I bet that the 5x2 black (dare I say window esque panel piece) will be printed just like that featured in the upcoming Doctor Who set. :classic:

They will be stickers

With Marcos Bessa working on this model, I guess this means that there won't be another D2C Simpsons set next year, since he did both the Simpsons house and the Kwik-e-mart. Bugger.

I don't think that's necessarily true, because last year alone he designed the Hellicarier, Kwik-E-Mart, Santa's Workshop... check out his page http://marcosbessa28.wix.com/vintoito#!lego/ctd5

What's the 1 x 4 (or 6?) x 5 piece used on the right bay door? Is that a new element?

Yep! It appears in the Nexo Knights 70317 The Fortrex and one of the City fire sets in olive for a shipping container.

Another set I will gawk at in a catalog...

Someone find deskp and ask him to photoshop Willie Scott's hair from the Indiana Jones line onto Janine. I think that piece is the best one.

Are those red or dark red bricks on the upper areas?

It might be, but it was only used once and promptly discontinued. Janine's first-film hair is more rounded on top of her head, but there isn't a good piece for that yet.

Btw, cab driver looks like zombie Hyeneman ;-)

I don't see a reason why the building couldn't be both hinged AND dividable into floors, it can be done.

Uhhh, do we get a whole bunch of Ghostbusters sets next year ?

Wouldn't surprise me. I bet there will be sets based on the reboot.

I'm guessing that this set will also be released as a $400 combo pack with the Ecto-1?

All in all it does look nice though the proportions of the facade are not quite right - it should be 1 stud wider on each side in my opinion. Also the ledge at the top should be wider. I'm no fan of the broad window bars either. For me those narrow window bars are one of the most characteristic aspects of the original building. Maybe I'm a bit picky here but at this size (and price) I expect some accuracy.

However, the price is okay for the part count. Still, I think this is rather something for collectors or investors, rather than for the usual fan of modular buildings.

When do you guys think we will get the designer video

In regards to transparent colors, there are 3 parts I suspect LEGO will never do in a transparent color. The hips, the hands and the torso.

As for the set, WOW, just WOW. Now all I need is the Aussie retail price so I can set a savings goal and save up to buy one...

It wouldn't surprise me if it happened tonight given past social media reveals. If not, very soon.

Being a life long Ghostbusters and LEGO fan (30+ years), I was ecstatic when the Brent's IDEA was passed. Of course, the excitement was renewed when the HQ rumors surfaced. The exterior of the building looks "fine" but there is nothing earth shattering about it. Not sure if I prefer the dark red brick or Sergio's medium dark flesh brick version. The Ghostbuster sign is entire too small (and a sticker). I am not sure why there are blue round tile pieces out front. The mini figures look great!!! Can't wait to see the interior.

For those complaining about the price, its the same price as the Shield Helicarrier and it has 1600 or so more pieces.

If you consider adding this to your modular building collection (as I did with the Haunted House), then you essentially have TWO CORNER buildings in one year. Crazy! If you layout your buildings around in a block, then using this building as a corner will be a challenge. This is because the rear extends 16 more blocks than the usual modular and makes it hard to fit another modular next to it. You'll need to use the rear space for a MOC.

We have a double Town Home single Pet Shop so this would even us out. We also added the Haunted House. I am mid-MOC on it now. Problem is that the Ghostbusters HQ is still too tall. I read these measurements elsewhere:

Ghostbusters Firehouse:

• Measures over 14” (36cm) high, 9” (25cm) wide and 14” (38cm) deep.

Brick Bank:

• Measures over 10” (26cm) high, 10” (25cm) wide and 10” (25cm) deep.

Haunted House:

• Measures 15.4” (39cm) high, 9.4” (24cm) wide and 7.5” (19cm) deep

Town Hall:

• Measures 20” (50 cm) high and 10” (25.5 cm) wide

Sounds good until you realize the Town Hall and Haunted House are that tall because of their towers. The building itself will be larger than the Town Hall. No surprise since the car isn't to scale with the modulars (and their cars), either. I've never seen the movie (I know, I know) and I disliked the spinoff cartoon as a kid so modular compatibility is my main factor (price, too). I'll probably make a point to see the movie and I do still want to see pictures of this next to modulars but I'm planning on sitting this one out at the moment.

Happy for all you Ghostbuster fans, though. : )

Oh and if anyone wants to know the price in their country, click on the link above (which will take you to the french shop) and pick your country from the dropdown.

Australian price seems to be $499 just like the Helicarrier...

Really looking forward to seeing the interior when you consider the size/piece count.
