(1)Stein Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 In German it says the outside walls can be pulled open........... "Verfügt über aufklappbare Außenwände, um den Zugang und das Spielen zu erleichtern." Quote
jonwil Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 http://shop.lego.com/en-AU/Firehouse-Headquarters-75827?_requestid=2765127 has the proper (non translated) English description. Quote
mva5580 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Nice to know that it definitely fits the Ecto-1, I figured it would. I imagine I will buy it, still interested in seeing the inside though. Must be a lot of detail in there for that piece count. I also can't believe they didn't include Walter Peck as a minifig. I mean come on....he was actually IN the building, and he had some good moments in it. Quote
Kraby Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 How can you tell from that link? Just above the pic, you can read the "root" of the set, which is : LEGO Shope Home > Themes > Ideas > Ghostbusters HQ Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 So if it's an Ideas set, whose design is it? I guess it explains the lack of a new hair for Janine... Good to know that it is hinged somehow. And the Ecto-1 compatibility is nice but leaves the bottom floor empty. And the toaster! Quote
jonwil Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I recon Walter would have been a better choice than the Zombie Taxi Driver (who was only ever a small part in the film) Quote
(1)Stein Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Here is a better picture of the left side........ side view Edited October 28, 2015 by Jim Image wider than 1024 pix Quote
Kez Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Looks like the left side of the building can be opened into two halves, a bit like the Kwik-E-Mart in design. Quote
parsom Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) In Poland this set will cost 1600 zł while Helicarrier is for 1400 zł. The difference is almost the price for Ecto-1 (230 zł). Lego pricing policy is very strange Edited October 27, 2015 by parsom Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Wows mind blown. It looks absolutely beautiful, better than I imagined it. Surprising though that it's an inch shorter than 2009 Fire Brigade. It looks huge! Quote
jaesroe Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Ah....it looks so good!! better than I expected!!!! At a first glance, I was so happy to see that the'Two floor' was not the same two floor we saw from fire brigade and brick bank's two floor building. It would have been really disappointed if this GBHQ had that kind of two floors. I have read some post that the exterior was not detailed enough with such an expensive price tag. Well. in my opinion, it might be seen a bit too simple and less detailed, but we all knew that this GBHQ will be based on the original building in the movie and that particular building is as simple as we see in this TLG 75827's exterior design. I even happy to see that the 75827's facade is more detailed medium grey lattice pattern, not just lego brick windows, which the look is more similar to the original building's design. But a bit sad to see stickers of GB logos with strangely small size..it would have been better with printed piece with bigger scale. Also 4 blue stars looks a bit odd..when I saw low-res image, I thought it was some sort of transparent blue 1x1 round tile that is kind of sirens or something.. What I heard is January 1st, and my sources are always right. If it gets delayed, I guess it gets delayed. But that's not my fault, nor is it in my power to stop it. And Just2Good, Yes! your sources were right and all the extra detailed you mentioned, such as no Ecto-1 (would be strange too add an another ecto-1 as we still have 21108) and arm patch printing!! Thank you! your news in September that TLG will release GBHQ in Jan was the best Lego news of this year 2015. Thank you! it seems that there is no particular rule or something when it comes to release Lego set. When TLG had unveiled the 10251 Brickbank a 2016 modular set and will be released in 1st Jan, our hope of seeing this GBHQ in January has almost vanished...but releasing another big set in January again?? Super great and yes....nothing can be certain until it comes out! This GBHQset looks so goood  I do look forward to seeing some more pictures and interiors!! Sven F Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 In Poland this set will cost 1600 zł while Helicarrier is for 1400 zł. The difference is almost the price for Ecto-1 (230 zł). Lego pricing policy is very strange In Belgium there's also a € 50 difference between the helicarrier, but Germany is for some reason cheaper, same thing with the Brick Bank. How did Germans get to have such great deals? Is LEGO tax subsidized there? In the case of modulars it means for every 3, you could get a 4th one free if you buy it there instead. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 This looks amazing! Must have! And I'm so happy that the Ecto-1 can fit in there. Only things I'm slightly disappointed in are Janine's hair, the sign, and the lack of printed parts. But I'm still very pumped for this set. Can't wait to see the inside! Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Odd the designers didn't use the tan leg printing used in the last B Wing set - or leg printing at all (and yet arm printing?) Guess a £274 set still isn't expensive enough to address such things! Quote
BrickFit26 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 The sets looks incredible. I want to see what the inside looks like. Love the recolor of Banshee's hairpiece in white and brown. Quote
WhiteFang Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 This is beautifully insane! I am totally blown away. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 $350??? A mean, for real?? Looks good for sure but not THAT good 2016 will be a cheap year Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 2016 will be a cheap year Just the opposite! This, finally giving into the Ecto 1, various Super Hero sets being released, and the Dimensions packs to go with this! Yikes. Quote
mediumsnowman Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Interesting, this link has it listed as under the Ideas line. Didn't the project get rejected? Quote
Trainmaster247 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 YAY!! Interesting, this link has it listed as under the Ideas line. Didn't the project get rejected? Also some more good info on the set there, can't wait for an inside shot of it. Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Huh. The English LEGO.com listing has the price as $499.99... EDIT: Oops, my mistake. That's for Australians. And now it won't switch back to the US. Man, S@H is terrible sometimes. Edited October 28, 2015 by rob-ot5000 Quote
Robert8 Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 If they are going to sell this as an IDEAS set, the guy who posted the project is going to be rich Just the opposite! This, finally giving into the Ecto 1, various Super Hero sets being released, and the Dimensions packs to go with this! Yikes. Thank god I don't give a brick about Superheroes and Ghostbusters Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 ^I did the same thing! And I noticed its Ideas too. Makes you wonder... Quote
mediumsnowman Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Am I the only one who finds it amusing that the pavement slime is listed as a selling point, when it's literally just a few trans-pink studs built into the sidewalk? Quote
WetWired Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 A few people have been wondering what's going on in regards to the Ideas projects (both mine and Sergios), Here's my thoughts on the matter... We've seen in previous instances (UCS Helicarrier) where LEGO has released a product that was rejected from LEGO Ideas prior. LEGO sets take upwards of 6 months to develop from conception to final product and that's multiplied for larger sets. So in the case of the helicarrier I give LEGO the benefit of the doubt that they had already been working on it behind the scenes and unfortunately for the LEGO helicarrier ideas submission, it conflicted with that. Now in this instance you have my own firehouse in my original submission and the more detailed version with a full interior from Sergio Hernancias. As much as I'd love to take credit for it, mine was kinda phoned in, no interior, only a facade. I didn't really intend for it to be taken seriously as part of the submission (though I wouldn't have complained if they did) I felt it was more a background element of the submission, something to boost the presentation. That leaves Sergios, which is more direct ideas submission, this IS the firehouse with a detailed interior. It did reach 10k and was unfortunately rejected. Here's how I see it playing out. My ideas project gets made, sales go very well and LEGO sees lots of people commenting on the lack of the firehouse from the submission. They crunch the numbers (if we sold X ectomobile sets, we might expect say 1% of those people to buy a firehouse, OK it's financially viable). That combined with a new Ghostbusters movie coming out in 2016, it makes perfect sense to greenlight the set. They start the design process for the firehouse, now keep in mind this is the 3rd largest LEGO set ever created. That would have some effect on how long it would take to develop. During this time Sergio submits his Firehouse to ideas. Development on the set is continuing and the firehouse reaches 10k. LEGO is in a difficult position where they can't approve it knowing full well they're already working on one. And they can't reveal that fact to the project creator without the risk of leaking information (as we've seen is a huge issue for them lately) I don't really know what the solution is to be honest, if the decision was made pre-sergios ideas project it makes it difficult to justify getting him involved. I guess the best you could ask for is sending him a set or 2 (I'll take some too please :P) Now I can forsee this happening again. With the new movie coming out I have heard rumours of sets coming out to accompany it, they'd be crazy not to. If they're getting the license it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't put out further, smaller sets from the old movies, maybe something with Vigo and GB2 dark grey suits and slime blowers and what I think will effect me, a small (maybe hulkbuster sized) stay puft set with gozer and some marshmallowed Ghostbusters variants. Why do I think this? it makes no sense to me to omit Gozer from the firehouse in favour of a zombie taxi driver. My marshmallow man is under review at the moment and could very easily conflict with an upcoming set for next year and be rejected. Plus I think mine is too large to be seriously considered, but I think it's far more likely there's already stuff in the works. Between the Firehouse set and the Dimensions inclusion, they're sinking too much dough into the Ghostbusters franchise to only have a firehouse and Ecto1 set on the shelves. Quote
