Klaus-Dieter Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Well, I don't think that this youtube-user showed us in his video the upcooming sets...If you look at youtube you will find so many other videos with an akin content. So altough thanks for this little video and yes an upcooming ''re-make'' of the set '6090' would be very nice... 'Bricks' You just jump at anything, don't you? The poster of that video is just a fan showing off pictures of the sets he thinks are the best - it even says so in the title. There's nothing in that video that even hints of any re-releases. So hold your horses and wait for actual official news. Supposably you're right. Sorry. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Bricklanta Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 The castle defence set reminds me a lot of the Citadel of Orlan set from 2004. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 The castle defence set reminds me a lot of the Citadel of Orlan set from 2004. The difference is that the 2009 version is good. :) Quote
Algernon Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Random thoughts on 2009 Castle... There aren't many Castle sets this year, and besides the big Troll fortress they don't look that appealing, but perhaps LEGO is setting us up for a huge release *cough*elves*cough* next year? Quote
Tyrant Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Have we heard anything in regard to the "jubilee" set I have seen mentioned a few places? Perhaps that is why we have so few sets coming out? Or it could have to do with the fact that we appear to have a second wave of Power Miners (why this instead of a second Pirate or Castle wave is beyond me) and the licensed sets coming out. Or I suppose they may see Castle and Pirate as somehow competing so one will get the early release and one will get the late release instead of releasing at the same time. Quote
mania3 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I think we all need to embrace the fact that there might be at least one or two sets not showing up in any posts that we will all be surprised by. I mean, we're not getting a second wave of Pirates it seems, but isn't it so that the second Advent Calendar this year is a Pirates one? Or was that a rumor that was snubbed? I think there is a bit more on the Castle front that is forthcoming for this year. Quote

I think there is a bit more on the Castle front that is forthcoming for this year. We will indeed be getting a Pirate Advent Calendar. I'm looking forward to the Summer castle sets. They look to have some nice pieces (especially the Troll Fortress) and nice design for the most part. We're also getting some nice new minifigs. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Concerning the very supposable Castle "jubilee" set: Do you think that we'll get more some sort of re-release of a classic Castle set (like e. g. this brilliant castle from 1995), a new Castle in more or less classic design, a set which can be added to the awesome MVV or a Castle set that fits in the fantasy line? Klaus-Dieter Quote
SWMAN Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 On youtube I found .The person who posted it there writes in his comment that many of these sets he shows there are sets of this year and the last years. And that's with most of them the case. At around 1:16 you can see the 6090 Royal Knight's Castle. Do you think that this might be a hint for what we might see as the second exclusive Castle set (about which there are rumours that it is a jubilee set) or do you think that it is nothing of importance? Klaus-Dieter Considering that the title of the video is about the Best Lego Sets Ever with a few newer sets thrown in, I don' think that it is really that important. You never know though. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Have we heard anything in regard to the "jubilee" set I have seen mentioned a few places? Is the yellow castle builder set the jubilee set?: Quote
Dark_Avenger Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Is the yellow castle builder set the jubilee set?: To my understanding, the jubilee set is coming out later this year and we have yet to see or hear anything about it beyond that it's to celebrate Castle's 30th year. Quote
Rijkvv Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Do you think that we'll get more some sort of re-release of a classic Castle set (like e. g. this brilliant castle from 1995),I doubt TLG will do that. And íf they re-release some sets, please do a better job than the Century Skyway. That set had too many changes in parts and colours. The Metroliner and Club Car only had minor changes, and I believe the Western sets had no changes at all. If the 6090 will be released that way, I tink it will be successful.a new Castle in more or less classic design, Looks like a great idea. But I think it will not happen. With classic design you mean like the designs of the earlier LEGO castles? a set which can be added to the awesome MVV Maybe. I'm not sure if TLC releases a castle like this if there's still a Fantasy Era castle for sal. But if it's succeedor don't have skeletons or a dragon, who knows what will be released. I never expect TLG to release a set like the MMV. or a Castle set that fits in the fantasy line? This sounds the most likely to me. Unfortunately. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I think the best set will be a Castle Creator set, with big ammout of Grey, black and green bricks! Or Classic yellow castle but in Grey. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Looks like a great idea. But I think it will not happen. With classic design you mean like the designs of the earlier LEGO castles? Yes, with classic design I mean the early Lego castles such as the ones of the Black Falcons, the Lion Knights but even the blue dragon knights (I regrettably don't know the real name of this fraction - with "blue" I of course don't mean drunken ). Maybe. I'm not sure if TLC releases a castle like this if there's still a Fantasy Era castle for sal. But if it's succeedor don't have skeletons or a dragon, who knows what will be released. I never expect TLG to release a set like the MMV. I'm not that sure. I mean: 1. If it's a/the jubilee set then it has to have really classic contents since it shall celebrate the 30ths anniversary of the Castle line. And so TLG surely would release something in more or less classic style - so supposable (and hopefully) without fantasy creatures. Fantasy creatures appeared in the Castle theme (when you don't count ghosts) the first time in 1993. 2. At the moment (and in the last years) there are already a lot of fantasy related Castle sets for sale - and there is already the Knight's Castle, the Wizzard's Tower and soon the Orc Fortress. So another castle set with many fantasy creatures wouldn't make much sense since there are already and even will be a lot of regular fantasy sets for sale in regular shops. I think the best set will be a Castle Creator set, with big ammout of Grey, black and green bricks! Imo this wouldn't be a great idea - an even not worthy for a jubilee set. But I could well imagine that TLG will enlarge its assortment of Castle related bricks on PaB. Or Classic yellow castle but in Grey. I totally agree with you, Lordofdragonss! This seems to be the most supposably to me: Similar to the awesome 10184 Town Plan which orientated on the classic Town Plan set the Castle jubilee set imo will (hopefully) surely be something similar to that, too - a more detailed, with grey bricks and more accessory included set orientated on the classic Yellow Castle. Imo it's now time that TLG gives us a hint what we might perhaps await. For pics or more detailed information it's of course too soon - but at least a hint - please, TLG! Tenoch Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Don't you think that the jubilee set was actually the medieval market ? Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 (edited) Don't you think that the jubilee set was actually the medieval market ? That might be the case, Tenoch. But I don't think so since TLG surely would release a jubilee set with a big proclamation that it is the jubilee set (like with last year's awesome 10184 Town Plan for City). Was this a late 2009 release? Supposably. The only thing which we know until now is that there'll be two Castle sets this year sold via S@H (MVV is one of them) and rumours were going around that one of these exclusive Castle sets this year is a Castle jubilee set. More I don't know, too, regrettably. Klaus-Dieter Edited May 2, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
gormadoc1 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 I realy like 7079 - Drawbridge Defence because it reminds me of a better version of tower raid and I like the look of that golden knight and for MOC it can be used as like an outpost or something and it has the oppertunity to be built up and have things added to it. I also like 7097 - Trolls Mountain Fortress because its good to have a castle for the trolls as well as the king. what i'd like to see is a kings army boat, like the old sea serpent set. . Quote
Batbrick Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Has anyone actually got any of the sets yet? If not, I'm rather surprised given how other theme sets have been found. Batbrick Away! Quote
The Cobra Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Don't know if this has been posted yet: Lego Brickmaster Castle (including two infamous promo sets that most of us loved) also check out Lego Brickmaster Pirate Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Thanks Cobra! For those of us too lazy to click the link: It's nice to see those impulse sets weren't thrown away, although I'd rather be able to buy them separately. Quote
Sandy Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Ah, those are the two infamous unreleased sets, plus then some! I'm glad they released them this way, I don't think just the chariot and just the catapult would've sold very well. Quote
metalandi Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Thanks fotr the pics, i remember seeing them somewhere before..back then i immediately thought the pirate one was way better, and so i still think. Why has it always got to be wall segments and catapults? Quote
Dadster Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Guess I'm re-upping my BM subscrip...but when? Did I miss the release date? Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Guess I'm re-upping my BM subscrip...but when? Did I miss the release date? I don't know why they are called Brickmasters, but they appear to be something unrelated to the magazine that you can buy separately. The Dorling Kinderley site says they'll be released on the 3rd of August. Quote
