Dwarvenlord Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think KKI was a very good theme! The buildings weren't that great but they had some awesome minifigs and cool catapults and stuff for the bull knights Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I missed KKI and KKII during my Dark Ages. But when I look at photos from these sets, I must say that they look very bad! So, in a way I'm glad that I mised them. I feel no desire to buy these sets. Quote
WhiteFang Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Everyone, Shall we keep this discussion within its intended context which is addressing Castle Sets 2008 and 2009. Thanks. Quote
Inertia Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Everyone,Shall we keep this discussion within its intended context which is addressing Castle Sets 2008 and 2009. Thanks. Agreed. Does anyone have any ideas of the impulse sets for this year? Hopefully we see some great set pictures soon, the blurry ones just aren't enough at the moment, and just a question for anyone that knows the release date of the medieval marketplace in Singapore or Australia? KimT Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I don't think a dwarf impulse will be in the upcoming wave, but we could always hope for more sets in the autumn/winter wave... the retailer catalog for that period hasn't hit the stores yet. At least not to my knowledge. Quote
Derek Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I am in dire need of Dwarf figures, so hopefully they release a Dwarf Impulse set. Dire (adj)- desperate: fraught with extreme danger; nearly hopeless; "a desperate illness" I don't think anyone can be in dire need of little plastic men. No, but really, I wish they would release one too. Sadly, I don't think they will if they haven't already... Quote

I am guessing they won't release one either in this wave, considering none of the other sets include Dwarves, at least from what I can see. Quote
WhiteFang Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Does anyone have any ideas of the impulse sets for this year? From my understanding, there seemed to be nill impulse sets for castle. I might be wrong on this, as it's still too early away from summer to cast the results. Just a question for anyone that knows the release date of the medieval marketplace in Singapore or Australia? Inertia, this is a question which I have wondered for a very long time regarding the Singapore market. At this moment, the 10193 is still Shop@Home exclusive and there is no news whether it will arrive our shores or not. There could be a chance for other shops to import their own consignment and charged at a premium price. If you want to discuss more on this set, let's talk about it in here. Quote
The Penguin Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 In current Trade Catalogue I saw no impulse sets but, indeed, they may come later. Quote
Dadster Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 A Dwarven impulse set would make the most sense, but Trolls (Orcs!!) and Crownies seem to be getting the "lions share" of the Castle theme lately [MMV] and in the future [rumored Troll Mountain Fortress]. Perhaps, like others have postulated, they'll come along later in the year. I'd personally like to see a Dwarven impulse reveal some new coloring of beard (Blond? Gray? reg Brown?). Quote
DaleDVM Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I want to see a dwarf battle pack. Any single dwarf in numbers looks silly because they all have the same beard color. I already have way too many with the red beard from last years releases. The advent calendar had a brown beard. Only could pull off two of those sets though here in the US. If the chess set ever comes down in price I will buy them in spades to build up my dwarf army. Quote

Dwarvenlord Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Yeah - I gone to changing up the legs and/ or sleeves to provide a little variety in numbers. I'm already using a alternative for the stubby legs for my dwarves - i use a sort of brick-built plate skirts Quote

Greetings Bricks Bricks, this is the second time we've removed pics like this from one of your posts. Please don't do it again. Just to clarify for everyone, anything stamped "Confidential" shouldn't be posted. If a pic is so blurry you can only make out colored blobs that slightly resemble LEGO, chances are that picture was taken without permission from TLG. We wouldn't like those pics posted here. Thanks. Sorry my mistake Something like this will never happen..I pledge! But I can wrote what's inside this set?! Because it could be that I just tell my stupid lies 7078 Castle King's Battle Chariot: (With two troll's and horse carriage with two knights.) 7079 Castle Drawbridge Defense: (A tower from the good knights and an attacking skellet horse from the troll's. The two fronts are seperated with an bridge. With 2-3 trolls and 3 knights.) 7079 Castle Drawbridge Defense: (A tower and a huge long wall. In front of this a battle of trolls and knights. With 2 huge trolls and 2-3 'normal' trolls. A bad or good magician and 3 knights.) Greetings 'Bricks' Edited January 9, 2009 by Bricks Quote
metalandi Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 We also know that since weeks, and even more details. And we know you're not lying, we have seen the pics before Quote

Dr.Cogg Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 In studying the Trolls Mountain fortress (the blurry picture)I noticed that their are actually 3Towers, 2 of them have catapults and I think they fire those spike balls from the Glatorian. Quote

That's an interesting observation... I noticed those spiked balls in the Glatorian sets in the local store and thought they'd be perfect for Castle sets. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 New clearer pictures in this B-shelf gallery! Castle 09 They look pretty good to me! Quote
Sandy Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 New clearer pictures in this B-shelf gallery! Castle 09 They look pretty good to me! Ooh, finally! I know they're just prelims, so there's many quirky things in them, but at least we can see the constructions clearly! The King's Wagon looks quite stupid, not really a wagon at all but more like a ship's bow being dragged by a horse. The Drawbridge Defense looks great (lol at the queen with Willie Scott's hair!) although the lack of baseplate (or any connecting pieces between the tower and the beginning of the bridge) worries me a bit. The golden knight looks quite good - especially if they change the torso and legs to dark tan or even pearl gold instead of yellow. As for the Troll Fortress, it doesn't look as imposing as I imagined (the light grey walls have that effect), but it contains many superb pieces (big flames, whoo!) and minifigs (including the new big trolls) and thus is a must-buy for me! Great job in spotting these pictures! Quote
