Boettner Builds Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 So I was looking for 2x4 tan bricks and came across this: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=VoraciousMonk&itemID=79848604 . Why, in the name of all things holy, is someone selling MEGABLOCKS on Bricklink!?!? End Rant. Quote
1974 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Not allowed, but why the funk do you post this on EB and not on BL? Quote
WoutR Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 The items have just been reported to the BrickLink admins. It seems like this is a new and inexperienced seller, but this is not the correct place to sell his MEGABLOKS. If you find items like this, go to the "Problem" tab and click Item(s) for sale. If everyone reports them, we can all help to keep BrickLink clean. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 I didn't know you could report it to BL. I guess I need to explore it a little more than just buy, buy, BUY! Thanks for the info guys! Quote
rodiziorobs Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) I understand why Bricklink doesn't sell other brands. The funny thing is that they have used other brands in some of their publicity--here is a post I put up back when BL was going through site updates and such; an image they used clearly shows Tyco Super Blocks. (BTW sorry to post to my own thread, but it seems topical for this discussion). Is there a dedicated forum or marketplace for off-brands, like Tyco or MegaBloks? It's hard to envision an active MegaBlok community that wouldn't just be a Lego community with looser standards... Edited September 7, 2015 by rodiziorobs Quote
badbob001 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I have seen some sellers sell custom parts from brands like brickarms. I guess that is ok since there is less chance of someone confusing the item as being made by LEGO. Quote
FrenchLegoBoy Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 As far as I know, BrickLink refuses other bands but accept custom minifigs / parts / sets with a whooping 30 million items all over the globe Quote

It's hard to envision an active MegaBlok community that wouldn't just be a Lego community with looser standards... I'm actually searching for something like this too! I know that The Bloks Forum has a market place section, but so far, something akin to BrickLink but for non-LEGOs hasn't really shown up yet, which is really unfortunate, if you ask me. I can understand that BrickLink doesn't allow other brands on there, though. Quote
