DanSto Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) . Furthermore issues such as the ecto not being able to fit without removing some furnitures or that the doors cannot be open with the ecto inside are not good enough for the price they are asking. Come on , considering the size of the car and the size of the building, it was clear that the car is oversized and will need all room to go into it : it is only a commercial argument . A building which fits with the car should be something like this : GBHQ by Gerechtigkeitsliga, sur Flickr ( http://www.eurobrick...2 ). Edited November 12, 2015 by DanSto Quote
Fuppylodders Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Some people want everything for peanuts. Considering the piece count (4634) and the price (£275) which is 6p per piece (excellent value by normal standards), and the ghosts/slimer, minifigs etc, it is decent value. How people can moan about the furniture having to be removed to fit the car is beyond me. It fits in there. Consider the furniture extra parts. If you want it bigger, then build your own. And I can guarantee unless you have special contacts, you will NOT get it anywhere near the size to fit the car and all similar furniture, AND get it the same price/cheaper. AFOLguy1970 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 This has a nice design and I think Lego did well enough with the given source material. I am not too worried about whether or not Ecto-1 is inside the building, after all, if the car is inside the building, how am I going to see it? My only real critique is one already brought up. The sign on the outside should not have been a sticker, especially since Ecto-1 did not have them. A lot of sets have had a mix of stickers and printed parts lately. Mystery Machine and the new Millenium Falcon come to mind as examples. With the heavy price tag, I likely will not buy it. However, if I do have some extra unexpected money somewhere, this will certainly be considered for a purchase. I highly doubt that any new Ghostbuster sets will be made based on the first two films. There are minifigs that are depicted in other scenes. Dana is in her possessed appearance back at her apartment building. The library ghost appeared of course at the New York Public Library. Peter got slimed in the hotel on their first job. The painting of Vigo was in the museum, and I do not recall pink slime appearing at the headquarters. So I guess this set sort of represents an assortment of scenes in the two movies. Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Vigo's painting is not in this set. Only the haunted photographs of the painting in the darkroom. There isn't any slime in the HQ apart from the toaster's, but it was underground throughout NYC, so it's not implausible that some would emerge outside the HQ. The minifigures do indeed seem to indicate that there's no need for future GB sets. We're getting a Stay Puft figure and a Terror Dog build, so I'm satisfied. Quote

I agree with you and I prefer also to have the building like it is (not bigger and more expensive). However, I consider that the car does not fit in because it is oversized. But, we can consider that the designer has managed to get enough room for satisfying people who wants absolutely to put the car into the building. I like this set even if the build of the external walls looks repetitive. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 £100 for over 4000 pieces will u talk sense! You can't even tell it's 4000 pieces. Looks more like a 1000 piece set. Quote

While this set, the car, and the Dimensions sets are all cool and give a fairly complete vision of the movies, the Vigo photos are a poor substitution for a minifigure. And sure, one could say that he was barely anything more than a painting to begin with, but that's beside the point. He was a major character, and vital to the story. I'd like at least a polybag with him. Also, a Peter with the full printing and no slime would be nice to have. I'd also like to say that the fact the car barely fits inside is kind of lame. It wouldn't make me any less apt to buy the set, but it is lame. Quote

The 7676 republic gunship is near a 1000 piece set. This looks far more than that. Do you even grasp the ceoncept of what 1000 pieces look like? Certainly not this... Quote

WetWired Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Willie Scott's hair in dark brown EDIT: I can not do what deskp can do, darn... I've been playing with a custom janine for a while and was having trouble settling on a hair choice, here's my attempts The last one (anakins hair) I had to photoshop to dark brown as I didn't have one on hand, I think it's probably the winner out of all of them though. 8BrickMario Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I think the spiky hair is the best current option. Quote
arnoldtblumberg Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) http://shop.lego.com...dquarters-75827 Whoa! $500!!! I thought it was going to be $350, which was a huge enough price. Now I'm rethinking this... :( EDITED TO ADD: I'm still seeing $349.99 on press releases, could the store site have it wrong (I hope)? EDITED AGAIN: It appears I was looking at the Australian site, sorry for the panic on my end. But I wonder why typing Lego.com into my broswer took me to the AU site and not the US this time? Very odd! Edited November 12, 2015 by arnoldtblumberg Quote

I thought it was going to be $350, which was a huge enough price. Now I'm rethinking this... :( $350 for the Firehouse, $50 for the Ecto-1 to go inside and complete it. Ugh, and now that I think of it, it's anpher $30 for the Dimnsions level pack with new hair and arm-patch Venkman (the not slimed version) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 It is only coming up as Australia for me too. Very odd. I wonder if I need to erase cookies again. Quote

Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Haha, not really sure. I didn't check to see if the torso for the Dimensions pack and the Ecto-1 were the same. But still, I do like the Dimensions mini Ecto-1, so I'm game! Quote
CM4Sci Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 LEGO's uploaded the images to their cache! These are all over 4000 pixels! x105Black Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 He has full printing in the Dimensions pack. Good point. And the Marshmallow Man pack is going to be really nice, too. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 ThaksSci, the closed view looks really good. But the back.... Well, nobody's perfect. It actually is too detracting in my opinion Quote
Jbricks Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) 4000 pixels? Looks like 1000 pixels to me..... I actually like the fire escapes on the back, I think it makes the sides less monotonous Oh, and I love Peter's new (nonslimed) face Edited November 13, 2015 by Jbricks Quote
x105Black Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) I actually like the fire escapes on the back, I think it makes the sides less monotonous I do, too. It adds a lot of character that the big rectangle needs. But the actual back, with the tan and brown, that's pretty ugly. Edited November 13, 2015 by x105Black Quote
CM4Sci Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Well, you're not supposed to see the back in the movie, that'd be hidden by another building. Quote
Gongoro73 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I think all the floors need to be tiled. It will make a huge difference. Quote
