JPN366 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I'm going to order 4 of those Chinese food container pieces. Do you guys think the Panel 1 x 1 x 1 Corner w/ Rounded Corners added to the top of each one would be a good representation of the lids being open on the Chinese food containers? Quote
Boettner Builds Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That might work. I think a white cheese wedge would work too, but neither are perfect. Quote
JPN366 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 That might work. I think a white cheese wedge would work too, but neither are perfect. At least with the 1 x 1 x 1 corner, it gives a 50% appearance of the 4 open lids of a Chinese food container. http://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-panel-1-x-1-x-1-corner-with-rounded-corners-6231 Quote
Boettner Builds Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I see it now! I thought you were talking about the 1x1 tile with the rounds end ( the new mixel teeth) I think the part you linked will work very well!! Quote
JPN366 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Done. I'll post a picture of the guys eating around the table once I get the parts. I also ordered 4 forks for each of them. The Chinese food containers should have been part of the set to begin with. Quote
cooldude00 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Just finished building this evening - love it but anyone else notice scratches on the floor tiles when the sides open/close? Quote
Boettner Builds Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Mine has scratches too from opening and closing. I'll fix that once I make it a full modular... Quote
The Imperial Soldier Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 It's unbelievable that these sets are currently being sold on eBay for £350-£450 used. Some of them are even being bid up to above £300. The people bidding are clearly unaware that they're still available brand new direct from Lego.com at £275. Quote
cacg88 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Hi guys, I recently acquire this great set. I want to share with you the modifications I did to the garage doors to allow the ECTO1 to be parked and the doors being able to close. https://flic.kr/s/aHskvfZ9Ms Here is a detailed view... That's a really neat mod! Very simple, yet very effective. Great job! Quote
LegoFjotten Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Finally built this set, love it! Wasn't sure if I should apply the stickers or not, but ended up doing so after building it - except for one sneaky sticker which I couldn't find when flipping through the instructions, #13. Anyone remember where that sticker should go? Picture of the sticker sheet in the spoiler tags: Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Dark grey 2x1 tile in front of the building on the lower grey part. Quote

TheGlynreaper Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 yaaaay im finally getting it Wednesday or Thursday I just cant wait , although id like to know is the box easily collapsible after that other than the new GB reboot sets in july im saving up badly for all the new summer sets released in august Quote
kelceycoe Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 I just finished bags 1-3 and the new Ecto-1 fits like a charm. If you watched the new Ghostbusters you know why this is important. Quote
gbfanrm85 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Got this set last weekend, just spent time each evening building some making sure I got my moneys worth. Fantastic set, great fun to build and so detailed with some smart use of Lego. However I don't see why they included the zombie taxi driver, they'd of been better with Walter Peck. Quote
kelceycoe Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 I'm also personally upset there was no "terror dog" scene in the freezer. I know that was in Dana's apartment but if they're giving us the library ghost and taxi driver then they could have made a sticker for the inside of the freezer and not on a TV. But I digress. Good build but very tiring. I couldn't stand to do more than 2 bags a night due to the repetition and of course the overabundance of stickers. Quote
koalayummies Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 (edited) ::Edit: Replacement is now on the way, thank you Lego! :: Venkman has misprint/double print of the ghostbuster logo outline. I did an online parts request but the part is backordered. :( Also had first damaged piece arrive in more than 20 years of Lego (one of the brown floor plates bent and warped) but a replacement is already on the way :D. Boettner Builds Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I want to share some little MODs I did to mine to make it fit in my city better. Quote
Cmay91472 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Love the side gate, but that front logo mod has gotta go. Edited October 19, 2016 by Cmay91472 Double post Quote

Love the side gate, but that front logo mod has gotta go. It's a temporary fix, as I hate stickers! I'm going to MOD the entire building so that it fits the entire baseplates, front and back. But that's on the extreme back burner... Edited October 19, 2016 by redtrooper27 Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Couldn't find a general Ghostbusters theme thread, so apologies if this is the wrong place.... It seems Playmobil now has the Ghostbusters license, so we could be looking at no more Lego Ghostbusters sets. Not that there was a ton left to make, but still a shame! Quote

Blondie-Wan Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 After waiting for it since before its January 1 2016 release, I finally picked up this set today with the Black Friday sale, just as it’s about to be retired. I can’t wait to build it (but I’ll have to!). This is the largest LEGO set I’ve ever gotten and the one with the highest MSRP (though not the one for which I’ve actually paid the most, thanks to today’s sale and a bunch of VIP points I’d saved up). The only one I’ve ever spent more on was the Star Wars Ewok Village, for which I paid the regular MSRP. Between LEGO Ideas, LEGO Dimensions, this and everything else, LEGO Ghostbusters encompasses a total of eight sets - but this one amounts to over half the whole theme all by itself, in terms of price and/or piece count, so I’m very glad I was able to get it (unlike the vast numbers of expensive desirable sets I’ve missed out on in the past from various themes). Now the only LEGO GB thing I lack is the Brickheadz set. I haven’t really been doing Brickheadz, but I’m contemplating getting that one just to have this whole theme, but fearful it may lead me down another collecting rabbit hole... Anyway, I’m really looking forward to putting this one together. I’m also actually thinking of mods I might want to do, even though it’s already amazing, but we’ll see... Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 This is truly one of the nicest sets they have done. Be careful about the Brickheadz, once you buy one, you start getting more. Trust me. Quote
