hollisbrick Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Thanks TheFrisian! :-) also hollisbrick i hope I didn't offend you I was just making a statement! :-$ I agree that the Sentry is a fantastic army builder, but until I see a definite price in my store or catalogue, I won't say it will be better than Crossbow Attack. BUT! No matter what you have to get this set anyway, even if crossbow attack is better, because just by switching the armour in the impulse set you can have either a soldier *sweet* , a grill helmet knight :'-) , or, using grey torso and legs (of which I have plenty) a soldier AND grill helmet! *wub* I still have no idea why they didn't release an archer instead of a wizard! What a stupid marketing tactic. They should have put the Wizard in the tower of the upcoming "Attack on the Tower" set to insure almost certain purchases for a special fig, and release an archer in impulse to insure lots of sales from armybuilders! TTFN! >:-) Dont worry ii'm not offended batbrick you made me relise of cool and useful this set is (sometimes I have to look at a set a couple of times before i like it) I'll definately pick up a few of these but probly only 1 wizard one. Aslo you're wright about the wizard thing but i'm not complaining. Another thing i'm not conplaining about is that troll cart! I *wub* it! A cheap way to get a ogre! And i *wub* the idea of hanging a chicken leg infront of the ogre X-D Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 That's almost exactly how I envisaged the battlecar- with a troll pulling along a rugged wagon with catapults *sweet* It's a shame it doesn't come with a club, though. What's in the cart? Looks like a crossbow. I'd love it if the soldiers came with shields- most of my crownies don't have shields :-( As for the impulse sets, I could do with a few more beards, owls and crystal balls, so I'll probaly get one or two of the wizards, and I'll get two of the soldiers to have 20 in total. The crossbow set is a better price, but I need all the shields I can get, as well as grill helmets and pearl silver armour *sweet* Quote
Batbrick Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Thanks *vader* for posting the Battlecar! *wub* (the love was for the battle car, not you btw X-D ) Wow! And some of you people doubted this second line! :-P I love how the Trolls and Orcs are like fantasy renditions of the vikings, only rougher >:-) , and this one pushes this point home *sweet* . The chicken leg is an excellent touch and the poor placing of the wooden boards really make an awesomely poor and rough wagon! *wub* Well done natelite for spotting those swords, I REALLY, REALLY hope they are new molds. My only complaint is the lack of dwarfes, so far from the sets you only get 6 *n* But that is not a major detractor! :-) I also love the placing of that flag! *wub* TTFN! >:-) Quote
Shakar Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Actually, Yoda, Crownies always had black hips. I have one in front of me. :-) That being said, the "sentry" is a really good set! It's really great how you're able to make "alternative knights": you can choose between nose protector helmet and grill helmet, armourless or armoured, shortsword and spear....I'll have some spare pieces by buying these, which is great. The wizard I'm not so sure about. To me the sand blue seems so weird. Dark blue, IMO, would have been much better. I don't mind the stars too much, however I would've liked more elaborate designs, like the ones that the Necromancer proudly sports. I wouldn't have minded a cape either, but I suppose that I'm asking too much for a 3 Euro set. Yet again, they could have put the same effort they put on that great Crown Knight set in this one. Now, we get to the truly juicy part. The battlecart is a GREAT set. Not only does it inlcude two Crownies, one goblin and a freaking awesome troll (I don't care how much M###B###KY he looks, he's wonderful!), it also includes one of those excellent goblin flags and a siege machine that looks so good. These sets look like vikings gone bad. How much will this be? 20 Euro peraphs. One more thing: the chicken leg is agreat detail! X-D Shakar Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 The battle cart is an excellent expression of Lego's creativity and wit. The chicken leg is hilarious, while the battle cart with iron wheels(A great improvement on the Viking wheels which were only grey!) and a missile launcher. The sentry is awesome; I love the idea of a customizable character as Shakar said, and the Wizard is perfect for Pallando or Alatar the Blue, the remaining two wizards from LOTR. Radagast is brown, Saruman white, and Gandalf grey. White. But it's a good set, regardless. Quote

Oh boy loool Yeay I think that it will be in that ballpark ;-) I mean the skellie prison carriage set is 19.99 and that set is more or less in the same range I think !! Or maybe a tad mor expensive. *yoda* Quote
Looking for a display name Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) Ok people i don't think this has been posted yet, so i give to you the Troll battlecart: On first look i have to say i really love this new set, not only does the cart itself look good but as i had hoped we now have a cheaper opition on getting more trolls. Some great touches from lego include the chicken leg hanging in front of the troll X-D hmmm.. lightly modified 7020 anyone? :-/ and by the looks of that bf troll we may see a rancor by the time the sw license runs out -oobie Edited September 30, 2007 by oobie scoob doobi noob banobie Quote
Lost Viking Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I am seeing people say that there are 2 orcs/ goblins. Could someone help me find the second, I only see one.. 8-| Thanks! Awesome set! Quote
Vader Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 hmmm.. lightly modified 7020 anyone? :-/ and by the looks of that bf troll we may see a rancor by the time the sw license runs out -oobie How exactly do you go from troll to rancor?? For starters the rancor is around 5 times bigger, we've had other monsters before like the rock raiders one, so i really doubt this new troll means there will be a rancor. Quote

So who is shooting the catapult :-P ? There seems to have a shadow on the upper right sand green horn so I was assuming it was another goblin ;-) But I might be wrong ;-) *yoda* Quote
jifel Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 the "new sword" looks like a pirate cutlass blade with a classic sword hilt and the "dagger" looks like the new sword held upsidedown cool set jifel Quote

hewkii9 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I don't know, it looks more like a human/goblin/two-legged comprehendable being with a brain skull than a creature skull. I can't see a resemblance of the Mandalorian symbol. It just doesen't look it... But that's just me... Mandalorian insignia 7048- big image of the troll symbol Nobody else sees the similarities? I like that new battlecart a lot. I wonder what that tiny Crownie cart is? Quote
gylman Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 One thing for sure, this new castle theme will make for some spectacular!! keychains. And really, what more is there to Lego than keychains. :-D X-D Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 One thing for sure, this new castle theme will make for some spectacular!! keychains. And really, what more is there to Lego than keychains. Easy enough: "price reduction" sand green hands X-D *yoda* Quote

I wonder what that tiny Crownie cart is? Well, I see what you mean now. Only difference between the two is that the troll symbol has a jaw and the Mando symbol has horns. The faces do resemble each other. But why do the goblins have yellow hands? That confuses me... |-/ Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 But why do the goblins have yellow hands? That confuses me... |-/ That is really weird but like I said previlously I think because these are preliminary pics ;-) If you take for instance the set 7037, there are 2 goblins, one with yellow hands and one with sand green hands *wacko* In 7036, they have yellow hands but in 7040 & 7048 they have sand green hands !! I'm positive that they will have sand green hands ;-) *yoda* Quote
Shakar Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 On the keychains, we still haven't seen ones from this Castle line, have we? I'd like a Necromancer or goblin keychain. Shakar Quote

Hm, but wonder, do I, if make Lego will, other color trolls, other than green and brown. And wonder also, do I, what shape the new helmets armed with the goblins are. Quote
Lost Viking Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 So who is shooting the catapult :-P ?There seems to have a shadow on the upper right sand green horn so I was assuming it was another goblin ;-) But I might be wrong ;-) *yoda* Trying to be smart Yoda with this "So who is shooting the catapult?". Answer me this, how would he get up there in the first place!?! Yea... :-P Sorry, it looks like he (or she, I don't want to be sexist) is wearing a bronze helmet. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Hmm, I see no shadow on the horn(but what do I know? I can't even see a Shadow Trooper on the Rogue Shadow, so :-P ) and I don't think there's another Goblin. But remember the Viking Catapult vs. the Nidhogg Dragon? It had two Vikings but the box showed one. The same may go for this set. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 30, 2007 Governor Posted September 30, 2007 Uh oh! Here comes the killjoy! Looking at these new sets I just see Knights Kingdom with a Tolkienesque influence. Once again we have lots of large pieces slapped together with accessories all over the place rather than any ingenuity in design. It seems a step back from the previous offerings, but obviously it's only a step back if The LEGO Group were progressing towards a new Classic Castle which they're obviously not... Quote
