BrickFit26 -- Thanks! If you are referring to the images a couple of posts up, those are from kodlovag, who has been adding interior detail to one of the Bricksburg buildings.

I was referring to it all. It all looks really good.

kodlovag -- Another great design! I look forward to seeing the physical build. I'm familiar with LDD and I know there are several other software tools for LEGO building--which one are you using? Your images have a very clean look to them.

I'm using LDD 4.3. I also tried other softwares, but I found them too much CAD-like and unfriendly.

There are nothing special in these images, I'm using the Take a screenshot menu point in the Tool Box menu.

I'm at halfway with the physical build. First copy of the mid level is done, and the 2nd copy is waiting for assembling. I already worked 4 nights on it, and I still have 5 (or maybe 6) free nights until 6th March to finish it. I recently realized, that there will be a LEGO exhibition at Budapest, were I live, and I will try to push in the building as a guest entry. And the deadline is 6th March. Unfortunately the rules say that the entry should not been presented anywhere earlier (including online posts). I hope that virtual versions posted here do not count. If accepted, I cannot post anything about the real build until the end of the exhibition (20th March).

The screenshot option... I've seen it but never used it. Thanks for letting me know! I'll have to try it out now. It has a nice look to it.

The exhibition sounds great. I would think that two work-in-progress pics won't disqualify you. I won't bother you for any more pics until it's over. If you are up for it, I would like very much to hear how it goes for you--especially when your entry is accepted! :-)

"You don't know me, but I'm on TV, so you can trust me."

Here's the exterior for the coffee shop in my last image post. If you look closely, you can see the coffee shop interior through the windows.

This build is primarily of a single building in downtown Bricksburg with a few details added from other buildings. It is only the front section of a much taller structure--the scale of the downtown buildings is _really_ enormous. The billboards and jumbotrons are mosaics made from tiles.

BlockLogo--The ground floor, not counting the patios, is 168 x 168. Most of the facade is SNOT and measures 176 studs tall. 16,854 bricks. It's my single largest build so far.

Actor Builder--Yes, it is! And this is just the front portion of the building in the movie. The full building is close to 3 times as wide!

LegoKing--I haven't posted all of my builds. The ones I have posted are on the first page of this topic.

OK, I'm here again. Exhibition is over, now I can post images! The Movie Green Grocer won a 2nd prize on the guest exhibition, my first prize ever.

So, this is the top level of the Movie Green Grocer, with the roof.

And here are some pictures of the building progress...

And, here is the building itself. Sorry for the bad quality images, I'm still learning my camera. I'm also missing some useful stuffs to make smooth lights and background, and a tripod would also be essential. Flashlight looks awful on LEGO and so on. Now all what I can do is waiting for a sunny morning to have enough light and maybe I can do better pictures.

WOW! I had no idea you were going to build that in real bricks! Incredible!

What's the footprint? 48x48?

How much did it cost?

What does it look like next to some of the Modulars?

Wow.

Wow! Kodlovag, that looks great! I'm amazed that you actually built the largest movie "modular." Wow, again!

Congratulations on your prize. Good choice on using the masonry bricks--they look really good. The "Breakfast at Tiffany's" sign is a nice touch. I like how you did the roof on the center tower. It looks much better than the one I did--much cleaner. I also like how your central stairs go right up to the doorway on the roof. It all just works together. The construction scenes add a great story to it.

I'm very glad you posted these. I had a reminder on my calendar to send you a note to see how it went. It was a pleasant surprise to see them. I'm curious if you had any challenges transporting it.

JLSD--Glad you enjoy seeing these as much as we enjoy making them.

Wow.

The baseplate is 48x48. It's just fitting from edge to edge. There are only very narrow sidewalks.

It cost me somewhat less, than EUR 500. This is a lot of money, 7.5 month from my yearly LEGO budget. But if I compare it to Green Grocer set prices on Bricklink, which starts at EUR 600, but most of them are over 700, I think it's definitely worth the cost.

It's basically a standalone building, but I designed to fit to my modular waterfront / marina buildings. It is the last building in the waterfront row, see the little embankment part with the stairs. Maybe a beach can start next to it. Or a beach house. Or both...

I'm glad you like it. The masonry brick was a necessary choice, because the original grooved brick is extremely expensive. But the masonry brick is definitely looks nice. The central tower was an interesting part. I tried to copy your solution, but it would be unstable. So I had to change two windows to bricks, like in the side towers. I also did not understood, why did you put an asymmetric roof to a symmetric tower. It was not easy to find this solution, I dropped 1-2 previous tries.

The building is really big. 7000 bricks, it's the largest I ever built. Its size is 39 x 39 x 50 cm. I bought a 40 x 40 x 40 cm size box to transport it. I calculated, if I move the top level separately, then the building fits nicely to the box. I also measured the size of my car's trunk, and I was happy, that it's just high enough and the box will just fit. The surprise came, when I tried to put in the box, and I had to realize, that the trunk door is not large enough to actually put in the box. So the box travelled next to me in the front seat. It's time to buy a bigger car

I think you should modify the three sided building so the tan line is consistent. Make it a brick tall, instead of just a plate tall, on the right side grey below the two 1x1 rounds bricks.

Hah! And I need a bigger house for room to build and to store all my bricks. :-)

I worked on that roof throughout my build. I had several versions along the way. I never could quite figure out what was on screen. There are no good views of it. My symmetrical versions left large gaps between the plates that I didn't like. In the end, this is where I landed. What's the saying? "You never finish something, you just walk away from it." After wrestling with LDD as much as I did to create all of the angles required in this building, I decided to keep what I had at that point. No one was supposed to look at it as closely as you did. :-)

Amazing updates Xon! Nice job on the real build kodlovag!

I'm back again, unfortunately again on a rather somber note :( My father passed away almost 2 months ago. Pretty bad start of the year :(

Haven't touched the mech for quite a while now, I've been pre-occupied with a lot of other stuff.

Very curious to see the LDD file, It looks like you managed to get the front together, so that means we're almost done :D

I guess the last thing to do is to attempt to put everything together and see what a real build looks like, and how it will hold :D

Also, incredible job on the mansion. Can't wait to see a real build of that as well!

Ok, I put some of my modulars next to it. It's much bigger, than anything else in my city.

Can you show a cutaway for how the underside of this arch is constructed. I'm building a 32stud wide one and I wanted to compare against what they did.
