6ix Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Brickset has an article about it. I know. That article quotes a thread on these boards. But in that thread there is no confirmation that Lego holds the rights to the GB reboot. Only that Lego is aboard the GB license. So it might as well talk about this HQ and Dimensions. Quote

The page links to an article on another site with an entire article confirming different companies doing stuff for the movie? I did talk about the content of that thread, didn't I? The article talks about Mattel doing the reboot GB *and* the classics. So the article isn't exclusively talking about the reboot. There is no direct reference to Lego doing the reboot. Nor is there that they are only doing the classic. But to conclude Lego is doing a theme based on the reboot, solely from the information in said article, is stretching the information a bit to far. TheLegoDr Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 What's information if it isn't stretched a bit? Who wants tight information? Quote

But to conclude Lego is doing a theme based on the reboot, solely from the information in said article, is stretching the information a bit to far. The article specifically quotes Mark Caplan, Sony Pictures’ new senior vice president of global consumer products. He states, "Alongside Mattel, we have LEGO on board, Funko doing Pop! Vinyl and Rubie’s is making costumes. It’s expansive. We have something for everyone, whether you’re a collector or an everyday toy buyer.” ToyNews article here. Certainly that isn't Lego announcing anything. But you have the rights' holder stating that they have a deal with a licensee to produce toys for them. I'm firmly in the camp of, "Lego is going to produce sets related to the new movie." Quote
davidmull Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Ok the set is available in a little less than 2 months and we still have no pictures of the inside or even a Lego promotion video. Is this normal? Edited November 7, 2015 by davidmull Quote

Elrond Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 A bit late to the party but I was blown away when I first discovered they were making a GB firehouse. Never thought they'd greenlight such a big set for this franchise but I'm so glad they did. I can't wait to see pics of the inside. The minifig selection is pretty good, although I wish they made a Gozer minifig instead of the Zombie cab driver. It would also have been nice to have the ghostbusters in their dark gray GB2 jumpsuits or maybe in civilian clothes, but hey, at least we get printed arms with these. It's a bit weird though to see that no minifigs are based on the second movie despite the fact this looks more like the GB2 firehouse (red walls instead of black ones, pink slime). Anyways, my two main concerns now are the price and all the space I'll have to make for it. Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 This set is supposed to blur the lines between the two (Janine, Louis, and Dana are clearly GB1). The firehouse was always red, though, so I don't see your point. While Gozer the minifig would be nice, the character didn't appear in any HQ scenes, and is less recognizable in humanoid form. I would have liked the option for the logo from the second movie as well as the first's. Quote
Elrond Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) This set is supposed to blur the lines between the two (Janine, Louis, and Dana are clearly GB1). Yeah, that's what I thought and I guess that was the best decision. That's also pretty much how it appears in the video game if I remember correctly. The firehouse was always red, though, so I don't see your point. Nope, they repainted it in black after they bought it. It's very subtle but you can see it if you pay attention when the cops hand Louis over to Egon or when the containment unit blows up. I guess most people never noticed it, especially since it's red/orange again in the second film. (3:02 minute mark) While Gozer the minifig would be nice, the character didn't appear in any HQ scenes, and is less recognizable in humanoid form. True but neither do the library ghost or the possessed Dana. Edited November 9, 2015 by Elrond Quote

I didn't know that GBHQ in the original movie was also painted in black with no roundel decoration on facade. I also thought 75827's exterior colour would have been also good in dark orange. The exterior colour still seems a bit confusing to me whether the red is the same dark red of 10197's dark red or new red colour...as 75827's red seems a bit brighter than dark red. It was funny to hear Dana's snoring in the clip! (3:05) Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Where's a Delorean when you need one? Dr. Emmett Brown: No! Marty! We've already agreed that having information about the future can be extremely dangerous. Even if your intentions are good, it can backfire drastically! [Marty nods reluctantly] Dr. Emmett Brown: Whatever you've got to tell me, I'll find out through the natural course of time. Just wait. It'll come. Quote

Yes, the dark orange bricks would have worked well too. The contrast with the gray parts would probably look a little less stark too, making it a little less cartoony. I must say I'm confused too, it does look a little clear for it to be dark red but maybe that's due to the lighting. Quote

BlueberryWaffles Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I was just coming here to make some snarky remark about it being two weeks since it was revealed, but apparently it's tomorrow! Huzzah! Quote

Kez Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Oh! For a second there I thought the interior images/video had been released, especially with 3 replies within a short time lol, maybe later... Quote
