halixon Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) This is my first SoNE Moc, so C & C welcome, though it's not my first Star Wars Moc. ------ Part 1: Windu (Short for Windusky) walked into General Crux's office, clad in new armor. Windusky: "Reporting for Special Operations duty, General Crux." Gen. Crux: "Ah yes, i've been watching your skills as a trooper, and so i've been waiting for you. I have your assignment ready." "What is it?" "We've received reports of a crime syndicate who are selling spices and stealing from one of our bases on Tatooine. I need you do go down there and sneak into their base, and blow it to kingdom come." "Here's a picture of the bomb you'll be using." "Where will i be picking this bomb up?" "From a client in Mos Ila that goes by the name Jzar. You'll know him when you see him." "Alright sir, when should i dispatch?" "ASAP." "Yes sir." "Oh, and Windu?" "Yes, General?" "Our missions don't exist to other stormtroopers. Speak of this to no one but High Generals." "Yes General Crux." Thanks for any Constructive Criticism. I would like for this build to be judged. MKJoshA Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Welcome to SoNE Windusky! It's good to have you on board. Your build is good and very Star Warsy. I really like the way you focused your last picture to add some blur to the background. A couple recommendations would be to add tiles to the top of the build to give it a cleaner feel and to maybe try some different lighting techniques. Also a couple things to know as you start building for SoNE since we are very different from GoH or AG: 1) your character has to have the same name as your screen name, so in your case your character's name would be Windusky. You could say that his full name is Windusky Halixon but should refer to him from time to time as Windusky. 2) You can't actually start out as a Special Ops member. You have to work your way up the ranks to that position. For the sake of your story right now you could say that you are a regular trooper who has been enlisted by the Special Ops team to help them on a number of missions until you achieve the rank of Special Ops. You should check out the rules here. Please don't get scared by all the suggestions! We are glad to have you in the SoNE community. Quote
halixon Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the suggestions MKJoshA, I'll go back and edit wherever it says "Halixon" With Windusky. The Spec. Ops armor will remain, but Windusky will be a regular trooper for now. Also, not sure how to edit a topic title, could someone tell me how? Edited September 24, 2015 by Windusky Quote
MKJoshA Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Thanks for the suggestions MKJoshA, I'll go back and edit wherever it says "Halixon" With Windusky. The Spec. And, I think you've done a great job modifying your story! Quote
Commander Beltar Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Great little build as an introduction to SoNE! I like, (as Josh said) the last picture where part of it is blurry. I also like the floor with the mix of smooth and studs! ~Beltar Quote
LucasLaughing Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Welcome to SoNE, and good choice going with the Empire. Your room has a nice "Imperial" feel to it - good use of the large slopes, and I like the texture that the "brick" bricks add to the wall. My only suggestion would be to add a ceiling, even if it's just a gray baseplate over the top, so that we can't see the white above, and the build feels more "in-universe." Quote
Zaael Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) Welcome! Nice little build. I agree with the others about the roof or at least the tiles on top of the walls. A thing I did what really works well in my humble opinion is this: It makes for a clean and detachable ceiling. Edited September 29, 2015 by Zaael Quote
goatman461 Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 i think you have the right idea for dbg angles in an imperial build, but you should follow through with the structure of them so they don't just look like accents to the room, instead, they are suppose to be utilitarian and functional. They almost look like curtains when they're just thrown into the wall. I would also focus on patterns in the wall and on the floor so it doesn't look too random. Welcome to the empire, your photography skills are great and it looks like you have a lot of potential. Quote
