9v system Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 What do you mean exactly? As in cut or glue parts to make them fit Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 No cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Quote
Erik Leppen Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Why can we not modify parts? Because this is a LEGO building competition ;) Quote
Moz Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Why can we not modify parts? Because Lego is mostly ABS, and it's straightforward to remake ABS into filament for a 3D printer. So the contest would devolve to "who can 3D print the coolest thing". Quote
aminnich Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 As I read through a lot of these new WIP topics, I notice a lot of great builds, but i also notice a lot people saying that wont be entering because their crane wont be done on time..... Quote
John Daniels Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 As I read through a lot of these new WIP topics, I notice a lot of great builds, but i also notice a lot people saying that wont be entering because their crane wont be done on time..... I can only speak for myself (whether you include me in your post or not), but with my crane: It was inspired by the competition, but was started a month in. I was hoping that I might have a bit of time off from work, and as such might be able to complete it as an entry. That didn't happen. If the inspiration had hit at the beginning of the contest I believe that I could have completed it. I can't speak for those that took off right from the gate, but I hope that I could explain one entry not being done in time. ~John Quote
doug72 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Re Entry Video I normally use Flika but for some reason won't allow me to show more than the first 2m 30s with the rest cut. Made a video using YouTube and posted the link in my entry posting but how do you embed it so it shows on the page i.e. image. Quote

doug72 Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Jim, Thanks for the help - after a couple of tries now sorted and video visble on my entry page. Just need to sort out slewing issue and post a updated video. Thanks Quote
Rockbrick Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) a couple of the 'potential' entries seem to be in violation of this rule: "Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously or shown at an event/LUG meeting)" has this rule been relaxed ? or can it be removed ? as they are good entries and would hate to see them not be able to compete...perhaps they should never have been entered into a previous competition thats all. Edited October 29, 2015 by Rockbrick Quote
Jim Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 That rule is still very much in place. I have disqualified two entries, based on this criterium. Please let me know if there are more entries in need of inspection. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 How much time till deadline? I need to sleeeeep Quote

lcvisser Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 type [ m.e.d.i.a] http:// ... [/m.e.d.i.a.] Be sure to use http instead of https Is it possible to embed video's hosted on Bricksafe? I can't get it to work in my entry post... Is it ok just to put the link instead of embedding the video? Quote
Milan Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 I would suggest you to upload video to a strong hosting service, like YouTube. Quote
MaxSupercars Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) I'm always adding just URL in HTTP without any tags and it works... so without media tag... just http://url_to_video Max... [EDIT] Ahhh sorry... I just realized that you want to embedd uploaded MP4 file... Make as Milan said... Upload it to youtube and the use just URL in http format... Max... Milan Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Aminnich, can you post a video in your entry topic so it does not have to be downloaded in order to be seen? Quote
Doc_Brown Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 May I request a few more hours please? I'm working as fast as possible, but she is a big lady!!!! Quote
Victor Imaginator Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Sad, i failed to participate( I find time just to make one small moc found on rebrickable over last month. But i'll build my own crane sometime anyway) Quote
lcvisser Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I would suggest you to upload video to a strong hosting service, like YouTube. I guess I couldn't avoid Youtube forever Quote
syclone Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Sadly I also failed to this one, the small part of it and the video are in fault, will post it on YouTube later like a MOC. It's JMG MC 20 http://www.jmgusa.com/products/industrial-mobile-cranes/mc20.htm Edited November 2, 2015 by LXF Quote
