TheLegoDr Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I don't recall what happens in either. Both movies blend together for me. So it makes sense to have an amalgam for the HQ. Similar to BTTF ideas set with the three different versions. Catch as many as you can. It looks impressive, but a bit large for my display area (plus cost). I also don't love the wider lt bley areas on the front windows, but I might get used to it. Figures look great. The pink slime through the sidewalk is a neat feature. Quote
6ix Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 So many people asking all the time, i decided to cut the part of the photo where Vigo is. Now that shouldnt any longer be an issue. The HiRes image is here: http://cache.lego.co...1&fmt=png-alpha How anyone can see the Vigo painting in that is beyond me... Quote
KlodsBrik Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 How anyone can see the Vigo painting in that is beyond me... LOL .... The people who se it is only assuming its Vigo, i also prefer to think it is, since it would make sense. However im looking forward to seeing the interior of this set, then it wont be all speculation any longer at least. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Lets put this into perspective. The people that only watched the movies, which was 26 years ago, are probably at least 31 years old now. The people that watched the cartoons, with the last one 18 years ago, are probably at least 23 years old now. So not exactly the demographic that necessarily need to ask for presents anymore. I know it will probably say 16+ on the box, but you know it's mainly the adults who will know what a ghostbuster is. I'm technically an adult (19) and I still write a Christmas list. I dare say some other adults probably do too because it makes it easier for people to know what you'd like. Even if you don't do lists, there is no way you'd find anyone who'd be able to buy someone a £300 LEGO set as a Christmas present unless they're A: A millionaire and/or B: Won the lottery. Quote

This discussion is not about Christmas lists. It's also not for a continual back-and-forth about how expensive the set is. You can find numerous topics about LEGO being pricey in the General LEGO Discussion section of the Forums. Please stop now with the posts wishing for cheaper sets in certain Licensed lines. Saying it once - ok. More than once - annoying and doesn't add anything.Everyone else, please carry on. Quote
kelceycoe Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 How anyone can see the Vigo painting in that is beyond me... Look inside the window. There is a sticker with a man with horns that resembles the demonic form of Vigo, to a degree, from Ghostbusters II. Of course, given that pink slime was used in Ghostbusters II (you see it in the first seen seeping through the cracks, which is likely what the small amount coming beside the Firehouse set is emulating). Here is Vigo in demonic form as he appeared in the film: link: http://ghostbusters.wikia.com/wiki/File:VigoTowardstheEnd.png Quote
6ix Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Yeah... nope... still not seeing it. I can still only make out something that looks like an angry minifig face. Everything around it doesn't resemble the painting. I have no idea what is to the left of the "face" or what that white bit resembles. I'll wait for the official pictures to see what actually shows through the window. Quote
x105Black Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I guess it could be Vigo in demonic form. Maybe it's a terror dog? Either way, no substitute for a Vigo minifigure. Quote

I'm not either and I'm buying my wife about $400 in 2 sets for christmas. It's not difficult if you budget for it and have sufficient disposable income. I'll be buying the HQ and Brick Bank at my local lego store on Jan 1st for my own collection. Quote
Kez Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 My guess is that it's a photograph of Vigo in the developing room, the white bit represents a peg to hang the photo out to develop and the yellow brick that the (sticker) of Vigo represents the flames of the photo when Vigo sets the whole room alight. (1)Stein Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Seeing that Marcos Bessa designed the two Simpsons houses with some of the best interiors seen in any set, I'm feeling deeply positive that the GBHQ will also impress us! I'm still not convinced that this is dark red vs normal red. although I think dark orange would have been great as well...... I wonder if all the official pics will be released on Halloween tomorrow? I agree and havethe same hopes! Janine's desk, the suit racks, everything; Im really looking forward to seeing how he accomplished these things. His work on items such as the beds and furniture in the Sinpsons' house are practically unparalleled in detail. And I also think it's make sense for the pictures to be released tomorrow, seeing as it is Halloween. And since the set is released Jannuary 1, we can expect a VIP release about December 15th. Quote
jaesroe Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) I'm still not convinced that this is dark red vs normal red. although I think dark orange would have been great as well...... I agree. In my opinion, it would have been better if it had come out with dark orange colour like city hall. When I saw the official picture of 75827, it seems more bright than dark red of fire brigade, but I think it is dark red. I hope the actual colour would be more dark-ish than bright. The red-brick colour seems to be more clear to see when TLG release the designer's video and more ex/interior pics. I also hope TLG would release interior pics on Halloween day! Yes! as said on my previous post, the main jewel of this set would be a super detailed interior! Although I am not a fan of Simpson theme, but I do know both interior details of Simpson house and Kwike mart were excellent. Thus, the expectation rises higher and higher!! Edited October 31, 2015 by jaesroe Quote

Unless its the photos of him that Peter took of him, it isn't Vigo. Quote
davidmull Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Iv asked already but does anyone know will the gb car be back in stock soon? Quote
bjorn77 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I'll with a judgement until I've seen the interior, but my initial feeling is that I'd rather buy two Brick Banks instead. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Iv asked already but does anyone know will the gb car be back in stock soon? No word, but I'd also check your local ToysRUs if you're in the U.S. Mine has had them on the shelf for years now. Otherwise, since the two go together and the Ecto-1 fits inside, which is advertised in the description, I'd say that it will be made available again. Quote
Emmi Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I just hope that this doesn't open like the LEGO Simpsons House does - it would ruin the set for me. I want it to open like this The thing is, if it opens like the Simpsons House it would ruin playability for me as well as display value - I still hate the Simpsons House for the way it opens and therefore destroys the entire set. Hopefully it opens as in the video above. Quote

Emmi Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Thanks, so can we be sure it's just the wall that comes away without any floor parts, etc. - like in the video I posted??? Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 @Emmi Look at the Entertainment Mag. pictures. In one you can see the left side clearly, and it opens in two on that side. Quote
kelceycoe Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 Thanks, so can we be sure it's just the wall that comes away without any floor parts, etc. - like in the video I posted??? I have confidence in TLC they will open the side of the HQ just like the IDEAS versions and exactly like every other non-LEGO toy version of the HQ. It's been a standard with any other toy building designed like that. The Simpsons House, hate me as you will, is TLCs version of a dollhouse. Almost every dollhouse I seen opens from the top and slides open if they're enclosed. Otherwise they also can be played with from the side. Trust TLC to continue using established toy mechanics. Quote
Emmi Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 So it will open like in the video, sort of? I could imagine the stair is attached to the wall - which makes absolute sense. Quote
