Doctor Sinister Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 So, here's the story, chest infection still not clear, but I had an important meeting at work today so I went in, coughed up my guts, was sick in my bin and was told by my boss to go home. I didn't want to go home, I felt guilty enough as it was, being off ill last week, but after the tenth time of being told, I went home. Now everyone at work hates me. Still can't sleep with the cough, Doctor wants to see me later in the week as it's clear the pills I'm on haven't worked but have to do something so I've made a new Vig'. I call it simply "Torture Chamber". Knocked unconscious during the attack on his patrol, the warrior awakes to find himself chained upside down in the deepest darkest part of the evil Wizard's castle. A fire spits and sizzles only inches from his face, and from the corner gloom, a Skeleton emerges, hissing and cackling; "Soon you will tell us everything...". Click the thumbnails for larger images. With this one, I created a lightbox underneath the vig - transparent bricks through which light would shine, the light turning 90 degrees through the lightbox to illuminate the fire which was sat on top of more trans' bricks. I lost more light than I was expecting but it worked. Dr. S. Quote
Asuka Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 A very creative way of lighting, and a decent scenery! Great pictures! *y* Although, of course, I Quote
El Bucanero Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Sorry to hear about your work... Well.. The lightning is very approapriate for the scene >:-) Very sinister... Although this isn't quite clear to me, what exactly is the skeleton doing to the soldier? Is he just burning him or is he really torturing him with nasty devices?? *skull* G Quote
Sir Dillon Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Very nice. I really like the evil atmosphere you've given this one. Quote

Aredhel Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Really nice idea with those really dark pics! If you would have only photographed like on of the last one in lights it wouldn't have been so cool! Nice work, -Aredhel Quote
TheFrisian Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Your vignettes keep amaze me Doc! With the fantastic lighting effects and photography, you really managed to bring out the drama and suspence in this little horror scene. For what it's worth, I hope you get well soon. I know being at home sick isn't fun at all... but as long as you are, keep making those great vignettes! Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 You did a great job creating a dark, gothic atmosphere with this vig. Your use of lighting bricks in your vigs is very effective. Quote
Batbrick Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Awesome vig Doctor Sinister! Your vigs are rather bleak aren't they? :-D You did some great lighting on this one and captured a great atmosphere! *skull* Up and Atom! :-) Quote
iamded Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Nice job! Seems solidly built, with great lighting effects, thought a little dark, and a very sinister air about it. Excellent! *y* *y* Quote
hollisbrick Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Very kool vig. Keep up the great work! I wish Lego would sell vigs (like this one) Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Wow! i really like your use of a light brick in this one...but why the lack of a screaming face? Quote
Vader Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Nice and creepy.... Gotta love that feel of something sinister, Great work again *y* Quote
Siegfried Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Mental note; don't annoy Doctor Sinister. He seems to have a dark side which oddly comes out when he has a chest infection. Doesn't seem to affect his MOC skills which makes it even more intimidating. Hi! Great MOC. I like you. Honest. Don't hurt me. Please? :'-( Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Wow! i really like your use of a light brick in this one...but why the lack of a screaming face? I didn't want to use that face again as I wanted to avoid repeating my first Vig'. This guy is either accepting his fate or he has something up his sleeve... Dr. S. Quote
Hinckley Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I didn't want to use that face again as I wanted to avoid repeating my first Vig'.
