37 bricks and a baseplate tall x 32 studs wide x 48 studs deep is half the size of a modular? What 64 x 48 modulates are you thinking of - the Miniland buildings in LEGOLAND parks? This thing is huge. It has a BIGGER footprint than a modular. I don't think you understand just how huge this thing is. It is the same width as a modular and one and a half times the depth.

Yeah, I already said I made a mistake earlier in this thread. :sceptic:

You can tell the building does hinge open. If you look at the roof behind the 1x2 dark red cheese slopes, you can see the 1x4 hinge bricks. You can kind of see the hinge bricks on the 1st floor too looking at the left side of the building in the previous pics.

Personally - I'm not willing to pay such money for interior. I don't care about very detailed interiors in such sets. Haunted House level of interior detailing is enough. This is set for adults so it is rather for displaying.

Im not interesting in building, same american firehouse as in modular series only bigger .This set can make for me very detailed interior, but why they didnt show it yet is mystery for me...

This will be the 3rd biggest LEGO set to date! Can't wait to see the interior, will the official press release and maybe the designer video come today?

Doesn't look bad. I think I'll wait for the Eurobricks RA review. Who's reviewing it? I don't think this is standard LEGO modular per se. It feels more along the line of the Haunted House from Monster Fighters theme. $399.99CAD is a bit much but then how much was the license holder asking LEGO to pay to use its IP. Would it become a good investment MSIB set?

Is it just me, or does this look classic red? Dark red would have been better. Actually, looking at the real building, tan and dark orange would have been even better.

From looking at the roof seams, it seems like it opens up like a book (two set of hinges), unlike sergio's, which has the entire side wall open up as one piece. Smaller walls will put less strain on the hinges since the walls won't be touching the ground.

The detail I love the most is how the yellow parts next to the front door blend in so well with the walls that it looks like they are just painted yellow.

I'd be excited if I didn't already have 2 Fire Brigade modulars. Roof could use a little more detail too. Maybe some aircon units and pipes? With the detectives office and brick bank on my wanted list, not sure I can spare £250 for this plus £45 for the car.

Does look like dark red to me. :classic:

I love the outside look of it. But will await to really put any real love into this till we get pictures of the interior.

And an ordinary modular build of it will also be released ? .... Uhhh, do we get a whole bunch of Ghostbusters sets next year ?

Certainly sounds like it.

I am going to state the unpopular opinion here:

At least on the exterior, it stays accurate to the building and looks generally good to me. But, to be honest, it is not as detailed or delicate as the modular buildings in the creator line. If it were not for the franchise influence and it were just another modular building, I don't think it is really that attractive. But, I believe the interior is going to be amazing. That said, it is still a pass for me since I am not really that much of a ghostbusters fan. But, it is a must-have for fans, I guess. With the same budget, If I have to choose either the modulars (PR and DO) or the GB building, I would take the former though the minifigs in GB building are easily an overwhelming win even though I am not a fan of GB.

Do others share the same thought? Please don't hate on me. Just stating my opinion is all.

Definitely a valid opinion. I think the model is true to the headquarters and it should appeal well to fans of Ghostbusters and Lego who do have this kind of money to spend on one set. I too am going to focus on the Brick Bank instead of trying to figure out where I would scrape $350 plus tax for this. With that said, it is a nice set, but I do not feel like i cannot live without one. As for the minifigs, if you do not mind them not having the arm printing, I would recommend getting Ecto-1 while it is still out.

]does Winston have a new hair piece?

He does, but it's already out in the new Millennium Falcon set.

There will only be one HQ. This is it.

What's the 1 x 4 (or 6?) x 5 piece used on the right bay door? Is that a new element?

At first I thought it was 4864b mounted sideways but that doesn't explain the frame at the top & bottom. So yeah - looks like some kind of new 5-high panel piece with 1-stud-wide indents.

I bet that the 5x2 black (dare I say window esque panel piece) will be printed just like that featured in the upcoming Doctor Who set. :classic:
