escortmad79 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 When you view the photo in full size you will be able to see them - Ghostbusters sign is a sticker, writing above the gate is a sticker, "One way" sign is a sticker. Sticker inside on the top floor too, can't really make out what it is properly, looks like a woman with something next to her face Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 In this case, it's recoloring, since there are no exclusive/new molds here. The new colors for the 'figs are: Pale lavender hands White Banshee hair Dark Brown Banshee hair Ghost tail Pink and blue Skreemers That's just the minifigures. Huh? How do you know? Quote
Sven F Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Now I am wondering how much % of this price I can get back by selling off the figures to fetishists, since I only care about the building. Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Lego Sumo hair in white? Pity they didn't make the librarian trans purple That's what I thought, but I think this one might be even better: They won't do transparent minfigures. The most they can do is heads and hands. We just have to accept that and move on. Quote
PriorMarcus Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 If you look in the top front window you can see a Legoized Vigo painting. Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Huh? How do you know? I don't understand. There was a hi-res image showing off the whole set posted. I was looking at the picture and noticing the recolored minifigure parts. Quote

Clone OPatra Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 They won't do transparent minfigures. The most they can do is heads and hands. We just have to accept that and move on. Chima and Ninjago feature minifigures with trans-arms and trans legs. We only haven't seen trans-torsos or hip pieces. For more universal usability, I'm glad the librarian has a solid purple torso. 6ix Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I love that Lego included the traffic light. The stickers, not so much. I am really curious about the interior. This is a day one purchase for me, as both a Ghostbusters and a NYC fan. Quote
escortmad79 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Zooming in on the pic unquestionably reveals stickers. This should come as no surprise to anyone; I'm more surprised that people are still griping about this. All huge sets have stickers. All. The only lines I can think of that have no stickers (up to now) are Dimensions, Architecture, and Ideas. That's it. It's frustrating that people can't just let it go at this point. With the exception of Palace Cinema, none of the modulars have had stickers Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) I really appreciate how this set bridges between the two movies, like the Death Star did. We've got the library ghost and Zuul-Dana with Vigo's painting and the mood slime in one set. With the exception of Palace Cinema, none of the modulars have had stickers But this isn't part of the Modular Buildings line. It's a D2C, which does not exclude it from having stickers. Robianco Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 So it's a three storey firehouse on a 48x32 baseplate footprint with twice the brick count of the Fire Station Modular with 9 minifigures and three extra ghosts one of which is Slimer on top of that it's a licensed set and it's exactly the same size as the much lauded Swiss GB HQ... but it looks like it's £80 worth of set? 8BrickMario Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Actually its a Lego Idea's Set and was listed so on the Toys R Us website.......... It's not really. This isn't based directly on anyone's submission. The Ideas listing was likely due to the Ecto-1 being Ideas, but this one has no theme. Quote

Sven F Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 LEGO should supply a spare sticker sheet with large sets. Stickers cost next to nothing and it would ease the problem significantly as they eventually fall apart and need to be replaced. With a 350$ set, i'd be reluctant to apply any stickers, should probably make replicas to use and store the originals in a safe place. Quote
Robianco Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I'd say the Ideas link on the TRU website is a mistake. Until there's any kind of official confirmation of this then I think people are just getting confused with the fact the original Ideas submission for ECTO-1 had the station pictured with it and that there was an Ideas submission for an almost identical looking station which reached 10k votes. Until Ideas say it's one of theirs then it isn't... as soon as they do then it is. Quote
escortmad79 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Actually its a Lego Idea's Set and was listed so on the Toys R Us website.......... It's very similar to the one that Sergio put forward to ideas that got 10000 votes which was turned down initially & then put back into the reconsideration pile. However, the link that Fightingswords posted shows comments by Sergio which allegedly suggest he's not been contacted by Lego since, so, despite obvious similarities, the final version possibly isn't based on his version Quote
Kez Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 This looks fantastic, I'm over the moon with the outcome and especially the release date of January. The figures look awesome, so many nice details. I can't wait to get a better look at the interior, from what I can see there appears to be a sticker of a lego figure with horns in the top middle window. Judging by the looks of it the sticker may be a representation of the portrait of Vigo. Quote
mostlytechnic Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Looks to me like it comes apart in floors like a modular, not hinged like the Haunted House was. I looked and can't see any vertical seam where it could open, but there ARE what appear to be horizontal seam - the red lifting off the grey lowest floor, and the root coming off for sure. If you look at the sidewalk, it's all alternating tiles, with no spot to open. You can also see that the seam between the two baseplates is tiled across, so no seam there to hinge open. Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 That does seem to be the case. I might have preferred this set to hinge open, though. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm in awe. The stickers are a disappointment, I have to admit, but with 4600+ pieces for "only" $350, having all deco'd parts printed as well was surely just a bit much to expect. It looks great, and man, it's huge. When I saw the first photo from LEGO, I thought "That it? for $350?" Yeah, it looks good and true to both the film and the modular series, but it is very small. Half the size of a modular (footprint) for more than 2x the price. All the figures are completely amazing, i love them. I just find the price a bit outrageous when it seems that most of the 4600+ parts are going to be teeny tiny. Of course, I'll be buying it and playing right into the hands of the execs that say overpricing things will not cause consumers to stop 37 bricks and a baseplate tall x 32 studs wide x 48 studs deep is half the size of a modular? What 64 x 48 modulates are you thinking of - the Miniland buildings in LEGOLAND parks? This thing is huge. It has a BIGGER footprint than a modular. I don't think you understand just how huge this thing is. It is the same width as a modular and one and a half times the depth. Quote
