Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Then... it's probably true that the super-titans are weapons. :'-( I'm gonna kill Greg for getting our hopes up. EDIT: Hah, more proof. In Downfall, Artakha says the Nuva have a weapon in Karda Nui... could these big sets be it? -Ikk Edited December 27, 2007 by Ikki o' Moopyville Quote
Tyranide Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hate it. Every time I think that something will be good thing... happens something VERY BAD that spoils everything. Hate it. Won't buy those "Weapons". Not at all. Other sets - let's see their pics (when they'll be released or leaked). Maybe sets will change my mind. Quote
Trexxen Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Oy, keep in mind that this is speculation and word of mouth - nobody knows that the large sets will be giant weapons. Rockoh may be, but Jetrax and Axalara? No. Those are NOT weapon names. I still think Axalara is the OOMN leader... ~Trexxen Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Far as I know, Greg said there were no plans to make a set of the OOMN leader. And those T's in the names just scare me. -Ikk Quote
Trexxen Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 He also said there wouldn't be a Karzahni set. ^.~ ~Trexxen Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Lol, yes, good point. But I believe he said that in 2006 when 2007 wasn't closed yet, so to speak. He's seen all 2008 sets now and story's locked down, so not much hope I'm afraid. :-/ -ikk Quote
Trexxen Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 >.> Didn't they lock down 2008 story and sets in '06? Anywho, I'm almost certain that he said that well into '07, even February - the month when the set was revealed =P But no matter. Axalara, OOMN leader or not, had better be a darned good (gigantic) set. ^.^ ~Trexxen Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Hear hear! Sorry for being pessimistic. X-D EDIT: Shakar was right. Geez, BZP is strict... glad to be here. *sweet* -Ikk Edited December 27, 2007 by Ikki o' Moopyville Quote
AgentRick Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Someone on Brickshelf got Mutran and Vican. It appears to be a Walmart exclusive in the US. Look here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=291854 Edited December 27, 2007 by AgentRick57 Quote
Echo Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I purchased Mutran and Vican today. They are pretty nice. Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Yeah, and pigs fly. :-D -Ikk Quote
LordGalewind Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 What im curious about is what is MoMN real name? Judging by the list i think it may be Mazeka (just a dumb guess). Anyway I agree with you all, these names are just crap. The phantoka I have been geneally pleased with this year, but the titans this year......meh. Hopefully with this many titans (not weapons) that it will please me moreso than icarax and mutran |-/ Quote
Trexxen Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Well, Greg SAID there won't be a MOMN set this year, problem is, he also said this about makuta in '08 - there will be three more (canister sets, all of 'em) in Summer 08 that he knows of, however, he has said that he doesn't know for certain what the exclusive sets are. So it's possible, but unlikely. Then again, Karzahni... ~Trexxen Quote
LordGalewind Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 If they're re releasing Takanuva and the other toa nuva, it is somewhat possible they will release MoMN in a new set, just looking at the amount of titans I still have my hopes up about it. Lately though the titans haven't been as impressive, or likeable. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 The names... are just strange. And I thought the Phantoka names were weird... *wacko* I'm glad Takanuva will come back though! -ZotS Quote
Dino_Bot Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I didn't even know those Vampire thingies were Makuta! I didn't know the Makuta was literally the species name... Quote
Clonie Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I didn't even know those Vampire thingies were Makuta!I didn't know the Makuta was literally the species name... Lol owned. :-P Quote
Shakar Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) Hear hear! Sorry for being pessimistic. X-D EDIT: Shakar was right. Geez, BZP is strict... glad to be here. *sweet* -Ikk Yeah...the reason they filter words like Youtube and mod (which is turned into "moderator") is beyond me. A friend of mine over BZP had an idea. What if the 3 "T sets" are BOM experiments? That would kinda explain the weird names, the T's and the numbers. Seriously, think of it: three giant beasts the Toa and the Makuta can ride. That would be GREAT. Shakar Edited December 28, 2007 by Shakar Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 A matoran riding a toa riding a monster. Whee... As for your "owned" comment, Clonie, I think its the community as a whole thats been "owned"... Makuta a species name... pffft. Quote
Shakar Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) I didn't mean that. I just said that the Toa and the Makuta could ride them, without Matoran. Shakar Edited December 28, 2007 by Shakar Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Heres another theory... what if T is just a placeholder name? *gasp* :-| Or maybe they are experiments... just I hope they are all mutated... and the Toa and Makuta don't ride them. -ZotS Quote
Zarkan Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 As for your "owned" comment, Clonie, I think its the community as a whole thats been "owned"... Makuta a species name... pffft. Then that means that I and Visorak-Kal have also been "owned." And I doubt anyone would liked to be refered to as someone that has been tricked into liking so called "crud." |-/ Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 You misunderstood. While I do not care for the idea of a "species" of Makuta, I'll go with it. They're all evil great beings, yadda, ok, fine. I meant a species using the name "Makuta". In 2001, it was "The Makuta". Then it got shortened to "Makuta". Now, all the baddies are Makuta. Bleh :-X Quote
Visorak-kal Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, whether or not you celebrate it! :-) As of now, between my brothers and I, I have had first-hand looks at all Phantoran and Phantoka. I pretty much like them all, with Lewa perhaps a little bit less than the others. I used to think the Makuta Phantoka and Phantoran bodies were pretty useless, but now I see that they have a number of MOCing possibilites. There are a great many connection joints, and the rib cages look good even when not occupied by a Trydax pod. There are also plenty of ways to attach front armor (as in Vezon) to the Makuta PHantoka bodies, though I really don't have the MOCer's brain to do it. Chirox is superb, especially since he does not suffer from arms that are too long. His arms reach just about the edge of his thighs, which is where my hands reach to. (I'm not counting his weapons here.) This is when he is in the way his instructions and box show him; the pictures on teh back of his box have his arms way too outstretched, which I think is not correct. Kopaka Nuva was also fun to build, even though he has an Inika body. I like the back silver armor, and the Midak Skyblaster looks really nice on him. I think the Midak Skyblaster looks better on him than on any other Toa so far. The Phantoran are not as bad as I thought; with the esception of Radiak's arms and legs, most of the pieces are not that pre-bent, and all come with plenty of connection points. While the builds suffered, of course (being only fourteen pieces), the end result is just as playable, if not better, than the Mahritoran. I still prefer the Mahritoran to all other Matoran, though. That is an interesting name list Tyranide and Trexxen found! I am not crazy about the names, but to be honest I could care less what they are called. To me, it is the end result that matters. I really hope those T-things aren't hand-held weapons, I like Shakar's suggestion. I'm hoping for that, since they seem not to be mega-fig style playsets. I am glad for the return of Takanuva and for what seems to be plenty of Titans. Here's hoping they are more built than Icarax. You misunderstood. Bleh I think the fact that he was "The Makuta" and not merely "Makuta" shows that Makuta was always less of a name and more of a species title. Granted, I always considered it as a singular title at first, Makuta being the "lone" Makuta. I never liked the shortening to Makuta, though I can see why it was done. I honesty can't see the Toa facing him and saying, "Take this, the Makuta!" Still, I will always consider "our" Makuta as Makuta, whatever his actual name will be. Chirox, Antroz and these other guys have their own names, so people will call them by that. I will always see Makuta of Metru Nui as Makuta. VK Quote
