There is no old and new LBG. Old one was Light Gray, new one (relatively... the change took place in 2003, so 12 years ago) is Light Bluish Gray.

I read somewhere that, in 2010-12, a colour change in the Lego palette enlightened the Light bluish gray.

I finally replaced all the blue parts from the 6206. I went with mostly DBG on the inside and LBG on the outside.

Thanks to all for the help and suggestions!

Looks good! could do with some minor modding (some cheese-slopes here and there to tone down the blockiness), but that is a big improvement on the Blue-black original

My original BL parts list was much bigger and included some different bricks than what comes in the standard set, but I decided to just replace the blue bricks with gray ones... for now. :classic::thumbup:

Lovely!

This was exactly the same as what I went through when I was replacing the blue bricks on my UCS 7181 TIE Interceptor so that it matches my UCS 10175 TIE Advanced! :)

I decided to use LBG bricks instead of DBG bricks because the DBG bricks do not really match up with the older grey bricks.

The funny thing is today I rebuild my TIE Interceptor. Personally i am fine with the blue (we can pretend that it was painted, couldn't we). What I do thing need an improvement is the wing connections. When I was swooshing around the TIE the wings rattled around more than I liked them to. Plus, I think the wing tip guns could be improved, to look better than it does.
