blueandwhite Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Looks like I'll pick up the Drawbridge. to score the same minifigs on Bricklink would probably come pretty close to $40 anyhow so I might as well grab the extra bricks that come with the set. Another jester never hurts, and this one looks like he has a reversable head! Quote
JCC1004 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I really love the gold knight in 7079 Drawbridge Defence. The jeaster is another reason that I'll get that set. The queen(princess) is good too. It comes with some nice pieces like a brown spear, light pearl gray, bow and arrow, and GOLD ,GOLD,GOLD! There also are some C-3PO parts in him! Quote

But I must agree. This is my favourite set in the upcooming summer. And we get another nice court jester and a princess with the same hairs like Willie (7682), but they're brown: ---------------- 'Bricks' Edited March 9, 2009 by Bricks Quote
Bricks Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) The gold arms and legs. Oh well you guys have some really good eyes! Thanks for clearing me up But they are ''just'' the legs and arms... 'Bricks' Edited March 9, 2009 by Bricks Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Oh well you guys have some really good eyes! Thanks for clearing me up But they are ''just'' the legs and arms... 'Bricks' No, I think the helmet is gold and the torso. I doubt it is the c-3po torso, that would be strange. Quote
Bricks Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I found a picture, so the arms are the same like the one from C3PO, but the legs have a little print...: 'Bricks' Quote
Derek Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 And we get another nice court jester and a princess with the same hairs like Willie (7682), but they're brown: Its actually a new piece altogether... Quote
Sandy Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Its actually a new piece altogether... Yes, it is. Unlike the Willie-hair, this one has a french braid tied around the head. The same piece is also used for Leia in the Endor Battle set. Quote
Batbrick Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Yes, it is. Unlike the Willie-hair, this one has a french braid tied around the head. The same piece is also used for Leia in the Endor Battle set. Oh man I can't wait to get that set now! I really need to start saving up, there is so much good Castle things to get, and I still haven't got Market Street! And ever so sorry to possibly repeat something already asked in the forum, but does anyone know the AU prices of these sets? Batbrick Away! Quote
Svelte Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Going on the US/ UK listed prices on the previous page, I'd guess: King's Chariot - $AU30-40 Drawbridge Defence - $AUD60-$70 Troll Mountain Fortress - $AUD150 Quote

Woah, they certainly are overpriced. I'm hoping the prices will be $30, $60 and $140, following a similar pattern to the first wave. Definitely get them on sale though, but I'll get them no matter what! After all, my orc army is a little sad right now, it needs boosting! Batbrick Away! Quote
Ratshot Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I agree, these are just way too over priced. Quote
Dadster Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Man - the more I see that pearlized gold and silver, the less I like it. Why not just use metallic coloring for all metals? Quote
Medievalego Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 The price of that chariot definitely seems way high, especially considering the price of the comparable and recent Dwarves' Mine Defender ($9.99, 86 pieces, 3 minifigs) ... so for an extra minifigure and 25% more pieces you double the price? That seems off to me. Of course, LEGO pricing rarely seems to make sense: consider the Castle Tic Tac Toe costs $14.99 and you get 10 armored knights ... then the battle backs cost $12.99 for half as many minifigs ... In terms of quality of these sets ... I mostly agree with comments that have been made; I would have liked to have seen a different helmet or crown for the 'troll king.' I have yet to see one army on the internet that consists of divisions or squads of guys wearing crowns. Not only this, but it's not even a new design for the completely new faction; it's just a new color--seems kind of lazy to me. I say this being aware that new molds are one of the big costs for LEGO, but seeing as they still seem to pump out a fair amount of new pieces, I don't think it would have been too much to ask. In other news, these are minor points of concern that don't really matter (aside from questionable pricing), but ... venting is fun. ~Medievalego~ Quote
hollisbrick Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Woah! Thats pretty overpriced I guess I'll have to get them on sale.. And remember fellow Aussie's, the castle sets come to Oz in July-ish when Big W has that big toy sale on Quote

And remember fellow Aussie's, the castle sets come to Oz in July-ish when Big W has that big toy sale on They only come out in July if TLC already has them on sale. Since TLC wont have the Summer wave of sets till August, we will probably have to wait a lot longer than that, probably closer to Christmas would be my guess. Quote
soc399 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Man - the more I see that pearlized gold and silver, the less I like it. Why not just use metallic coloring for all metals? The metallic coloring looks better, but it can wear off. My gold treasure chest from Race for the Stolen Treasure has wear marks on the inside and on the corners, and I've barely ever touched it. The pearl coloring can't wear off, so I don't mind the change. The gold treasure chest from Loot Island may not look as nice, but kids could toss it around without messing it up. Quote

Lordofdragonss Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I think the chariot is so expensive becaus it include two Orc shields, and notice that propably figures have doubleprinting torsos! Quote
metalandi Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Hmmm - didn't think of that... Yes, that actually is right. The metallic versions are just printed with a metallica color, while the pearl one is actuaolly full parl plastic, so it isn't just on the surface, but the whole thing is made out of it. I think the chariot is so expensive becaus it include two Orc shields, and notice that propably figures have doubleprinting torsos! I don't think so, cause look at what was all included in the medieval market set, all figs have doube sided printed torsos and even printed legs, and it did "only" cost 100 bucks. Plus, the achariot looks really ugly, so i don't think the price is justified at all. Quote

Just to prevent any misunderstandings, not all the minifigs in MMV have double sided printed torsos and none have printed legs (the women do have printed skirts though). The soldiers and the woman that was also in the Advent Calender have only one side printed torsos. I don't think the prices are that high. Sure it's a bit more expensive then earlier years but if you compare to other themes I think it's just fair. I'm really looking forward to the drawbridge set. That queen is great! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 On youtube I found .The person who posted it there writes in his comment that many of these sets he shows there are sets of this year and the last years. And that's with most of them the case. At around 1:16 you can see the 6090 Royal Knight's Castle. Do you think that this might be a hint for what we might see as the second exclusive Castle set (about which there are rumours that it is a jubilee set) or do you think that it is nothing of importance? Klaus-Dieter Well, I don't think that this youtube-user showed us in his video the upcooming sets... If you look at youtube you will find so many other videos with an akin content. So altough thanks for this little video and yes an upcooming ''re-make'' of the set '6090' would be very nice... 'Bricks' Quote

Klaus-Dieter You just jump at anything, don't you? The poster of that video is just a fan showing off pictures of the sets he thinks are the best - it even says so in the title. There's nothing in that video that even hints of any re-releases. So hold your horses and wait for actual official news. Quote
