as well as the Medieval Market Village.

Concerning the new minifigs, it's quite obvious that the Troll shamaness will appear in the fortress, but the Crown Queen could be in either of the other two. I also wish for a Crown King in one of these sets, because I lack one.

I agree with Klaus-Dieter that it seems unlikely the Queen minifig will be in any of these sets, and will appear in the as yet unknown "anniversary" Castle set. The proposition of a "tournament" style set reminiscent of the original one (second castle set ever) does seem not too unlikely.

Troll's Mountain Fortress sounds uber-cool. The others may or may not be good. Of course that applies to the Troll fortress too - but I think they'd have to really try hard to mess that one up, whereas a drawbridge defense or chariot could easily be lack-lustre. Hoping for good things though!

I think he's referring to the crownie queen, not the orc queen. i personally think, it could be included in every of these sets or in none of them. i could imagine good that it will be included as prisoner in the troll fortress, like the princess was in the skeleton tower. But we have to wait and see, anyway all of those sets sound very good to me, especially the fortress!

Only three castle sets. That seems a few too few... I guess the queen could be in the drawbridge set. Are we sure she is coming with a castle set and not pirates or some other line? Seems like I heard talk about some "mystery line" in the future. Not sure if the theme was mystery or if the actually theme was unknown and therefore a mystery...

I'm sure we're seeing 5 maybe they just aren't for general release? All three sound good thoughI'm really looking forward to the Troll castle, though I'm still holding out hope for a crown knights ship at some point.

Further I think there will be another advent calendar as they sold out before we even statred November!

These sound like cool sets. I only wish there were more. I was hoping that the Elves would be brought in, but I guess we will have to wait. Still, all of these sound cool. I just hope that the Troll castle isn't like the Skeleton castle. Boring and not playability.

Aniversary set?

Yes, blueandwhite, it seems as if there is a Castle jubilee set. I already wrote that some pages ago and even added the link to the source (rgrettably only German).

I'm hoping that it'll be a very classic designed and classic styled set and as amazing as the Medieval Market Village - but I can well think that this will be the case.

I'm guessing there'll be more Castle sets, but if thee are all, then I'm still psyched for the Troll Mountain Fortress. Sounds fantastic, and I can't pass up on the troll witch.

Although I really don't like the fantasy era in the Castle theme I must say that this is a fantastic creature. And I really want one. But because of this I surely won't buy the whole fortress.

I can't wait to see what that Troll Mountain Fortress will look like. The Troll witch will be a sweet addition to the Troll army. Hmm, that sad minifig face in the 6241 Loot Island Pirates set would make for a good prisoner's face. Ooh, can't wait!

I cant wait to see what the AFOL's designed for this coming year. Im not sure if you all remember they called in some AFOLs to help with designing the 07 line relaunch of Castle. For 08 TLC designed the sets themselves, however they called upon more AFOL's for the 09 sets.

Hopefully this means nicely designed sets

I am very much doubting the troll mountain fortress will be a castle at all. I am thinking it will be more like a troll mountain fortress! The Hag will certainly be in this set. She looks incredible. I am thinking the fortress will be rocky (some burps and lurps) with lots of sharp spiky protrusions (spears, teeth pieces, etc.) The fortress itself likely a combo of rock and wooden fortifications. I imagine it kind of random and not an organized defense at all. I don't think this will resemble the skeleton tower at all. The piece count is much more substantial so it will be much bigger. I am very excited about it. I am hoping the dwarves are facing off with the trolls in this set. Goodness knows I've got too many crownies by this point already. I'm gonna have more because I collect all of the sets and there seems to be no end of the crownies being released. I am surprised by this as the crownies as a faction are in their 3rd year now.

The King's battle chariot. Hmm... I don't really see the queen being released in this set. If the set was called the Kings carriage I could see it... but a battle chariot. I just hope this isn't released with a King minifig. I hate when small sets that you can buy multiples of, come with figures that you only need one of. Lastly 105 pieces for a chariot seems like a lot, unless something else comes along with this set.

Drawbridge defense. Sounds interesting. I am hoping again that this is a dwarf set. But I doubt that. It will be a valuable addition to most peoples Kings castle sige. I will likely use this as a parts set. Again more crownies I do not need. The queen may show up in this set?

I am looking forward to more dwarves and trolls. These figs are rare and expensive to obtain in mass. If you don't have a lot of crownies by now you don't really want or can't afford to get a lot of them. They are plentiful everywhere. I would love to see another human faction released this year. If that happens I will jump for joy!

This is not the full release of the 2009 castle sets. These will be spring release sets. The majority of the sets will be released in the summer like they were last year in the USA. We must all be patient. Although it must be harder for people in other countries. The 2008 sets were released much earlier for you folks, and hence a longer wait between product lines.

Lastly KimT is right those sets are not likely to be released. Being a veterinarian I would have to confirm that there is no puppy in that photo. However, I thought it was a puppy too!
