Alfadas Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Hehe, nice one!! He's a very talented builder. Quote
Robert8 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 WHAT THE ?? That looks awesome. And that's a pretty decent Pope minifigure But strictly talking, this is just St. Peter's square and Basilica. Vatican is the whole country Quote
6ix Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 But strictly talking, this is just St. Peter's square and Basilica. Vatican is the whole country Yeah, but the country isn't much bigger Quote
bullet8542 Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) Yeah, but the country isn't much bigger Yeah, but the country isn't much bigger True !! I have been there a couple of times and it's an amazing place lots of beautiful art works and history (both good and bad) but small it the larger scheme of things. I really like the fact I am seeing a Lego building with a red roof reminds me of my sets from when I was a kid. Edited September 19, 2015 by bullet8542 Quote
Only Sinner Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 "Simon's Lego Vatican is going on display at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, where Pope Francis is scheduled to take part in the World Meeting of Families on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27. It coincides with the museum's new Vatican Splendorsexhibit, which showcases significant objects from the Catholic Church's history. " I would very much like to see this exhibit, my family would be interested to see the other Vatican Splendors too. Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm not even Catholic: but I am totally digging this MOC. Pure awesome, instantly recognizable. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 It would be something if the Pope stopped to view the Lego display and there was a picture taken of him holding that minifigure. Quote
KotZ Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 That is absolutely gorgeous. A fairly interesting article as well. I'm really loving all the little details he put into it. Quote

dr_spock Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Impressive. Did he make a Pope minifig? It didn't say in the news article. Quote
uksuzanne Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I think picture 7 of 23 is meant to be the minifigure Pope as he's standing on the balcony (Loggia of the Benediction) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 This MOC looks totally cool! Very nice architecture and perfectly recognizable! Quote
Robert8 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Impressive. Did he make a Pope minifig? It didn't say in the news article. It can be seen in one of the pics Quote
